What kind of sealer is that? I wanted to have my roof sealed, some guys come and wated to spray it with some thick stuff like paint.

Hi, I've got a question if you don't mind. Do you happen to know if loose fill asbestos insulation was ever used in apartment buildings in the United States? I've heard of a material known as Zonolite that may or may not contain amphibole asbestos, but I was wondering if loose fill and/or asbestos batts were ever used as loft insulation here in the United States. I apologize in advance if you are not sure as I am aware that you live down in Australia. Thanks!

My pops old house had a large shed with an asbestos roof.

once the roof is sealed how long does the seal last? I understand the asbestos is contained but in the future will need to be sealed again ?

No. The entire roof (with the exception of the corrrogated iron panels) is asbestos. It is a widely used product called super 6 which was predominately used for building roofs up till around 1975, it is no longer used as it is now seen as unsafe.
