my favorite part is at the end of the video when Brian shows us the back of his guitar and there is an Easy Street Records sticker from Seattle. I totally met Brian and Alex at Easy Street for an instore performance. awesome!
No offense intended to any fans of David Letterman or David Letterman himself but he probably forgot the name of the Gaslight Anthem because he's getting on in years, hell I forget the most basic shit from time to time and I'm nineteen years old!!! Besides, he must meet alot of different bands, musicians etc. in his career. Anyways they rocked it as per usual!!!
I hate it how Letterman has to look at the album cover at the end to remember which band is playing. Kind of takes the sincerity of his "nice to see you again" comment right before that
I dont know how prevelent it is to everybody, but can the alex's ever get on the same key as brian vocally, every live performance seems to have these guys horribly off key with the back up vocals and its always the only thing keeping their performances from being perfect.
Im not trying to say their shit because their one of my favorite groups, just my one grip about them
@markkramedoyle The main reason this blows the studio version out the of the water is that there is dynamics here... Unfortunately the recording (like most modern recordings) has had all the life squashed out of it by way too much compression and limiting in the mixing and mastering process. I hope that trend is reversed soon. It's become absolutely ridiculous. Bring back dynamics in recorded music !!!
@GamerGeek227 Saw them last month,I've seen Pearl Jam,Springsteen,REM,Smashing Pumpkins,Green Day and all the best of em loads of times each and Gaslight Anthem were easily up there with any of them.Don't miss them if you get the chance to see them.
@LennonDylanBruce I wish Alex was playing his Fender Jaguar too though. This band just kind of seems like a "Fender band" for some reason. They just fit them all.
This makes me cry and smile every single time. Gotta love it!

Woah... this is good, but the backing vocals are very poor!

Backing vocals sound fairly weak, but everything else about this rendition is FANTASTIC! Blows the studio version out of the water.

I haven't wanted to see a band live so badly since Springsteen... I'm going to have to keep my eyes opened for tour dates around my area

Is it me or does Letterman call every band that comes on his show "a terrific rock n' roll band"? He said the same thing about the Foo Fighters!
ryan1234821 9 months ago 3
@ryan1234821 Well typically he will say that about all bands because he is trying to promote these bands.
