Agreed that suggesting he's check-raising the river is nonsense. It's very unlikely that he has a full house because of the checked flop and raised turn, and the straigh flush is out of the question.
Pretty sure he put him on the ace of hearth, so it's a pretty good fold imo.
i'll never understand how this is considered a great play. he literally can only beat a bluff. and norman chad is RETARDED for suggesting that he could check-raise there on a 4-suited paired board with the second nut flush. he has to believe that demidov is bluffing this 1/3 of the time for this to be a profitable call. And considering demidov made a 1/2 pot value bet, the chances that he's bluffing are like 1/10
One other point .. you can see that Ylon and Ivan were somewhat chummy at the table because of the banter preflop. I also think Ylon and Peter Eastgate were chummy as well. They had months before the final table and some of the players got to know each other. Ylon even said this on his exit interview. Makes a difference on a big hand like this.
Ylon is a good friend of mine.... He told me why he folded this hand. 1 simple reason. $345,000. Basically the difference between being wrong and right. Another player was very shrtstacked and ylon didnt want put his tournament or his stack at risk in a position to move up in the money on an iffy board. Smart mathmatical move no money odds in a call also said Ivan had been a rock and it was pretty obvious by the faces he made after the turn card came out. REFERENCE 1:26 into the video.
Ye that face he makes is the classic "weak = strong" .His expression is to convey the feeling of, " oooo, 4 to a flush, thats interesting", but of course we know hes thinking ,"yasss the nuts how can i get the most value"
Demidov is easily overlooked in this vid. I think he played this hand a lot better than Schwartz did. By raising on the turn, he was able to extract maximum value out of Schwartz. Why else would he raise? He had the nuts. He must've known that Schwartz would fold to any bet on the river, so he had to raise the turn because he knew he would get paid off there.

ylon's laydown was a big laydown but far from the greatest. if ylon had nut flush and he folded AND demidov happen to have a straigth flush in that sitution, that would be an AMAZING laydown..on par with folding a full house.
if he gets reraised on turn ylon most likely has a flush in which case demidov is only 3:1 underdog to hit at best. YLON PUT DEMIDOV ON THE NUT FLUSH OR POSSIBLY EVEN A STRAIGHT FLUSH. THOSE WERE THE ONLY POSSIBLE HANDS DEMIDOV COULD HAVE OTHER THAN A BLUFF
wow...people here really have no clue. ylon didn't put demidov on a full house..if demidov had a set on turn he wo.uld never raise the turn. if he gets reraised on turn ylon most likely has a flush in which case demidov is only 3:1 underdog to hit at best.
whoah thats amazing.. yeah true, ylon just put demidov on a good hand on the turn (set most probable, or obv the nut flush) and when the board paired he thought he was behind on demidov's range.. but wow, still an amazing fold there. too bad he didnt openfold :))
I agree with you totally. Some people wonder "How did he put him on the nut flush??" He most likely didnt. If the board didnt pair, ylon wouldve just called the bet on the river.

Um, 10/8 H and 8/6 H is the same hand, they're both the nuts. The nuts means the unbeatable hand. And how could you go on lmao?

Demidov's raise on the turn was correctly read by Schwartz as a misplaced reversed tell.

nah, i think he had him on the nut flush, not FH.

not true, watch full house vs. full house by romanello. this was great but a little easier because of the pair on the board, but still great.

oh yeah, my bad...forgot about that hand, it was day 1 feature table
