eastman cellos are good, so are all of the popular brands (yamaha and such). A good student cello that will last for many years and keep good sound quality is about $825. (or that's how much mine is...) hope this helped!^^

That is Fantastic for your first Lesson! Amazing! Just a tip from a fellow cellist,,, hold your bow down lower to the bridge, it has a more vibrant sound down there, and it will play easier!

Hi guys, thanks for watching the video... Here's the story behind it: I actually play violin. I was just fooling around with a cello before a concert. I've never taken cello lessons, as is probably obvious. I think it was put up for blackmail by a dear friend of mine...maybe you can tell I have violin vibrato?? I know it's pretty bad, but thanks for the nice comments though (well, most of you :)

Also, you might want to raise the cello a bit (and come closer), otherwise, when you become more advanced, you'll have trouble with shifting and other technique due to posture.

i'll just be honest. ick. i'm twelve, i play the cello. i think you should try the suzuki method. it works sooo much better than the one you're using. there are ten books and i'm on the sixth and seventh right now. it might take a while to get through the first one, though.

I play the cello too, and when I was using the Strictly Strings book a LONG time ago, the Pachebele canon was SO boring because for like 12 measures it was the same note over and over again. But I got pretty good at it, then recorded both parts. XD

Check out my vid, Pachebele Canon Remix. I managed to make it slightly more enjoyable. :P
