  • nice, gorgeous, fantastic!!! i like it so much!!

  • This strip thing looks easy and looks like it won't leave a bump. I am going to check out your website now. Thanks for sharing! I, too will look for your book.

  • @Seidz4 Thank you! You can find the book on Amazon or BookDepository [dot] com for international orders :)

  • @Justme293 The sashing is a whole chapter in the book so this video just gives a short overview of how it looks when it's done and how quickly it goes once you've studied the technique. If you can, see if your local library has the book or if they can borrow it from another library and you'll see the many steps for sashing a quilt = I hope you like it :)

  • I am not understanding the step where you attach the sashing. Is the sashing strip folded in half or what do you do with the raw edges?

  • @Justme293 i think that they simply add a strip to each side seperatly... i just don't know exactly how they "join the strips together"... watch it and you'll see what i mean??

  • I'm still amazed at how awesome these look with all the wild looking patterns and prints I would never think to buy. I think I might make a simple "granny quilt" with the red and white triangle squares pattern. I had one once and it was my favorite blanket/ bed cover. It was made from old cotton so it eventually wore out and fell apart.

  • When you sew the pieces together with the decorative stitching do you put the little pieces right sides together, or do you lay them flat side by side?

  • Whats wrong with using enthusiasm? Quilting is fun!

  • thank you, thank you! I always wondered what you did with the sashing-if you put batting in it or not. This explains it, and I am going to try it. thnaks again. I'll be looking for your book as well.

  • @upwards11 Well, there are lots of methods of doing quilt-as-you-go and some add batting but our method doesn't and we love how simple it is ;)

I hope you like how it works and let me know if you need any help, okay? Marguerita

  • This is gorgeous! I have only quilted by hand before, but this makes me want to get to know my sewing machine better.

  • @MoonbridgeBooks Ooooohhhh, don't get me started on sewing machines (especially the OLD ones)- I LOVE them! I have started collecting them and even wrote about them on Instructables. Dust off that machine and have some fun!

  • This is totally awesome!! If you've seen my latest quilting video, it will be perfect for the "quilting as you go process"!!!! I'm very excited to try this! Thank you so much!!

  • @thoeckel I am watching your vids - great blocks and wonderful colors! I can't wait to see it all come together :)

  • Hmmmm Looks simple enough and I like the idea about all the different stitch patterns. Good way to run all those discs and stuff. >;o)

  • @sewingmachineheaven Oh yes- - I love sitting in front of my machine trying to decide which stitch to use on every seam :) I have a few favorite stitches that I use a lot, but it is fun to try new ones AND remember that you can change the look of every stitch by changing the width and length. I do that a lot with the satin stitches. Have fun! Marguerita :)

  • WOW! A week ago I decided that I wanted to try to make a quilt and went to walmart and bought me fabric and cutters, the mat, etc! I even got a sewing machine... but "quilting" the quilt seemed too hard... but doing it your way looks much easier.. I will try!!!

  • @inlove0395 Cool! Have fun and just enjoy the process. Our motto is "Done is better than Perfect!" :)

  • Thank you for sharing with me. Very nice.

  • I love the quilt you made and the colors are so pretty. I have never made a quilt on my sewing machine yet. I've made a few quilts and they have all been by hand. I'm excited to start working on quilting again.

  • I received my book today and was just refreshing myself on the cutting and piecing process. The sashing process seems to be the trickiest.

  • Hi, email me if there is anything I can help you with :) ~Marguerita :)

  • Can you buy the book from you?

  • Hi NinaJeanette2, we don't have a webstore (yet!) so the best thing I can recommend is your local quilt shop or online at amazon . com.

Thanks so very much and happy quilting! Marguerita

  • I don't understand how you connect the finished blocks together :(

  • Hi, Thank you for your comment! The techniques we demonstrate are from the book Crazy Shortcut Quilts and this is just a quick overview for anyone who is thinking about buying the book or learning our techniques :) The chapter about connecting the blocks is a very detailed one with lots of photos. It is a very popular book & can be found in Quilt Stores, Book Stores, Libraries, or your Local Quilt Shop may even be teaching this as a class! Thanks so very much for watching! Marguerita :)
