The answer is he probably didn't know. You can hit a deer driving a good size tractor and not even feel it. So did he know. Probably not till he got to a TS and performed a post trip inspection and then said. "Well shit....I hope it didn't do any damage" scapes off the deer and proceeds on. happens al the time.

Btw if this happens to you and the deer doesnt walk of but just lies on the ground screaming of pain call the animal ambulance if its like a broken leg if his intestents are all over the place drive over its head thats more humane than letting it slowly die.
