  • DAMN that was a great performance!!

  • He should have got another guitarist for stage presence...this song demands a singer move around and work the crowd ! Freddie wouldn't have got the plaudits he got if he was chained to a guitar ...perhaps Malmsteeen and Hendrix are OK with a guitar they can work up a crowd and sing too !

  • Punk meets Prog meets Kraftwerk meets ... They were a real force !!! And listen to Midge's voice!!! What can you say ????????????

  • yep... yoo

  • I saw Midge Ure performing an acoustic set only with guitar last night - the man is brilliant.

  • One of the best bands on the bill that day.

  • Geldof maybe took all the credit but the boomtown rats music was crap! this isn't

  • Imagine a stadion live show without big screens and cameras!

  • @cekay69

    And without autotune.

  • I feel a bit sorry for midge ure he was a big part in organising live aid but geldof took all the credit for it and made SURE the boontown rats were on the live aid bill when charles and diana were still in the stadium.

  • @tonymontana1974 not to mention that ultravox was helluva lot better the boomtown rats was.

  • live aid would never have been if there was no midge.

  • His live voice was excellent

  • the best rock of the 80s

  • Oh the energy!! I just love seeing the reflection of hundreds of thousands of people in his blue shades....Fantastic performance. Ultravox and Gary Numan always had the best synthesizers....

  • brillant song from a fellow cambuslang man and what a day to do it on

  • @1997larsson AGREE....!

  • This is actually greater than any U2 song.

  • @fluence51 what a ridiculous thing to say

  • @fluence51 Go home!

  • @fluence51

    U2 ???

    What's a U2 ?

  • Comment removed

  • @fluence51 seriously?

  • This is actually greater than any U2 song.

  • I saw Ultravox live on Wednesday in Luxembourg. They were awesome! I´m only 26 years old but they kicked ass!!! Midge Ure at his best, I deeply thank them for the concert! Wow, I´ll never forget them!

  • @GlobeLiner84 I envy you, I saw Midge solo unplugged in Cracow, Poland on Nov 22 last year and this was awesome, Midge is like wine - the older the better:))

  • @jadzia7911 Hell yes, damn right you are! :)

Whenever they are playing Ultrovox at the radio, I have to turn it up!

  • f..ck 1985!!! great timeee

  • @heatseeker737 it came 84 though :P

  • @tzeko Perhaps it is so? :)

  • Midge, you would have been taken more seroiusly had you taken those idiotic glasses off and just faced the the audiance head on..Look the crowd in the eye is the secret to fame.

  • @shazroh73 Are you kidding? Midge was one of the most famous writers and producers in the 80's. He hardly gets any credit for co-writing 'Feed the world' though.

  • You know i watch Live aid on GMA 7 back in the 80's in the Philippines. And that's the time they do not have satellite. They tape it as a 3 part or 5 part special. Boy i remember those Filipino babes are so sexy back then here in the Philippines

  • This song deserves a better crowd!

  • Ultravox went on early, before the "Big" acts.....

but I remember watching this live w/ my girlfriend (who turned me on to "Vox & is now my wife)....

And thought , Man, this is a tough act to follow.....

One of THE best of day to be sure!

  • The biggest act went on first. Every other band must have wondered how they were going to follow the mighty Quo.

  • wel donee!!! love this!!

  • Warren´s tempo control is amazing.Sounds like a drum box.

  • love his glasses

  • Love the reflection of the crowd in his glasses!

  • You all should get the DVD 4 Pack of this monstrous concert! I´ve never seen a better Concert, and it was for the right purpose as well.

  • lol, my dad had all their CDs at home and I love them too :D This is one of my favourites; Midge Ure has a really good voice live

  • De la PM! Thks!

  • This is absolutel fab!!

Love the band, love the song!!!

  • Amazing music!!!!

  • fantastic sunglasses^^

  • SG FTW!!!!

  • great voice.

  • Great to see this again. It still sounds cool.

    Thanks for uploading :)

  • he looks like gestapo but i like the song

  • esta cancion esta pocamadre me cae, super rolla

  • I just want to say that I gave this clip "4" only because It; was my mistake. I wanted to give "5" . Nowadays there is now music like this!!

  • Midge could do some serious flashing in that Trench coat!!

  • Awesome song.....

  • this performance sounds a little too fast for me.

  • I love the way you can see the whole of Wembley reflected in his shades

  • they deserve the view

  • ABS LOVE this song...

  • jak zawsze niesamowity ultravox!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • should have performed the voice along with drum sequence at the end..Never was a fan of this song..My 16 year old daughter thinks this song is the dogs Bollocks!!

  • The lads want me to learn this one for next week for the band practice. This ones harder to sing than Vienna. The secret is Ultravox are my all time favourite band so its them that need the practice...ha!

  • lo mejorcito de los 80

  • recently i've really been dancing with tears in my eyes

    sometimes i just wanna cry

  • Superb!

  • those drums sound awful;(

  • nice glases :=)

  • midge got screwed with live aid.

he should have played later ( maybe with different songs ) and then who knows how the band who have risen or died

  • It was feed the world, not feed the midge.

  • Nice one Superpeer - Thanks for cheering me up with an insanely wise comment!

  • Awesome song... Terrible guitar sound. He looks like the Equalizer.

  • For you that didn't notice the logo at the beginning:

This was performed at Wembley Stadium in London at Live Aid, 13 July 1985.

  • what is that bit they play at the end?

  • His bum looks big in this.

  • Looks like he's wearing Trevor Horn glasses..

  • is midge wearing Vaurnet sun glasses?

  • I was there at Wembley and can assure you we weren't cold! Ultravox suffered from unfortunate scheduling - they were on too near the start and a lot of people were still trying to get in. I managed to get right up near the front for this and the atmosphere was terrific.

  • Ultravox, the heavy metal of electronic music

  • This is at Live Aid from Wembley Stadium in July of 1985.

  • who is the guy with dreads? Mulligan?

  • No, he's Chris Cross, their Bass/Keyboard player!

  • No, he's Chris Cross, their Bass/Keyboard player!

  • the band is hot the audience is cold!

  • Can this vid be anymore 80's LOL!

  • Love this so much

  • songs that are about real things mean so much more than recycled love songs.you learn so much stuff.99% of songs are love songs saying the same thing..give me somthing to think about...

  • Very good

  • Sad that this song was written about a nuclear meltdown which was going to kill everyone in the town and nothing could be done about it.

  • that guy has good singing voice even its a live

  • love this song, sad song but I like anyway, thanks for the info from above.

  • whats wrong with sad songs?

  • Dig the Trench coat

  • insane sunglasses !

  • Great song.

  • Love the song.. love the group... geesh flashback... i was lile 11 yrs old then..lol!!!

  • Needless to say Ultravox were pioneers of techno pop and Midge Ure is one of the greatest composers of the eighties

  • This song is overrated. its sad that they changed music style in their later albums. I love the Vienna album, Rage in eden and Quartet. After these 3 albums they started to make shit music.

  • Thank you.

  • It's sad that no one's left a comment so far. Wonderful video! It actually introduced me to this band, I can't believe I didn't know about it.

Your live videos of The Cult are amazing, by the way. Keep up the detailed descriptions, they certainly add to the flavor.
