  • GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH!

  • rofl persuading the soldiers..

  • ;_; this is beautiful

  • @Devoti lol

  • 8:00 If it wasn't for that asshole with the molotov they might have had their revolution.

P.S. Who thinks China should try again? It worked with the Arab Spring, and if you liberate China you've really knocked out a major ally for Kim Jong Nutcase.

  • @nliausacmmv Or you let Kim die on his own. :D

  • @lllOddPandoralll Oh wait he just did! (He was alive when I posted this.) Seriously, will Kim Jong Un be any better?

  • Does this make anyone cry?

  • The women interviewed was wrong when she said the only people that were not demonstrating were those at the top. Then General Secretary of the Party Zhao Ziyang was sympathetic toward the students, which is one of the main reasons he was removed from office by Deng. There are ( or were lol, really not sure about present day) in fact benevolent Communist high officials out there.

  • I RESPECT THE MAN IN THE TANK.. MUGS

  • June 1989 and now, October 2011. Has China advanced? Have Chinese more freedom then than now? Will the Army be used against its people again? Still the people are suppressed without freedom of speech. Do they despair of good Government. Maybe it is time for the Preferred Chinese Communist Party to take the lead?

  • This guy ended the cold war he cripped communist and for what he did he should get noble peace prize as he would be the first to earn it.

  • @machado231097 Very well said.

  • in other words some braindead lady just spent 2 minuted describing standard military fmj bullets as "like dum-dums that shouldnt be used in an urban setting"

  • @machado231097 And sometimes, the only thing a man is capable of doing to help a cause along is clasp his hands in prayer. Until I have the time, money, or ability to help bring down the CCP, it is all I can do. Soon, I will be able to do more, but until then, I will continue to pray. Because miracles do happen. Prayer works. God works in mysterious, small ways. All because we pray.

  • @machado231097 - realism

  • Shit like this wouldn't happen in America, we would be too busy killing each other amidst the chaos, and the brainwashed soldiers would just massacre the remaining dissidents. Its sad as hell..

  • i wish this will happen in malaysia soon

  • Fair play to the people. I am convinced that one day freedom will come. You cannot hold back the people for ever.

  • Hearth breaking at 4:35

  • STAND UP AND SPEAK OUT!!!

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.” – Samuel Adams, speech at the Philadelphia State House on August 1, 1776.

  • Not wanting to hurt anybody but when the order from top comes all is forgotten and the shooting starts. Country folk... ha guess the country folk dont rilly care do they.

  • @2RayneR7 For years, the CCP had played up the tensions and differences between the peasants and the city. Then when the oppression began, they used this tension as a leverage to convince the soldiers to kill the citizens. These kind of collective govts tend to group people into collectives so that they do not look upon each other as people, but rather as rivals for supplies, power, and money.

  • @KellAnderson True words. But still the people have to be weak to be forced to kill their brethern so easily ;( I am sad about people living under such regimes. I have to know because my whole family lived under the communism which fell just before i was born. I was happy to only hear the stories of the horrors.

  • @2RayneR7 I hope they have the chance to live in freedom some day then. I hope it will happen in my lifetime, and I pray to God everyday that he gives the Chinese People the courage to undergo the Jasmine Revolution.

  • Why the FUCK would the bureaucracy proudly watch a massacre? are people that sick?

  • @Pcivygirl because these people were a threat to their power, and after fourty years, they had bought into their own propaganda about otherness. Those weren't people on the streets to them, they where resources who had proven themselves to no longer be of use. That is the problem of a collectivist state, you get forced into the group and no longer have value as an individual.

  • @Pcivygirl

    "are people that sick?"

    Yes.

  • I would like to say, the tanks NEVER crush the Tank Man.

  • Is the ''Tank Man'' alive?

  • @Southern999x no one knows who he was, what he did, or where he is, so who knows

  • @Southern999x well if he is he's definately in prison

  • @Southern999x he is actually not in prison and he is alive :P hope i am of help

  • @Southern999x No, he was executed by the chinese government shortly after doing his heroic deed.

  • @LaJ126 Do you think that he died in vain?

  • @Southern999x I know he didnt ^^

  • @Southern999x yes

  • @Southern999x

The "Tank Man" will never die my friend.

  • @Southern999x

There was never any proof of any sort, and I doubt anyone got many leads, but somehow I doubt he is still alive. If he is, then I wish him well, hopefully if he is, he isn't in some kind of camp or prison.

  • 人心向背啊……那时候的人们是多么天真纯朴又善良啊~~

  • does anybody think it is ok.. for an elected, picked, chosen, serving goverment, to use its military, (whose sole purpose is to defend the country) to turn its defensive forces, on the people who which they claim to serve and protect? does any1 not see this? its so FUCKED UP, unreal. im not afraid of tianamen square coming here, im afraid of no1 (myself included) doing nothing about it

  • Peaceful Protesting Never Works....

