  • Nigger was their alt-Ego band.

  • Love this song. The rock radio station I used to listen to played this all the time and I would crank it in my car and sing along. ahhhh the good old days, LOL

  • There was a time when I was ABSOLUTLY IN LOVE with this song...AH STILL AM!!

  • Double 90's throwback - Cracker and Sandra Bernhardt!!!

  • If you guys like Cracker you guys will love this band.. check them out ...

    Facebook Search The Ocean Heirs

    CRACKER IS AWESOME

  • Awesome song!

  • we are the last generation who could actually listen to awesome new music on fm radio. the mid 90's were the shit for rock n roll. don't let anybody tell u different.

  • @miamiwax I've been rocking since the 70's, and I totally agree that the 90's are and were the best. So much free-form, grunge, metal, alt, you name it. It was and is all good. I am not living in the past either, good is just, good.

  • he'r really cute I like his freaky-ish black themed vid, he's right it iss like being stoned

  • cracker is basically underground, the studio versions of there stuff is like impossible to find

  • @celticwolf102 you know albums exist in physical form right?

  • @YourDailyMusicNotes Yes I do and I've gone in alot of places like FYE and Best Buy and there stuff is literally impossible to find, but I can honestly say that this album, "low" is probably only available on either iTunes or Ebay.

  • @celticwolf102 go to any Ineipendent record store ande you should find it ande by the way the album is called "Kerosene Hat"

  • Professor Lowery! (well, Lecturer) read about that on 300 songs blog- just heard this live in Cambridge during Cramper MLK 2012- these guys are such the consummate professionals n so excellent at what they do- the venue was packed- sold out, i think- as it should be ne time these bands are sharing their talents live! just can't say enuff positive about the whole camper/cracker thing. so awesome that they continue to do their thing and make relevant and incredible records! Cramper 4 eva!

  • David Lowery is the lecturer in my music business class. Seeing this makes him that much cooler in my book.

  • @n0ns3nse1 At what University is this? That's so cool, how lucky are you?!!

  • @ghwoods1 University of Georgia!

  • love this song! =p

  • be with you girl is like being low hey hey its like being stoned

  • 1:34 - The BEST PART!

  • It's Sandra Bernhard!!!

  • Is that the hot lesbian from Roseanne..?

  • Sara Bernhardt has been around waaaay longer than this. She is not a comedian, she's an icon! Look her up, it'll be worth it.

  • I miss the days growing up when mainstream music could be about drugs, scumbags and junkies. Now it's somehow devolved into puns about private jets, feeling like a black rapper when you wake up, and mindless droning about what day of the week it is...

  • 27 people would rather listen to Nicki Minaj "Superbass"

  • nikki mono tone whiny rappa i could play the violin better

  • Does anyone know who the woman in the video is?

  • @USBorderGuard I think she's a famous comedian now - Sara Bernhardt (sp?). Just a guess, tho - maybe before she got famous.

  • @krism48 Thank you!

  • thinking back, i would've liked to be around in the 80's as a teen, soundgarden, alice in chains, tad, skin yard, etc...then to lead into cracker, fastball, everclear, so on and so forth.. amazing

  • @gnrtop That really was a great decade for music! My son was a teen in the 80s (the 60s were my era) but I was truly impressed by what he was listening to! There were some amazing insights and emotions in those songs.

  • @krism48 you must be a proud father :)

  • My girlfriend sings along to this song with me... awesome

  • Young Adult

  • This is the 1993 hit that put their album Kerosene Hat on the charts and Cracker on the world stage of alternative music. As can be glimpsed in the black-and-white video, the album Kerosene Hat was recorded at a sound stage built in an old barn in Pioneertown, California. This is close to where lead singer David Lowery first met guitarist Johnny Hickman.

  • In the early 1990s I was in my late 20's, and I swear - there wasn't one thing on modern rock radio stations that wasn't great. This was one of those songs. For modern rock, early 1990s seems to be a reference point, sort of like early 1970s is to classic rock. It's a defining moment.

