Really Good song for this anime,

Considering this is one anime i watched as a teen that basically reached into my brain and made me rethink my entire life. It was such a good series that it not only entertains but it breaks you and down and rebuilds you, mentally.

I had to have been a vegetable for atleast a week after watching this.

99% of youtube's AMV's are absolute tosh. The problem is mainly that the video is just built as "costume" around the song, and thus loses it's meaning.

This one however, is one of the best ones I've seen. Instead of video being excuse for a song, both the song and the video support eachother here perfectly in good harmony.

Nothing wrong with a little escapism. It shouldn't consume you however. You can't run from everything, no matter how you try. Yeah, sometimes reality sucks, but the thing about life is: it's a constant fluctuation. If things go bad, eventually they get better.

Reality, as we define it, is nothing but impulses deciphered by the brain. sight. sound. smell. touch. taste. anything you can sense is the result of some stimulation in the brain. our personalities are the result of our history, i.e. the information stored in the cerebral cortex. nothing more than chemical reactions... so how can you define reality?

Your point is irrelevant, although valid in its own right. Since all humans are physiologically the same, we all see the smae things in the world (ie objective reality). How objective reality is interpreted among the members of human society dictates our actions and beliefs (ie subjective reality). The subjective realities of interacting peoples can and usually does lead to conflict; as such, reality sucks cos conflict is bad

but the point remains, that if we cannot truly prove that reality exists outside of our minds, much less the minds of others, how can we even know if said conflict really exists? and the fact that our memory and, thereby personality, is nothing more than impulses deciphered by the brain, leads to the idea that someone with the proper know how and resources could simulate it or rewrite your brain, so in the end I suppose the real question is, how can we prove reality?

Are you suggesting we are in the Matrix? I am familiar with that argument, but do not accept it on the grounds that it is horribly depressing and is unfalsifiable. There is a similar theory that says that the probability is that we are all conscious computer simulations. The chances of being a member of a complex civilisation are so remote that it is far more probable we are the creations of a race of creatures with super-advanced computers that can recreate life.

I am more trying to say that as all of our perceptions and memories exist to us within our brains, we have no real means to prove that anything exists outside of our own minds. I was really using the matrix as an example because in the terms of such uncertainty the matrix hit the proverbial nail on the head.
