all it does it let the car have + camshaft on low and high rpm. Meaning they work diffrently at high and low rpms.

my FD is running around 350. even the stock hp which is 270-275 hp is faster then your imaginary rsx

True to that, but other companies (variable valve timing systems) dont have the same output as Vtec has. The cross-over between the two lobe profiles are are different. Vtec is either on or off, while others are usually on all the time and either advancing or retarding the lobes. (not the same increase in energy output as Vtec).

Yeah, Vtec kicks in where, if you looked at a dyno sheet of your engine without Vtec engagement at all, you would be able to see the HP and torque curves. Well right where the Hp curve starts to go back down at whatever RPM, that is where Honda factory tuned Vtec to engage(different on different Vtec engines...D,B,K...), that way the HP and torque curves would still increase. On your Civic, D series right? Vtec is not as drastic as it would be in a B series or K series motor.

Horsepower dont meen shit dude..RSX has already outran a rx7 stock vs stock, it has been shown already even in track racing. Look it up, they put up a DC5 Type R up against the DC2 type R, FD Rx7, Miata, Boxster, and Sti. DC5 won and started in 3rd place.
