Yes probably although your location does not garauntee you the battalion so you may end up in poachers but both are good Battalions.

@simpleone1100 Erm no I'm a british soldier and I know quite a few of the people who were killed there non of them were covered up. The only number not told is how many taliban we've killed for example the unit in this video killed over 1,500 in a 6 month period. The afghan civillian wants security but its going to take time to train the ANA and ANP to take over, thats how we measure our victory. Large area's are already under Afghan security forces control and the taliban are on the back foot.

After all its not as though the Afghan tribes havent fought off every foreign power arrogant enough to think its able to conquer a country with so many different languages, tribes, ethnicity's, beliefs. And as far as a safe haven goes, its only a good place to hide on account of the fact that no one, not even the Taliban, has complete control of the place. The Taliban only ever controlled the citys.

And replacing regional and tribal rule of the chieftains and some Taliban representatives with a government made up of chiefains taliban reps and opium barons and warlords is better how? Oh and theres no oil in Afghanistan but there is loads of Iron, Copper Gold, Cobalt, and Lithium. Now we are there to maintain and build security until the Afghans can do it themselves, simple as that. And our weapons? When have we made, AK variants, PKM's, RPG's, Dragunov's and Chinese/Soviet rockets? Even their ammunition is Iranian/Pakistani made FFS!

@rangliansoldier Im talking about the Soviet Afghan war. Us and America bought Soviet weapons from the Egyptians and Israelis and sent them off to fight our enemies for us. And the Taliban wasnt harbouring AQ. AQ had units in Afghanistan because with the nature of the country its possible to hide more or less anywhere you want without anyone especially the Taliban doing anything about it. And why did we recognise the Taliban in 1996 if they were so evil?

When the Taliban came to power at the end of a horrific civil war many believed they were a force for good, however as time passed by it became clear they werent. What do you propose? That we leave them to kill and main the innocent?

They are from former regiments of the line, bedfordshire and hertforsdshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Lincolnshire regiments. Which all now make up the Royal Anglian Regiment. The Regiment has two regular units nd one territorial army unit also. When formed it had 4 regualr units and three Territorial ones. They are an Infantry unit not special forces or anything just normal Infantry.
