The fear about the tasers is because it is predominately non lethal, suspects know their is a much greater chance of them using it, as opposed to a gun. Hence arises fear due to lack of doubt.

Yep,the Armed Offenders Squad is too slow to mobilize and deploy,but you don't have to outright arm the officers.Keeping a Rifle in the Boot of the car should do the trick.If the offender has a firearm,fall back to your car,evacuate civillians and then take cover with the rifle.

Saying tazers kill is like protecting the crinmals. The police isnt just going to pull a tazer and shoot without warning. If the tazer is going to get people to hand themselves over peacefully then why not use it. If you choose to go down a path in life that leads you to end up facing a police officer holding a gun or a taser at you and you also have a bad ticker - wouldn't either weapon used on you have a good chance at causing so much trauma to your heart that it's possible it could kill you. I mean, I don't really know the specifics or stats but I think I'd rather face the taser and overall, I think I'd rather lead a nice lawfully abiding life that doesn't end up in such a predicament anyway.
