  • The Pistols were manufactured, not exactly a punk thing is it? On the other hand, The Jam werent. And this track sounds nothing like the Pistols, Holiday in the Sun. Long live The Jam.

  • Wow, if they made a band that comprised of the sex pistols covering songs by the Who, they would call it the jam

  • what a song

  • What most people don't realise is that most of the late seventies punk groups were influenced to some extent by the sixties groups. Even the Sex Pistols used to play covers of songs by the Small Faces and The Who when they were first starting out in 1975 and 76.

  • Excellent video. Well put together!

  • Thanks for posting,Btw

Youtube can't have too much Jam

  • I'm an old fart now, and remember when this first came out - but you just know stuff like this, the Clash and the Buzzcocks etc. will just keep being revived. It really is quality and what punk/inide is really all about.

I feel sorry for kids these days - they are just fed vanilla crap.

  • PUNK ROCK IS THE BEST

  • Is it just me, or does this sound really similar to Holidays In The Sun by the Pistols?

  • it's just you :)

  • Well, not the entire song. The bassline.

  • I read an interview with Glen Matlock (ex- Sex Pistols bass guitarist) that Holidays In The Sun by the Sex Pistols was an obvious rip off from In The City by The Jam. In fact Matlock told the story of how Sid Vicious once taunted Weller in a club once about him nicking Wellers song. Vicious couldnt fight very well, and was consequently beaten up by Paul Weller.

Don't recall where I read the interview?

The bassline for Pretty Vacant was also pinched from Had Me A Real Good Time by The Faces

  • sid didnt write any songs [and its only a couple of notes every one dose it (almost)]

    sid couldnt even play bass

  • I think that's right, although I'm sure it was Bruce Foxton that beat the fuck out of Vicious.

  • there are slight simalars mabey thats why I like this one but holidays in the sun is way better.

    SEX PISTOLS ROCK!

  • Sex Pistols suck. Their importance stops at influence. Their music is barely listenable. It doesn't take one getting into classic punk more than 3 minutes to realize that Never Mind the Bollocks is actually a bunch of Bollocks!!!!

  • @Mozzer232 totally agree mate. I'm a huge clash fan and i was recomended "never mind the bollocks". Bought it for about £3, and i see why. People who say theyre sex pistols fans in my opinion do so because they thinks its the "punk" thing to do.

  • I WANT THAT RICKIE!!!!

  • Great video, cut, and band! Thanks for the clip! Jam It Up!!!

  • Thanx 4 this one! LOVE IT!! I remember when I found this on vinyl I almost wizzed my pants! Im serious. Ah memories!
