  • Now this brings me back!

  • My friends & I had a front row seat to watch Darby & The Headpins perform at the old Coronet Bar in Kitchener, Ontario back in the early 80's. Got there a little bit early, but we lucked out because we got a private concert of sorts watching her rehearse for later that night. Up close....Darby is doubly hot! She fueled my fantasies for months afterwards!

  • Only Darby Mills and The Headpins can make a commercial Kitchen seem cool

( for those who watched Canada's SCTV, this video reminds me of their version of 3D TV lol)

  • I dunno how many times I've watched this video - I can't seem to get the song out of my head. It's awesome.

  • Darby is HOT!

  • What an ICON...

  • eh capitano giglio!

  • Saw this group again in 2011 at Spanish's Rock 'n Roar after seeing them way back in 1982 when they opened for the Payolas. And Darby can still bust a lung just like she could back then.

  • I worked at the Hotel where this music video was shot. I was there watching them film this for most of the night. I had to work around the shoot. It was kinda fun and everyone was really nice.

  • vegan or die 2012

  • my bro saw headpins open for kiss in 1983, Maple leaf gardens , Toronto

  • This is real rock n roll, and Darby is sexy as hell.

  • I don't know what I like best about this one; Darby Mills in that little dress, or the fact that the three guys - despite being amazing musicians - have absolutely no rhythm when they try to dance in the kitchen.

  • Brian-Too Loud- MacLeod... R.I.P. :(

  • @pulpBleacher Wasn't he originally with Chilliwack?

  • @MrCarl220 The Headpins in essence were Chilliwack, they added Darby Mills pounding vocals

  • Man this takes me back!! Partying in my parents basement cranking the old Pioneer SA8800 and loving life!!!

  • it drives me insane when i watch her mover hair towards The End Lolz

  • Man....that guitar sound just like the Chilliwack band......cool

  • more than 20 yrs since it left the speaker & parked in my ear. thanks.

  • Darby Mills is a rockin' chick!

  • Some DJ in La Grande, Oregon played this song on the radio all the time...and it really caught on.

  • I love these guys, amazing wish I had seen them in concert!

  • badass guitar

  • Just put a lfag over Darby's face and do her for the country/

  • Does this video get all jarbled when anyone else fullscreens it?

It's only this video...other videos play fine for me in full screen..

  • darby mills rocks this was the song of the 80s hard rock at its best foe canada.

  • super hot

  • Back in the day where the female musicians didnt have to show the whole world their hole to the world to get noticed!

  • @usualperson I graduated with her...rock and roll...:)

  • This is the kinda woman you want to have bent over and screaming 'F*** ME HARDER'.....that voice is just yummy

  • @TheCJShamelessFTW I

I was 16 years old back in 1983 when I saw Headpins and she looked HOT! She was in a one piece tight leotard suit. Mercy! I was shaken for days after that, couldn't concentrate on anything.

  • Back in the days when music had talent

  • Your right, just look at justin bebier. The music industry is fixed

  • @thehubbtrain Amen!!

  • Back to the Future movie, Michael J Fox's character, Marty is asked by Huey Lewis "what's the name of your band" He says "The Pinheads". Obviously switched around from the guys/girls.

  • listen to the beaaatt me and him cruisin in his carrr... ASSHOLLEEE

  • @carl22069 We still do some of the best artists today are from canada !!!

  • OMG the memories almost felt like being there

  • Great song and great fun-vid !

  • darby mills came to my house and bought my fish tank today

  • Comment removed

  • I was one bad ass dude in the 80's wearin jean shirts, jean jackets, jean scarfs, jean bandanas, jeans, and jean shoes... man i was a biker

  • would their french name of the band be "le pinheads?"

  • @kokanee2010a "La Pins de la Tete" ( the pins of the head) lol bloody k-bek language laws...

  • These guys got me through the 80's, one pal turned my on and it was a go, he also turned me onto a book style, fab, Tammy Mast, Your Royal Countess, Savior Healer

  • they're playing in my town tonight which only has around 1,000 people, but there are like 3,500 people at the concert.