  • I am going to make the same complaint I have made before. How come I could not listen to Rockaway Beach on the way to the beach, why did I have come across a foreigner song? Why could I not hear Cracker, one of the best bands around, and instead have to hear some junk from a band like foreigner.

Just weird the way that the radio industry shot themselves in the foot by being so myopically tuned into cash machines. Aah, I guess only the independents saw where things were going.

  • hey hey i like being stoned

  • plus I heard Sandra and Madonna were lezzie together back then

  • sandra bernhard is ugly and was on Roseanne in the 90's. ,maybe that is why she got the part, ICK

  • I like it!

  • I have to admit I did not appreciate (at the time) many great 90's songs such as this. The following decade made me appreciate the 90's even more.

In the 90's (and in the preceding decades, save the disco crap era), the cream rose to the top.

In the 00's (and beyond), the drivel is forced to the top (by design).

Too bad no one will read this, Arbitrary "Isomolation" is very anti-democratic.

  • @HalcyonicRepose Wow, so true it is almost prophetic

  • look at that stank-ass L.A. river

  • 90s clothes sucked but the music was amazing

  • We should all make a movement to bring back the 90's.

  • last time i heard this song or saw this video was about 20yrs ago...bless you YOUTUBE!

  • There was something about the 90's that made these type of songs great.

The times we were living or just great bands?

Maybe it was like the 60's.Great bands and great drugs?

I only know what I like.

  • The lady is Sandra Bernhard

  • that lady driving the car in this video looks very familiar to me. Can anyone tell me who she is and where I may have seen her

  • @supermanXL

She played on the show Rosanne.

She's the one that married Arny then left him and figured out she was gay.

  • @SouthernRedStar Thanks

  • got a crazy ass video but its one hell of a good song

  • Man this brings me back to seventh grade -- when alternative and music alone was supreme. I miss those days.

  • i fucking hate the music after the year 2000. im 16 and even i know that its all shit... this type of music is the shit, bring back the fucking 90's music

  • @TulleyStudios i totally agree

  • 26 people suck!!!

  • I heard it on the radio, found it on youtube and now I'm happy

    :)

  • Tom Petty has a way different style. And no, vocals are not the same either. To get those confused with Tom Petty is to not even listen

  • can you believe that THIS was once in the mainstream? now it's just filled with shallow dance party music. CHRIST!

  • @ri394 OMG I never really clued in to that til now. You are soooo right.

  • @ri394 Too true

  • @ri394 Actually, this song was never really mainstream. It mainly got played on alternative stations, and it still does to this day. I don't recall it ever being on Top 40 radio.

  • @ri394 That is a crazy thought today lol

  • @ri394, I do agree, but to be honest, I'm a bit tired with people saying "once they gave us good music, and now we're being fed with crap". Because in the end of the day, it's us who choose who's gonna be the mainstream. Believe me, there's PLENTY of new great alternative music artists nowadays no one heard of, just because no one buys their music, everybody just downloads their ripped albums for free. Internet can be a great support for indie artists, but at the same time it can kill good music.

  • i geuss 26 people dont like being stoned!!! shocking.

  • O BTW the Green in her eyes is just the reflection of the bag of weed your holding in front of her face.

  • Sounds like Tom Petty

  • @ReaperCrew1989 lol. That's what I thought when I first heard this song. The guitars, drums and vocals all pointed to a Tom Petty song.

  • I NEVER UNDERSTOOD WHAT SANDRA BERNHARD WAS SO UPSET ABOUT, DID YOU?????????

  • @2010mpslick I believe Sandra represents heroin. "One rose and it knows your name...." then she kicks his ass.

  • @divajulia I thought that was the point he was trying to get across! lol i was gonna ask in a comment but figured someone else MUST'VE depicted the whole metaphor already lol.

  • i love getting stoned and listening to this it's.....euphoric

  • Hey im stoned just listening to dis boyee!!