  • @Microglia1 ähm India

  • china educate us but...not too much please

  • The People's "Liberation" Army killing its own people? I don't believe it! (sarcasm)

  • On June 4th, 1989 tanks rolled into Tiananmen Square crushing a peaceful pro-democracy demonstration. Freedom and Human Rights for All people the CCP oppresses.

  • @bloodyhawk989

He didnt get crushed. His other towns people moved him out of the way.

  • @Pcivygirl i know re read what i said goof

  • @bloodyhawk989 LOL I can't, to many comments LOL I tried scanning the pages.

  • im so touched by that woman cause i know Chinese language and i feel her deeply

  • 20 years later the cpc is still in power

  • fu.k u .USA politicians

  • 1:56 -- "The move from student uprising to a worker uprising is what really scared the Chinese government. They felt that they could deal with the students... but where it became dangerous to the stability and to the survival of the Communist Party was when ordinary workers became involved."

THAT'S RIGHT! When you abuse the very people who put you in power in the first place, THEY WILL REVOLT!

  • PAY ATTENTION AMERICA!

  • 中国在1989年只是给世界留下了一个可以找茬的借口而已,而至于美国想怎么找茬,找什么样的茬最符合社会潮流就是美国人自己的事情了。

  • Ignorant Americans saying China blocked youtube, myspace, facebook etc, and yet they don't know Chinese people got youkou, qzone, xiaonei and way more video website and way more advanced network systems, .lStop crying and thinking China is completely isolated and Chinese are isolated from world events, China is not North Korea, people flies to China everyday. Chinese people have their own way of living stop forcing people to live your way and call that freedom. You have to live there to judge

  • @k1ller2one 美国人都他妈傻B

  • @k1ller2one I live there, and I can tell you that the things the PRC government does to restrict freedom are absolute bullshit. Just because there is youku does not mean it is ok to block other websites. Nobody is forcing anyone to do anything by commenting on a youtube page. In fact, it is the CCP forcing people to accept their censored internet. Maybe you should stop apologizing for the bullshit the CCP does, instead of telling other people to stop crying with your relativist garbage.

  • @RadiantMirage Yea, are you Chinese? If you speak fluent Chinese and live with Chinese then i accept your comment and in reply ill just say that the government in China is indeed a mess, many corrupted governers but everything is improving, i believe one day the Chinese government will change, but never ever like the western government who jokes about peace and freedom and yet they bombed other countries just to slay their leader when everyone in America is saying stop, that is real bullshit

  • In response to the discussion about ammunition types: The jacketed round, full metal jacket or FMJ is the standard ammunition of the world's military forces. Soft tipped small arms ammunition would do more damage than the FMJ; the former of which is not in compliance with the Hague Convention. In other words, whereas hollow point and soft-tipped bullets are designed to expand upon impact, full metal jacket bullets are limited in their capacity to expand by their alloy jacketing.

  • It is such a joke, as the narrator said, for the first time, the media starts to report freely and truthfully. There we see a newspaper, written in traditional Chinese.(PRC uses simplified Chinese). Chairman Deng is dead, No.27 army butchering through the city, and it is vividly described as, Chairman Deng fell many times and climbed up every time. The hospital has announced Chairman Deng as dead. I hope people here knows that Chairman Deng not only lived, but also served China greatly.

  • Totalitarianism in all it's form is cruel, unfair and disgusting in a way that it almost make me wanna cry :(

  • After these protests of State oppression Chinese leaders and government officials immediately began establishing safehouses across the world and hidden from the people. They are scared my friends, they are pacified of what their population is capable of. And when a new counterMao revolution is started, when the flame of freedom engulfs China there will be almost 2 billion strong against a shuddering and horrified Politburo and the powerful few. When the uprise begins it will be biblical. ;)

  • OH HELL NO!! That chinese dude said nigga at 2:23

  • @BobandSlawd Yee, we be liek "Did you jus' say nigga at 2:23? Oh no you di'in't!

  • @BobandSlawd "nigga" is actually pronoucned Nei ga. This is just a little shit word that we use. It's kinda of like "um.. yeah... like.. hmm" lol

  • @BobandSlawd

LOL! I'm taking Mandarin and they say that all the time, Ni Ge (你个) just means "you."

  • @BobandSlawd hate to rain on your parade, but 'niga' just means 'that'. You will hear it a lot if you're surrounded by mandarin/catonese speakers. the standup comic Russel Peters has a great stand up on that in fact.

  • @Shinhaquro dude it was a joke!!!!! >.< jeez

  • @BobandSlawd That would've been hilarious on some other video, but not here. Although it was an innocent joke, people are going to call you out as making fun of a certain culture. You really have to think about the content of the video. Funny jokes don't go on serious videos. Especially not videos like these.