  • DOUGHNUTS wOOt

  • AWESOME CONCERT

  • Darby Had Quite The Lovely Thighs Back In Da Day Me Says!

  • Amazing powerful vocal!

  • 488 winners and 8 loosers

  • After all the time it still makes me feel like dancing...

    g

  • when i was in grade 9... this song used to give me goose bumps... 24 yrs later it stilllllll has it.... thanks..

  • still the best music ever put out

  • I just love Darby Mills 8))

  • I love cheesy 80's videos...they're the best!

  • @wisers001 I know we haven't met yet but your a chip off the old block kid, I'm your dad! Good tunes, good band in their day. Brings back great memories and thats what it is all about. Young people will realize this themselves 30 years from now when nobody will want to listen to the music they liked in their day.

  • @deadmanprodinc - so true pops!

  • @carl22069 Yeah,Canada sure has but, these clowns were not one of them..Sad that members of Chilliwack chose to help out this skank Darby Mills..

  • The singer wails! I thought it was Lee Aaron

  • Who are these dudes with Darby? Where are Brian and AB?

  • ugly but can sing

  • i took my mother to this concert when i was 14 in Brandon MB> Man we laughed our asses off because the whole place was filled with pot smoke !! LOL. Even my mom got into the tunes (who never smoked a cigarette in her life) LOL. never forget this !

  • @wisers001 Brandon Manitoba? Canada's 2nd biggest shithole city! I was there then,, I think i might've taken your Mom home that night !! Ahem,,,Son?? LOL

  • @wrxmike123 --- LOL but with your face you would have no luck.

  • Oh my god - that voice! Unforgettable. I miss my ConCan, lol.

  • Good voice, average music.

  • awwwww high school memories

  • wow she was smoking hot back then, loving backup singers, comical indeed

  • i love it xxxx

  • Dam son she was so hot back in her day

  • I forgot how high the cheeze factor was in these early 80's videos. The music was good though. This album provided the soundtrack to some good parties.

BTW todays top 40 vids are just as cheezy, just a different flavor. Good cheeze needs some vintage to reveal its true self.......todays stuff will look just as ridiculous 30yrs from now. lol

  • love it.......;-))))

  • 8 people obviously either don't feel like dancing or are offended by Darby's outfit in this vid.

  • Comment removed

  • This ought to be the official theme song to March Madness.

Don't it make you feel like dancing...being in the Big Dance?

  • @Lostworld94 Daniel Powter as in the "Had a Bad Day" (what an annoying sucky soft rock song) one hit wonder (at least here in America) dude?

  • What album is this song on? Anybody have any ideas?

  • @bucky468 Check on screen bucky: 0:25 ... TURN IT LOUD

  • @jdolew Sorry the letters were fuzzy. Could not make them out.

How did this song do in Canada? Did it hit the pop charts? Top 40?

  • @bucky468 i think it did fairly well here. Top 20 or so I read. if you google "Canadian Chart Hits of the 80s" the second top result will show this song as #21 of all Canadian songs in the 80s. I think the rating is subjective, but at least partly based on sales.

  • @bucky468

It should be on " Turn It Loud" .

  • Im about to post something by Ripchords

  • What a voice!

  • saw the HEADPINS in a small club in 83/84 all i can say is DARBY MILLS brought the house down.

  • canada really does have a great nack for poppin out great artists. music and fine arts.

  • Yes I do feel like dancing!!

  • Love Darby too. She's cousins with a school mate of mine in Kamloops. She was buddies with the neighbor in our duplex. I was gonna get introduced, but I wasn't at home!! Damn!

  • those canadian girls never seen to age well. anybody seen Sandy Horne from the Spoons lately? she seems like she would still be good...

  • Does their song "You're Still the One" have a music video to it? I can't seem to find it on YouTube.

  • @theriffmill Brian "Too Loud" MacLeod ... Died many years ago...RIP Brian, You ROCKED!

  • why do the backup vocals sound British? Are they from B.C?