  • HEY...do you wanna go down...LIKE SOME JUNKIE COSMONAUT!!

  • its amazing to how art can catch you off guard. this song plays so many time on the radio and i never considered it till now

  • I had sex to this song last night, was freakin' sweet.

  • @MegaHoolihan no you didnt

  • @k4ur0 winner.

  • wow talk about old lol

  • If you think about it, the 90's were great. I guess you never notice until it's gone. 00's and 10's suck.

  • @cometogether21 I have a theory that no good band was created after the year 1999

  • @cometogether21 Sad but true. Nothing in the last decade can touch how amazing 90's alternative rock was.

  • @cometogether21 maybe you're not noticing the good parts of 00's and 10's yet either! guess we'll know in ~20's ;)

  • @enniomeeusen2 So true...I'm already starting to long for the early 00's

  • @cometogether21 The 00s sucked loudly and the 10s aren't doing any better. I feel your pain. Put me back in the 90s!

  • @cometogether21 word that bro , just dont know till its gone =( and i miss cracker!

  • I love being stoned!!! for the love of dis shit boyee

  • @bakedbeanzz420 kill yourself

  • @justinbieberkillsall Hate pot, do you?

  • Def making this my wedding song

  • I thought it was petty also, could never you-tube "low" by tom petty , till i did some song searching, and i was so sure

  • i think it's pretty futile comparing decades for what produced the best music, the best music is always happening, ok there are some peaks and troughs, but it's never in a constant slump. This tune certainly was a peak.

  • First suggested vid on the right is JLo... Come on youtube!! Don't insult our intelligence.

  • it does kinda remind me of pettys tunes, and fuck i love the 90s so much, i dont know what else to say, ohyea hey if you got some other great forgotton 90s tunes share them with me, who knows, might find a new one...

  • Songs like these are a true testament to how good music was in the 90s..more than people give it credit.

90's music along with 60s were the best in my opinion.

  • 1993....good year for Cracker......

  • I thought for the LONGEST time this was sung by Tom Petty

  • @birum18 kinda does sound a bit like Tom Petty when you say that. not so much the lyrics, but the music

  • @birum18 holy shit so did i. i think i commented that before. sounds just like tom.

  • The only song i know that when it comes on in the car everyone sings it......and im talking about 6 guys in a pickup full of guns going hunting

  • Sucks how this song didnt get credited, but then again it makes it even greater...

  • Yeah

  • Im starting to get pissed the fuck off with this accuvue commercial.

  • Heard the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and up to today....love all music, but gotta say the 90's was the best era of music!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this band, I feature "Tune in Drop out" on my channel sometimes. I think I may be a crumb.

  • i can listen for the most of the rest of my life cuz these guy have been around for the best moments ever

  • i wish i was stoned

  • Get to see them Saturday at the Popcorn Fest in Valpo Indiana. :D

  • it sounds so 90's!!

  • I grew up to this stuff, and I still love it

  • long live the 90s!!!!

  • @hopewell2012

Nice one mate! Nostradamas was right. Creation stops in 1999. Shame the world didn't end to! All we have to look forward to is sodding X Factor & Ganster Rap. Yup, it sucks.

    Long Live CVB. Ta, John.

  • this is epic.

24 people must be chunky cosmonauts...

  • hey hey hey like being ston'd...

  • Love this song. I grew up in the 60's with the classic rock bands around my hometow. Been to the Eastown, Grande, Olympia, The Hideout and it was a blast. T-Rex played at one of our proms in Harper Woods, and Bob Seger played at our high school as well. Also saw the Amboy Dukes at Notre Dame High School in Harper Woods as well as SAvoy Brown and Kiss at Frazier Hockey Land. I'll never forget those memories, Even met Alice Cooper in a basement in Detroit and we were all getting a little toasted.

  • 90's music just feels so good. I feel all these awesome memories run across me when I listen to it.

  • Sandra's gonna kick his ass!

  • so fucking amazing

  • I sing this song like everyday.

