There's quite a bit of seiyuu in this show that would go on to have big roles. Like Kogane's voice, Kazuhiko Inoue going on to be the voice of Hatake Kakashi, and Hiroshi's voice, Masako Nozawa, going on to be the voice of Son Goku for the entire Dragon Ball series.
Yeah, and they weren't robots. They were demons, living creatures that Voltron used to KILL. In the American versions, they changed it to suggest they were ROBOTS. Because America is full of pussies.
I am not sure if licensing with whoever owns the voltron license would prevent a redubbed uncut version of the anime. However, there will be an uncut subtitled version of Golion(japanese name of Voltron) comming out in May on DVD.
