I remember in your previous video you had a boa, I think it was the true red tail, that you thought was a girl that was actually a boy that you named Larry... I didn't see him in there. I was thinking in the previous episode when you showed your cage for Sam that it looked too small for her, and then when you put her in I was like O_O wtf? How does she fit!? and it just confused me, and I said to myself "What's with that tiny cave rock? She can't possibly fit!" but I just saw it. Crazy.

This may be a stupid question but what are those tubs filled with dirt or whatever for?

not a dumb question at all... and ur right. it is dirt, bark really. The bark holds humidity very well and leaving it in the tub makes a different temperature/humidity zone than the rest of the tank. It also keep the wet dirt/bark from getting the rest of the cage all dirty. I learned that trick from Rich Ihle and VPI's dvd on boas and it works great :)

some will, some wont... but its usually a good idea to wait for feeding. You dont want them to have a big lump and be trying to shed their skin:)

Man all your boas are alive and active..My female boa just sleeps in her sweater box or lays in her water container or basks. Thats pretty much it..She is only active when she is hungry. Damn, it really makes a lot of diffrence with some plants in there..Mine looks naked but I will change that soon. Is your last female boa same category boa as mine? The paper I got from Petco only says (baby red tail boa). I will look it up in my Snake Bible..Then I will tell you what I find.

lol, dead and active would be a sight ;) If I had to guess, I would say that yes, ours are the same type... I cant be 100% just from looking, but i would guess that yours is a normal colombian boa... Boa Constrictor Imperator. Not a true red tail boa which are the BCC's. Boa Constrictor Constrictor... she's still a beauty though:) People making labels at Petco just slap them on the cage sometimes without 'crossing the t's and dotting the i's' if you know what i mean...

It's a really cool idea I got from Rich Ihle at Salmonboa. I use aspen as the substrate for the cage because its easier to see when the animal goes to the bathroom. But wood chips hold humidity a LOT better. However, the wood spreads dirt and is tough to tell when its been soiled. SOO, i use both. I keep the wood in the tubs and spray it down to hold humidity, but since its in the tub, its much easier to clean and manage... just a nice trick of the trade from a pro like Rich! :D

absolutely... i will DEFINITELY ship anywhere in the world. Its SOOO much easier to get CITES permits in Canada as opposed to the states where it takes MONTHS and MONTHS! We can get the permits here in under 2 weeks! :D It's a bit out in the future, but I'll definitely let you know when I start breeding the boas :D