  • @kango1170 lol it's called breaking the tension, but anyway i do comedy videos on my channel so if you ever watched my vids you'd have expected that from me lol

  • @BobandSlawd FUN FACT: The man at 2:23 wasn't being racist when he said 那个 (Nàgè). He was just saying "that".

  • @Portal3 dude i know!!! lol it was a joke -.-

  • @Portal3 lol i cracked up laughing when he said that

  • @Portal3 ji yang de 2:30 means like this.

  • @BobandSlawd hahahahahahahhaahhaha

  • @BobandSlawd Lmao!!!

  • @BobandSlawd Your4 being racist :)

  • @BobandSlawd your an idiot

  • @kraizil u have no sense of humor -.- IT WAS A JOKE!!!! -.- i know what it means -.-

  • @BobandSlawd well this videos kinda serious buddy

  • @kraizil it was to break the tension bruh.

  • @BobandSlawd i feel you

  • @kraizil yeah homes

  • @BobandSlawd You're a dunce.

  • @AsileeDotCom for the final time i know what it fuckin means, -.- i was jus makin a joke so STFU bro lol

  • @BobandSlawd You're still a fucking dunce.

  • @AsileeDotCom no my friend your a fucking dunce, for u have no sense of humour.

  • If a soldier receives an order to kill innocent civilians, he is expected to instead of following these orders, to take action against the one who issued the order instead. The Law takes priority over the people, but the people are still over the government. The law even states that if any unlawful order be given, even by the President of the United States, then it is our duty as a Citizen to overthrow not only him, but the government itself.

  • @48scorion sadly china's government doesn't work like that

  • Comment removed

  • Julian Assange!!!!

  • Shame on the Chinsese government, the people will one day get what they want.

  • fools~lol. these guys would help China become better? ~~

  • what i don't get is that the soldiers are regular people just like the protesters. how can they shoot someone that wants freedom, for you too.

  • @lachacon21 Some soldier will shoot you if you don't. Seriously. That's how crackdowns are always done.

  • I didnot know this, you tube thanks

  • Libya could turn into this.... Hopefully after Libya, it will wake up people in china as well.

  • @Adrianbudiman unfortunately Libya's leader is a complete psycho willing to kill all ct= citizens to stay in power

  • Who's left? the top leaders and the business people.

  • 美国不灭亡,让中国人民怎么敢推翻中共啊。

  • most chinks guy youtube is chinese secret police. they writting communist dictator`s propaganda over and over again. its their job, and also they hired so many to making propaganda too. you can search it in google (50 cent army), it so funny hahahaha

How China's '50 Cent Army' Could Wreck (Search Google =====> 50 Cent Army)

The CCP has hired thousands of freelance Internet propagandists whose job is to infiltrate chat rooms, message boards and comment areas-----(50 Cent Army)

  • freedom is an illusion on this planet! very very soon we will be walking around with chips under our skin. we will all be watched 24/7, we might just as well start worshipping the devil! our souls will be taken away from us. now that i see the fire we r heading into, how i wish i would have been born crazy and retarded. i think that when it really comes to it i m the type that just might decide to give up everything i "own" and just go live in rural parts of some country or island.

  • 13 hundred million people, we have plenty of traders and hot blood youths which could easily be mislead. They desirved to be Killed!!!! Well Done!!!!!

  • @jacksunjie what is wrong with you ?

  • @pconnors8 What's wrong with me??? I am the justice! like the Chinese Government, I support what they did! Just Well done, no other feeling!!

  • @jacksunjie you are clearly dillusional not raised right or sick in the head taking lives should not be done over events like these a life is a valuable thing and you clearly dont know that so I will not respond to any of your further comments

  • @pconnors8 Keep think like that, keep your hypocrisy! Cause beside daily morals, we are just the same.

  • 几年前看过 John Pomfret 的 Chinese Lessons. 很有意思的一本书,值得一读。他算是南大的校友,妻子也是中国人。

  • that's a badass revolution, too bad the people couldn't arm themselves

  • They will not control us, we will be victorious!

  • I remembered when I was in elementry my teacher use to let us read "TianAnMen Square", which is a novel based on the 6.4 event. In the book it says when the army arrived at first the people had been really nice to them, but the speaker in the film, the foreign one, assumed from the beginning the people hated the army...

hm~ the footage provided doesn't even say that...

it makes so much difference if you have a chinese that was involved in the event to talk about it rather than a foreigner.

  • I remembered in my elementry my teacher use to give us "tiananmen square" to read which is a story based on this event...

in the book it says when the army first arrived they are friendly people because they are 解放军,and people and army are very nice to each other... but in the video the talker assumed from the beginning they have been bad people and people wanted them to leave, hm~

it doesn't even speak from the footage they provided...