  • @Knucklesound the band was from b.c., but i find the accent to sound more like surfer-dude-(jeff spicolli)-west-coast than british -- why does billie joe from "green day" put on an accent though?

  • Pour it on D A R B Y !!!!

  • All I have to say is:

    CANADA ROCKS, BABY !!

    From Canda, with love.

  • Those who don't feel like dancing, sign up as crash test dummies!

  • COOKS!

  • I wonder who gives these great songs thumbs down? Al Queda?

  • That's one SEXY girl !!!

  • @adrahaxxen

I saw her live back in 83'. And I can attest to the validity of your statement. This 16 year old (at the time) was infatuated by her. I couldn't think of anything else for days!

I can still remember what she was wearing!

BTW, another great Canadian group was with them. Saga.

  • Head pins

    Harlequin

    Toronto

    Streetheart,

first concert i saw.Still remember it!

  • "Super Hit" of 1982 on "turn it...LOUD"! album, heard this one all over, back then, fantastic tune.

What a voice miss Mills, one of the best "Female Rocker" voice for sure....still today!!!

  • I love being Canadian. Bands like Fist, Anvil, Headpins, Chilliwack, Toronto, Rush, etc

  • super groupe

  • LOL, I always thought the Evil Dead chick Cheryl (Ellen Sandweiss) and the Headpins lead singer Darby Mills were the same person. They were both super hot in their day and both have aged remarkably.

  • what vocals!

  • makes ya proud to be Canadian! eh

  • Back in the days when rock stars lampooned corporate jocks.

Now they are corporate jocks. Sigh.

  • @Yakovlievich Some are. Headpins are running the bar scene, along with most of the b-list musicians from the 80's. They don't have gold plated cars, they have families to feed.

  • @MetulManiac I wasn't meaning to say that Headpins were corporate jocks. But still, your comment is a fair one.

  • Saw them with KISS in toronto...Great show...

  • Saw them back up KISS in Toronto...Great show...

  • LOL was on a bus in Kelowna And a young kid comes on and is triping to his friends about this new band he heard AC,DC lol they are always going to ge there Headpins is one of those bands, XOXO

  • Doughnuts make ya feel all RIGHT!

    ;^)

  • is this song about doing drugs is that why it was not a bigger hit

  • The Female 'Dio' plain and simple.

  • There is a few of us that would go to the Misty Moon around 5:00pm to get the best spot on the FLOOR, just to see the SHOW!!

Sitting on the floor when the Place was empty seemed a little crazy even for me!!

Yet at 02:00 the Beer Staff all knew where we were, and what we drank and even just when to bring it!!

AWESOME and just a little on the LOUD side!!!

    NOT!

You could see the sound waves, as they passed threw the people!!!

    Then She would Scream!!

    WOW!

  • I was named after her haha

  • so it seems i heard this band for the very first time on the radio, i would ve bet my bank account it was Geddy Lee of Rush singing, she sounds like identical to him

  • @sabianrox1

HA! Geddy Lee was the Rush killer. I love Rush, but that whiny voice sent more Rock fans scurrying than when KISS played disco.

  • @Grungadin i dunno if it was actually his voice or just the fact that it was coming from a male hahaha i personally love it, but then again i am a Rush freak lol. i dunno just seems in my opinion this Darby Mills sounds very much like geddy did in the early Rush material like Rush and caress of steel

  • Probably the best female rock voice ever !!

  • I know darby mills personally, One of her sons is my friend its so awesome!

  • Darby is one great lady with such a tremendous vocal range !!! - more 80's type music that is classic today!

  • Sweet Meories of my party days

  • Saw them at McMahon Stadium in Calgary in 1981 with The Payolas. What a night of powerhouse sound that was.

  • heres some ole school ,pauls time luv my past

  • Having sat in too many boring meetings I really enjoy this video. I still have fond memories of listening to a robot consultant present a report on Sanitary flow in two hours that I read in 15 minutes. Sad part is I could of done that report myself for about 20K less.

