I know if Elvis were here today he would dedicate American Trilogy to the victims and families of 9/11/2001. REMEMBER the 343 members of FDNY lost that day. REMEMBER the passengers of united flight 93 who gave their lives in a Pennsylvania field to prevent the plane being a missile and saving countless lives somewhere on the ground. And REMEMBER all those who died in the towers and on flights AA 11 and United 175, and those who died in the pentagon and AA 77. Please just REMEMBER!!!!
yes he would and still with his music he brings healing to his fans. An American trilogy is my most loved song of him. this day i will never forget still i am crying when i think at it ...although i dont live in the US i feel related to the US people... i ve relatives in the US which i had last seen and had contact at the age of 6 (32 years ago) my granddad found out that part of our family emigrated 200 years ago (Dutch) but sadly later we lost contact from germany
@navistreng or anyone else..do you possibly know what concert date that footage of american trilogy is? I always thought the 73 aloha from hawaii version was the best version but this one might take the cake and i want the whole thing:) and OMG it's my fav..the blue cape suit
i don't know how a man can be dead for so long and still be the king of rock and roll! but his is. and always will be the got damn king! ELVIS!!!!!!!!!!! the KING! ELVIS! Elllllllllllvis the got damn KING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! fucking A right! Evlis! the KING!
@QuikSixxFixx81 Well if you had some real brains, they will be good friends if the lived in the same Generation, and btw MJ never molested little kids... do you got any proofs? MJ & ELVIS are just the best.

I was only 9 when he died but I remember when the news came in. I love his music and his style. I know how these people must have felt. I think the loss of Michael Jackson feels a lot like that must have. I love Elvis too!
I am 49 years old. I was 14 when Elvis died in 1977. I can still remember I was in our living room watching TV with my Grandmother and they broke in on TV with the news. I raced into the kitchen where my Mom was making dinner and I told her "MOM....Elvis died this afternoon. She looked at me and told me to stop kidding around. I said..."Go ask Grandma she saw it on TV" My Mom just sat in the chair and could not realize Elvis was dead. For something that was over 30 years ago, it seems so fresh

I once asked some 8- 9 year old boys and girls at the school my kid attends to, if they knew about Elvis. Everybody said YES! They said of course they knew the King.
I was there and i never fell myself so sad as then. Even now when I see this clip I get tears in my eyes. Elvis was and is still the only true king of all kinds of music. Nobody come close to him even not Wacko Jacko.
WONDERFUL. Thanks to whoever posted this video. It captures for me the powerful phenomenon that was -and is- Elvis Presley. Both from the fans and news reports at his death, and then from the last bit of the video, where he hits those womderful notes. Show how he threw himself into it- it still chills me when does that- the effort. dedication the gave a song. What a force! I havent listened to him for years and I'm in awe all over again!

