Will this work as a 8 ch pre amp for home theator? ie.

PC > Aurora > HV-3R > Yamaha T5n (amp) > Speaker

@MKBEntertainment It's actually a mic preamp, so it's for recording, rather than playback. So, the aurora will work in the context you are talking about (incredibly high professeional resolution), but the Mic Preamp would not serve the function as a preamp device for playback. Hope that makes sense!

Is there a pre amp that you would recommend that would also work with play back? The reason I was looking at the HV-3R was it seems it is the cleanest pre, but didn't realize it wasn't designed for playback. Is there anything that extremely accurate that would work in the pro world?

@MKBEntertainment There are some nice options... but two completely different things- one being a mic preamp (for connecting to microphones for the purposes of recording, which is what this is), and the other being a preamp as a go between the sound source, and power amplifier, in a Hi-Fi or playback environment. We are the pros/experts in the recording side of the world, but when you get into playback preamps, that really ventures into the hi-fi world. But, we do sell amazing monitoring DA's
