How do you get the blizzard ring in this stage

There is a chart to show you the drops from the boss and such but it's really difficult for me to describe, I suggest you google it.

I saw in part 19 where you got the blizzard ring, however I did the same thing and the ring didn't appear when you defeated the bird. what happened.

like I said the drop rates and etc are confusing and you need a chart you can google it, but getting the griffin to drop the blizzard is completely random.
