How anyone is talking about terrorism and religion is beyond me. This conflict had nothing to do with religion. It had to do with drought and politics. Also the UN aid mission in Somalia was an attempt to get food to starving people, and the rebels were hoarding the food and killing UN peacekeepers. STFU. This had nothing to do with islam, religion, or terrorism.
United States needs to get out now, this war isn't going to end it's been going on for 100's of years, constant conflict over there. @ikelleners Actually I can argue with that because your statement is historically wrong. America withdrew in accordance with agreements made with NV at the Paris Peace Accords. NV then violated those agreements by invading SV. SV defeated NV in the Easter Offensive (google it you might learn something). It was only after the Democratic government at the time withdrew funding and support of our ally that the south was defeated. The US did not retreat. We honored the terms NV later violated.

The us won every battle in the vietnam war, the only reason we lost was because of public support at home and the fact that we would not invade north vietnam.

I read a lot about the battle of Mogadishu after watching this film. The youngest US soldier to die there was 21. I'm 24 and don't feel like I've lived enough yet. Dying at 21, that's just tragic. The guy is a fucking hero, they all are, but it makes me wonder if it was worth sending them.

@spyk316 Iran-Contra affair is about US selling weapons via arms dealers to Africa, it was never fully uncovered because alot of documents were burned but we know that Lt. Colonel Oliver North gave weapons to an unknow arms dealer to sell it to his customers about 75% of the income from those sales went to US Government 25% went to Oliver North and the arms dealer. US storages tons of weapons and ammo and they cant afford to bring them back so they make new ones.

We were forced to nuke the Japs, it was an all out war, the situation was different. And if we hadn't nuked them probably more would've died by the war stretching beyond 1945. If anyone requires any history classes its you, I doubt you even American. In Nam we went there to HELP them, in hindsight we should not have but ours is a greatly mis-understood nation. @ikelleners Actually I can argue with that because your statement is historically wrong. America withdrew in accordance with agreements made with NV at the Paris Peace Accords. NV then violated those agreements by invading SV. SV defeated NV in the Easter Offensive (google it you might learn something). It was only after the Democratic government at the time withdrew funding and support of our ally that the south was defeated. The US did not retreat. We honored the terms NV later violated.

@ikelleners if you knew anything about vietnam you would know that the u.s. had already left the war and signed a peace treaty with the north , the north waited until the u.s. pulled out and then invaded(breaking the treaty in the process), thats when the nva took saigon. The us won every battle in the vietnam war, the only reason we lost was because of public support at home and the fact that we would not invade north vietnam.

@Menties1 Ok you are right, i admit the vc won those battles, however my point still stands that the u.s. won most of the battles and we only "lost" the war was because of our lack of public support as the war drew on, and our reluctance to actually invade the north. The north were only able to break the peace treaty and beat the south , after the us pulled out. If we did actually invade the north, the outcome of the war would have been very different.

So who won that war? Germany? It matters about last man standing which was vietnam. And It matters about who get own goal and who not. I read a lot about the battle of Mogadishu after watching this film. The youngest US soldier to die there was 21. I'm 24 and don't feel like I've lived enough yet. Dying at 21, that's just tragic. The guy is a fucking hero, they all are, but it makes me wonder if it was worth sending them.
