Yes it does, the principles on which shiatsu is based are 4000 years old ;) (chinese medicin).

If you suffer from insomniac it could be what shiatsu operators call an "agitated shen" problem.

In this case you could also try this:

turn your left palm upward and then with your right thumb press the final right part of your wrist. hold the pressure there and take deep breaths listening to yourself.

This way you press a very important point on the heart radiant and that can help calm your shen