  • What a hot chick- she would'a

been an incredible lay, back then.

'Course now, she's probl'y old and

    fat.

Well. they all go that way ; what

    can ya do?

  • @maxhead25 Since when is she old and fat check out this vid: watch?v=VCCx5mPXf1k She still looks and sounds the same as the 80's.

  • @maxhead25 get a life

  • love these guy's , but growing in T.O. there was always great rock

  • Hey Dad Nice Chef Hat and Egg Beater's, Hows the Champagne??? Love Allison :) lol

  • Strong voice!! Oh Canada, we stand on guard for thee.............

  • ontario pc liberals suck/i want a job/less rules/mor freedom/i need job,,,

  • On my flight back from florida I was with them on the plane... how awesome is that!!!

  • Saw them in Zurdorf,Germany .they kicked ass. cant even remember who they opened for.lol

  • @robhsmi That's because they were likely the lead act. Let someone open for THEM because they're better than 90% of the shit acts out there today.

  • Up until now I always thought Pat Benatar sang this song.

  • Awesome song, brings me back!

  • @lauranbri it says: there was a time when music was created with a goal, more than money, soul I believe is what person is getting at. This song is all about that. Way back when the 80's where all about soul! and the other part was the singer of this video really liked to sing. hope this helps!

  • Great riff...

  • Comment removed

  • @lauranbri translated: it used to be that music was made with a goal other than money and that the singer looks like she really likes singing

  • Y'avait un temps que la musique était composée avec un but autre que la $. J'chu sure que ste chanteuse là aime vraiment chanter.

  • I Wonder If She Can Still Sqeal the way she use too

  • I think Darby could have been a porn queen. She'd have an AWESOME scream.

  • 2:10 Is that a beater in your pocket?...

  • Gotta love Brian "Too Loud" McLeod's guitar tone!

  • headpins are some of chilliwack dont cha hear that

  • Saw this powerhouse group in 1981 at McMahon Stadium in Calgary. It was during the Calgary Stampede and the summer was gorgeous. The Payolas opened up for them and the sound was so crisp and the drum bass was so powerful that it was making my heart skip a beat as I was about 20 feet from the speakers on the stage. I couldn't hear properly for two weeks.

  • Good rockin music with a great beat.

  • She's pretty hot! Like it when she lets her hair down at 2:59!

  • This is just a kick ass song. The end :)

  • did you know that chrissy steele took her place and named it after herself instead. the record producer did that for her. too bad music like this isn't around anymore!

  • I sat next to darby mills and one of the guys from the group on a plane to calgary from toronto once had some great converstaion with them both got to share a few beer on the way also

  • holy...1982.........has it been that long? WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED? hehehe i Luv Streetheart.

  • Darby!!!

  • Comment removed

  • I saw the Headpins back in either '79 or '80 (can't recall exactly) on Halloween night at Gary Taylors' Rock Room in Vancouver. Darby was dressed as a guy and Brian and the boys where decked out as women for the festivities.

Turns out there was also a "bare as you dare" contest that night.

I ran into an ex old lady that night but all was cool with my new (at the time) gal.

    Great night ... Cheers, Frazzo.

  • NICE VOICE GREAT PIECE OF ASS

  • saw in edmonton 2009 at the casino

incredible as ever rocked me all evening

also in 1989 as plain jane told darby i was the bands biggest fan she wasnt imopressed colin baker

  • ya but was the casino concert as filled as the 1989 concert was?

  • WOW! Long time since I heard this song! Thanks for the trip down memory lane :) This Canadian girl would love to experience the 80s again! Keep Rockin!!! Blondie^~^

  • gotta love the shock look at 2:13. lmao. priceless.

  • okay - it was Denise MCann - wife of Randy Bachman (god) caught them in New West very early on ie. before Darby Mills - so I am an old fart so what

  • Hate to tell you all but Darby Mills was not the first lead singer of Headpins - the band was a break band for Chiliwack - sorry for spelling mistakes but found this very late at night and pissed - more to come when I remember