  • If you believe Tiananmen Square has been overlooked by your town,

simply get yourself a piece of cardboard, write "Tiananmen Square?" on it,

and stand on the side of the busiest road you can think of within your town.

  • The subtitles are off, the lady in the hat is saying:

Do you know what we are doing? (in a tone and phrasing implying the soldiers have been given the wrong info by the government)

Solider Brothers, you are supposed to protect humanity, protect students! You can not come in, can not do these things ( meaning what they were about to do which is obviously attack the protesters)

Do you understand? You can't do this, can't do this...

  • "overthrow fascism"

  • Comment removed

  • @Ambary2Shy violence will never be tolerated by any government even yours...mobs and robbers were among the protesters..action must be taken by the government therefore...

  • Capitalism takes over China

  • @SMGJohn

I know, now China is much worse than before because of all these capitalism...

    corruption become even worse too...

where is the good old time communism? it's gone after they decided to drop our iron rice bowl...

    evil Capitalism, : (

  • @ybyxk

Good lord man! Really? Every communist country has been based on fear and force. Perhaps we should begin to think that maybe there is something inherent in communism. I'd imagine its the perverse incentives and lack of oversight. One of the most illuminating questions that can be asked about collectivism ideologies is what always happens to the freedom of the press?

  • The sick thing is... in the end, the bad guys have won. This isn´t history. The biggest country is still ruled by people, who decided that slaughtering their own people is ok. This party is still in power today. That kinda makes mondial human rights a laughable thing.

  • don't blame the soldiers, they're just following the orders

  • the lady with the white hat, talking to the soldiers is like "LEAVE BRITANY ALONE!!!"

  • @Stickfigure311 Mr. Jintao, tear down this wall!

  • 11 illegitimate children of Mao have disliked this video!!!

  • I can just never understand how come with protesters in this kind of numbers spanning this wide of a spectrum from the entire society still failed so miserably.

  • @AquaExecution

stones and sticks against tanks and guns commanded by ruthless leaders? that's why.

  • If what you are saying is true honestly we need to talk to Julian assange and organise something so that all youth of china can learn the legacy of tank man

  • how can political leaders be so corrupted, harsh and heartless. the people clearly dont want them, but they just dont want to "lose", like an angry child with lots of guns

  • @MikeTupperTheKiller You said it in a brilliant way. Leaders are here to lead for the peoples' benefit. They are supposed to be the ones that are put into their situation of leadership because they help the people as they are fittest to lead....I thumbs up this comment 100X if I could.

  • @MikeTupperTheKiller My dad was there back in 89. today he says that because the government stopped the movement it give 20 years of peaceful development in china. This is not just from him but alot of his classmates today says the same thing when ever this conversation gets brought up. My father said that he was very ignorant and alot of the students were too back then, that they were there because it was all for fun. i didn't know what to say after he told me that.

  • @maritimezhang because the movement was stopped there was 20 years of peaceful development? Hu Jintao is a fool

  • @MikeTupperTheKiller When it comes to certain individual, it is always a different story. The truth is always the truth. In fact, if the students had succeeded, the situation might not be better than it is now. Tank man is surely a hero and a historical figure of human rights. However, the background consists of the safety of billions of Chinese people and the stability of the country, which is, as a matter of fact, ridiculously ignored by MANY people. It's sad people can't see the whole picture

  • @maritimezhang Yes! omg we have like the same parents! My mom says that too, and she was in the 89 movement too (but in GuangZhou) and she says that the students should not have succeeded. If they did, then "中国会乱成一堆麻." My parents occasionally discuss this subject but I don't know, I think my parents should be more credible than all other sources.

  • America is on the verge of disaster. Our government has betrayed the VOTING CITIZENS. Nothing will change in the USA unless Americans do what the brave Chinese Citizens did against the communist party.

  • @olbaid99 That's just a look-alike, cuz Ming was a 9-year-old kid then.

  • 1 man CAN make a change, so if your unhappy or unsatisfied YOU can do something about it... quit whinning world where the smartest on this planet and noone is born evil so we can make the world good, not better but good

  • I'm 14, this is my first time ever hearing about this man.

I don't understand why no one has told me about him.

  • 5.50 ,and now ,the story goes, those peasants- soldiers work to shit for that the city dwellers can afford cars and a western life style

    uncle-soldier...yea right

they should have killed them ,like in Romania

  • damn! sorry i didn't see my comments had been successfully posted. sorry guys...

  • Orville Schell said "for the first time press and tv were reporting freely and truthfully". but you know what? i see the headline read on the "East Daily" at 00:56 that "Deng Xiaoping was dead already". that's not "truthfully". by the way, you got to read it from right to left, that's the way to read newspaper then.
