When hosting a party for an older child, things to consider and discuss with your young adult are: Number of guests, Venue, Rules of acceptable behaviour, What happens if uninvited guests turn up, Hours of party, Music and noice levels, Clean up and set up responsibilities, Food, Drinking rules - permissions, Activities during party. I find that setting a budget and getting your child involved, and being completely clear about responsibilities will make for a successful night for all.
