for me i play the game it is so laggy but one time i play the game and while it was loading i accidently press the restart button and after that aliens vs predator gold runs smoothly

But now i use Aliens vs Predator 2000 a AVP gold for the xp,vista,7

ok so i have windows 7 64 bit ... and all the requirements to play this game but the sound loops and i can only watch the videos as when gameplay comes when i move the screen merges any ideas ive tried compatibility mode

my only problem are the intro/outro videos, its slows down the game:(

so i just deactivate them. the movies slow down the game.

the in-game movies are fine, no problem with them

I played the game on a Windows XP back in 2006 on one of my old computers with an NVIDIA gfx card just fine with no actual problems.

It's not because the type of the card, or because it's XP. AvP was released in 1999. The gold edition was released in 2000. Back then there was no such thing as having 1 GB of RAM (or at least it wasn't afforded by most) so the game wasn't designed to work with the modern graphics cards. Reinstalling Windows won't help. Just get an older graphics card.

well i can play the game ok on vista or xp with 3.5 gig of ram and a gts250 all i do is put compatability to windows 98 and it works good

I have to use a completely seperate older laptop/computer to play this game though as on my modern PC with an Ati Radeon 256 MB DDR2 graphics card, the game is unplayable with all the graphics bugs: Black box tearing, too glowy lights, etc. I tried sirlemonhead's xp patch and it worked but still had some minor bugs such as the alien vision mode made of moving transparent white squares, etc.

AvP2 doesn't completely work well on my modern PC too. I play at highest detail on 1024x768. The game plays normally except the Alien Queen character model is completely messed up, and I mean it really is - It turned into a flying greenish-black little ball. Yes, a BALL. I noticed that when I finished the Alien campaign with the ending where you "see the queen".

And on the level "Betrayal" as Marine, i keep seeing blinking stuff right into my face as I move my mouse.

Probably my graphics card.

Nope, I didn't install any updates to AvP2. Nor avp Gold. And I can't really use sierraupdate as the Sierra servers are down, so no update for me :/ When I tried using the masterserver updates etc., I couldn't play singleplayer, the game just got stuck on me with the loading screen, and then I could find multiplayer servers, but I kept getting an error about some of the components this server has, I don't.

Any help would be appriciated.

@Michalt441alt sierra update doesnt work anymore try and find the avp2_en_096 for avp2 thats the latest update for the game and as for multiplayer the sever has been taken down...ive heard there is a mod to play online

u have to find the 163.44 drivers from nvidia,,,,,just google the drivers and install them hopefully it will work and also set the game to work in windows 98 or 95

Yes mine has a major problem, when i play predator all i see is black, i see the health and energy and my cross hair and everything but all i see is black! and ever time i skip something like the fox pop ups or something at the start of the game the music messes up, the game works fine but i dont know whats wrong yes i do have an XP

Yo.... video maker. Yes I have the problem with the game not working properly, it must be the graphics card! So unhappy! The cutscenes are completely black with just the sounds playing, and then with the actual gameplay, the screen is blackened and blurry and it's impossible to play. Can you help? Do you know what the issue might be? Help me out man.

find and download the 163.44 drivers for your nvidia card they have xp and vista drivers and also chainge the compatability too windows 98 that shud make the game run no problem

on the desktop screen right click the avp icon and click compatibility and chainge it to windows 98 or 95 .......98 works better for me

I know new way. Open avp and when the trailers start, skip them! Try to skip them when the sound is quiet. It works at my and my bigb computer. Try it.

if u have a problem with the sound there is a fix for that too google it very easy to replace old file and will stop the sound looping

Hello, it's me i have found out a way to play avp:gold multiplayer we first click multiplayer then i can host a game through the TCP/IP Network Protocol the serial and modem do not operate. I have been testing this and it works just perfectly i name the game while hosting and you click "Join Existing Game" enter in my ip address then join my game that i host, but first in order to do this you are going to have to let this game go through your firewall first and open up your UDP Ports.

there beta drivers for nvidia graphic cards and will work with your card you may have to uninstall ur new driver for your card

i have it running in 98 no joy...but my graphic card broke and bort a nvidia 6200le and that runs it quite smooth untill lots of alien death not as slow as this video tho

I do have that problem as well, even after installing the unofficial 1.1 patch. Also, after like 15-20 minutes, the screen just freezes and I have to reboot my PC. Really frustrating.

all the patch did for me was make it run alittle faster wen i killed something i have to look away or it slows down....not as bad as on this video tho lol

If you know where to look, there is a fix for it.. My 8600 and my 6100 had this problem but I found a fix and I play it on both cards.