  • i never saw the video to this song

  • kinda sounds like tom petty a little bit. anyone agree?

  • used to get so hugh to this song, hell i still do!

  • it's like being stoned!!

  • This band started my music addiction. David Lowry actually handed me his guitar off stage about 7 years ago after playing "Rocket Ship" and that Ibanez custom guitar changed my life forever. I absolutely love this band!

  • I love Cracker

  • @STLcardinals1994 Thank you very much sir.

  • I love this song! But being older and listening to it now i can't help but wonder if this song is secretly about heroin?

  • @smoothrasin Yes it is about heroin

  • The 90's brought us great music in all genre. This one brings back so many memories.

  • I too am only 18. This is my favorite style of music. Everybody here in augusta GA are only interested in Deathcore and all that nonsense. But this is what the world needs. Some one should bring this music back. 90's Alternative for life!

  • @DimebagRandy wow..i live like a few minutes from augusta..and yes, rap and metal is the crap they like here

  • hey hey hey im stoned right meow

  • who knows the year music died not metal and rock the other types that were once respected

  • I can listen to this song all day, without getting annoyed.

  • @ckyrox66 Likewise. And I DO do that!

  • Wow! Here I am born a half a century prior yet still it sounds as fine. Oh, I forgot, so are the artists involved. Sorry about that, kids.

  • 4 chords of fury

  • YEAH i like being stoned. !!!!!!

  • Looks like The Walkmen were influenced by Cracker from the look of their "We've Been Had" vid

  • A "Classic Rock" song to listen to stoned.

  • Coolest...Bassline...EVER.

  • thumbs up if u remember watching this video, along with "Cannonball" by the Breeders, and "Loser" by Beck and "Creep" by STP in constant rotation during Summer 1993 on MTV...back when MTV was still relevant.

  • 'Hey!! Dontcha wanna go down?...like some junkie cosmonaut"...coolest line ever.

  • ive been listeining to this song since my childhood, im a 90s kid, and TODAY im finally getting to see Cracker live......... i dont know man something feels right.

  • @oomung I'll be there!

  • ive raped the replay button(:

  • Like being s....toned...

  • I heard a rumor that was Sandra Bernhard in this video kicking his ass. Is that true?? That can't really be her, can it?

  • song brings back memories. I Went to a concert a decade ago just to hear this one song lol.

  • Got his ass kicked by that GIRL. Yes, definitely about heroin.

  • Thumbs up if you know this song is about heroin

  • @BobOnTheJob666 dude like 80% of nineties tunes are about drugs specifically heroin

  • 4:20 seconds long!

  • great vid shame about the ad mans contibution at the start

  • Thumbs up if you're still listening after YouTube loses relevance!

  • finally they put my song!!! yes

  • youtubes getting worse with the commercials, can't even go between songs without having to listen to an advertisement.

  • A song just for trailer trash white folks

  • Awesome song and Johnny Hickman is one of the most subtle, underrated guitarists of the 90s.

  • I am in love with 90s music!!!!

  • Oh wow. This song brings me back to 11th grade. I"m skipping school, sneaking out to concerts and making the most out of ife. My friends then were FRIENDS. No hidden agendas, no secrecy. What a time, being young and alive in the mid 90's. My version of the 60's.

  • Comment removed

  • SO F'ing Low down and dirty. YEAH

  • Who is that woman driving the car?

  • @MrRandude101 Actress/Comedienne/Activist Sandra Bernhard (sp?)

  • I love the song. Hear it on 97 Rock all the time. But omfg. The videos of the 90's are rediculous. haha

  • @SumB101 I know right? I never pictured this video in my head when I hear this song

  • i didn't realize that David Lowery does/did both Camper Van Beethoven and Cracker. That's Fucking Badass man!

  • Damn, I wish I hadn't seen that.

  • does the lead singer not look like ryan stiles from whos line is it anyways

  • @caminoty lol yeah he does! My band is opening up for these guys on july 16th!

  • there is something so nostalgic and sad about this song..