God was giving America and the World a message one last time in the life generation of human beings like Billy Graham & Elvis Presley before God Himself the Son Jesus Christ returns which is preceded by the World Apocalypse.
i never ever would have seriously got into any kind of Music Singer or Group in my live if Elvis Presley never had existed in the World at anytime in history. In fact the only reason i really like the 1950's Singers, the Beatles, and everybody else as my favorites is because Elvis Presley existed.
And to think i lived to experience not only hearing that singer when he was alive on the radio, records, and 8 track tapes. But also see him live in Buffalo NY in late June 1976. One year and a day before his last live performance ever in Indianapolis IN.
I remember exactly where I was when I was told that Elvis had died. To this day, his is the death that shocked me the most. I guess I just didn't believe there could be a world without Elvis in it. There is, but it's not as wonderful.
@7861312 I was still asleep around 11am in LA when someone called out, "Wake up! Elvis Presley died!" I said, "Yeah yeah..." and fell right back to sleep. But when I finally woke up a few hours later, the first thing I said was, "Did you tell me Elvis Presley died?!?" I thought I had dreamed it. It was like a psychic sucker-punch, really. And it took about a week before the shock wore off and you understood he was... gone. Communications were slower then and few people knew what bad shape...
@7861312 he was in, so we were unprepared. He was bigger than Monroe or James Dean. Elvis was known everywhere at a time when it took years to become known. And he was flamboyant and bigger than life to most people. The President lived at the White House and rode on Air Force One, and Elvis Presley lived at Graceland and flew around on the Lisa Marie. He was in an elite league.
I WAS ONLY EIGHT YEARS OLD WHEN HE LEFT US,I WAS NEVER A ELVIS FAN BACK THEN. BUT AS I GOT OLDER I BECAME ADDICTED TO HIS MUSIC,FILMS. I EVEN TRIED TO COPY HIS LIP CURLING,I SPENT HOURS IN FRONT OF THE MIRROR,SPENDING LOADS ON BRYLCREME TRY ING TO GET MY HAIR LIKE HIS. I THINK OF ELVIS AS BEING LIKE A BUG ONCE YOU CATCH IT YOU CAN NEVER GET RID.
I was nearly 11 years old when he died, and I remember it vividly. My teacher at school was a huge fan, and the first thing he asked me when I got to school, was if I had heard the news. Remember feeling rather numb, and it was a tough day.
First time I seen this coverage, I cried (again). What a sad sad thing that we should loose such a beautiful man at such a young age. One question please......... Why are there comparisons of someone like Micheal Jackson to our ELVIS PRESLEY.....How Absurd !!
Really man, A fad? Just as Elvis impacted an entire generation of young musicians and fans, so did Michael Jackson. I love Elvis being for Mississippi, he was our home grown son which never really forgot where he came from but Michael didn't just rerecord other artists music as Elvis and a lot of artists of the time did. His music was original and he change the game when it came to the Music video as well as the art form period!
If Elvis died in the 21st century like Michael, the world would have stop for a month and a recession would have taken place putting rich people in deep trouble.
My uncle sat in a cafe in San Fransisco when the news came on the TV that Elvis had died. He said he could never forget the collective reactions from all sorts of people, young and old. Some people screamed out shortly and others just sat still in shock. Everone stirred at the TV. He saw sorrow in so many people it was strange. Much of the same reactions in Norway. Shock, sorrow and questions of why...
6:16-6:17 (at the point the girl screams in the audience), there's Ann-Margret, Elvis' lovely co-star in "Viva Las Vegas" (holding what looks like a gold scarf) and her husband Roger Smith in the procession of mourners.
I always cry when I see the Memphis cops saluting his hearse as it passes because I think, "Yeah, that's right... he was a King because we loved him." You can't buy that kind of respect. People give it willingly or not at all. He was a very nice man.
i wont ever forget that day, watching ambulance go up to graceland, radio whbq broke in and said he was dead, our world around graceland turned into a circus overnight, thousands everywhere
rest in peace elvis, you deserve it. no one would ever leave you alone, you had to go out in disquise. stay awake while we slept and slept while we were waiting at your gate to see you. peace my friend
I live in Kentucky, I was 13 when it happened. My dad came home and I had to tell him, it was such a shock to him, he couldn't believe it. My wife and I's first dance, at our wedding was "Can't help falling in love".
ELVIS you're gone but you live forever in our hearts. Hope you have found rest in the peace of God with the ones you loved and were gone before you. I miss you. Love.
At 5:22 Elvis is singing about himself. In his heart he is singing this to his daughter Lisa Marie. Elvis was getting tired and he wanted to be with his beloved mother and the Lord. He probably could feel that the end was near.
I saw Elvis in person in 3 shows during the 70s,as you can see I'm a loyal fan and till the end of my life. It was a must for me to be there at Graceland for his funerals. One of the sadess day of my life. I'm 62 and I had these great chances to be near him. The charisma he had,his generousity and the his great talent will never be replaced. There never be an Elvis Presley again.
In 1977 I was 10 years old and Elvis had been a star from before I was born. JFK, MLK, and RFK were too early in my life to affect me. So when I heard the news that Elvis was gone, I just could not really believe it, Now I'm 52 and he died at 42. How is that possible? His 42 years meant more to more people than mine can ever mean, so I suppose he just didn't need the time here and Jesus called him Home early.
Still brings tears to my eyes.........we have missed so much with him gone. There was so much more he would have given to us. Such perfection...............
If he really knew Christ--and I hope he did--then he'll rise again some day in what the Bible calls the first resurrection. So if he is in heaven until then--and I hope he is--he is singing better than ever now. Not songs like "Hound Dog" or "Lonely Street", but rather the great hymns, like "How Great Thou Art".
Hello everyone, I was at the funerals aug 18,1977 part of the thousands of fans watching the hearse and all the white limousines. I even touched the hearse when it passed in front of me,then I was pushed away by a policeman,my friend and I have some pictures. I'm at 4:24 the guy with beige pans with my hand shadind the sun off my eyes.Let me tell you that it was so sad that day..you could feel it to... I never wanted to go back to Graceland. Rest in peace Elvis.
I was 5 years old and had no clue. I was more into Star Wars and SuperFriends. Besides...My grandfather died months before Elvis in 1977. My grandfather was more important. I didn't discover Elvis until I was in high school.
I lived in Russia (Soviet) in -77 and I remember the news of this tragedy. He was the superstar of the universe and loved all over. Elvis could have ended the cold war himself.
Elvis died 15 years before I was born. Ive grown up listening to him; & hes about all I ever listen to. Haha. He died before I was born but I feel like I knew him because of all the books Ive read about him, all of the concert movies of him & interviews that Ive seen. Honestly; seeing anything to do with his death & funeral makes my eyes tear up. Haha, Really.
the most incredible human of the twentieth century - no doubt - my twelve year old son and six year old daughter know of Elvis and his tribute to society, entertainment and our culture as we know it today - I noticed a lady approaching the hearse during this video and it made me think, "how can one man affect people such as he did?" - it is astounding . . . and so was he
@dewaynecullen You are so right, I just commented that he will ne ver die because his memory is kept alive with all thew new young fans . He will live forever. x
@dewaynecullen Mine to my daughter is 8 and we visited Graceland last summer. She loves Elvis and we listen to Sirius radio Elvis they are the next generation of fans long live Elvis.
8 dislike....why's that ?? This IS music !!
Miss you EP..

I'm at 4:24 the guy with beige pans with my hand shadind the sun off my eyes.Let me tell you that it was so sad that day..you could feel it to... I never wanted to go back to Graceland.
