He has a quite melodic and gutsy voice, but just needs just a little bit of guttural feeling and rasp to it to compliment Halford's voice perfectly.HE has wonderful potentail though, and has already started to cultivate it. this kid, i say kid like i'm 50 (i'm 29), has plenty of time to work into his full vocal potential. what we're seeing here is just the tip of the iceberg. with more practice and possibly continued work with a vocal coach James could really go somewhere. he seems to have a killer range. glad to see a metal singer on American Karaoke for once. good luck James!

They made the right move by having James Durbin perform. I had to watch this on YouTube after the finale because I stopped watching American Idol after James went home. I thought for certain he would win this. He is the only one with both talent and the ability to really perform! I am definitely a James Durbin fan!!!

Wow, if Desert Plains is the result of selling out to a country who only a handful of Americans had even heard of in 1981, then I guess Priest adding "Beyond the Realms of Death" to their live set list is the ultimate disgrace. From Hero Hero, to Sad Wings, to Angel of Retribution, the real Priest fan could almost envision what was in store with the release of the next album.
