this is easily one of the most powerful and haunting eva amvs i've ever seen. it's right up there with one i saw about rei set to "fake plastic trees" by radiohead. just brilliant.
Considering this is one anime i watched as a teen that basically reached into my brain and made me rethink my entire life. It was such a good series that it not only entertains but it breaks you and down and rebuilds you, mentally.
I had to have been a vegetable for atleast a week after watching this.
99% of youtube's AMV's are absolute tosh. The problem is mainly that the video is just built as "costume" around the song, and thus loses it's meaning.
This one however, is one of the best ones I've seen. Instead of video being excuse for a song, both the song and the video support eachother here perfectly in good harmony.
Dude, what with all the bashing anime? It seems like a matter of opinion to me. Its like a businessman bashing rock, in my opinion. He doesnt get it, and he doesnt like it, so he bashes it. That which cannot be understood, shall be destroyed. *coughintolerancecough*
Actually I wouldn't call it gay, because i'm not one of those homophibic idiots. However, big boys are more into reality. Not some fantasy nonsence that teaches young children violence. I previousely left my moron boyfriend because 20 is a little old for anime addictions I think anyways. Everyone is different however. Some people just mature in a later age.
oh ja no 20 is too old, i mean the age group 13-18 is right for anime, cos uve grown out of cartoons and want something that isnt like the OC or friends, but if u do it make sure the blinds are closed and no one can see u cos its social suicide :P
Who cares about social suicide haha. If you were really dedicated to something, then you would proceed watching or doing whatever with it, no matter who gossips about it.
whats so great about reality? its pretty shit if you look around you. Whats wrong with escapism? If there is something wrong with it, should we then ban all fictional television, books and movies? The world would be a far less diverse place
Nothing wrong with a little escapism. It shouldn't consume you however. You can't run from everything, no matter how you try. Yeah, sometimes reality sucks, but the thing about life is: it's a constant fluctuation. If things go bad, eventually they get better.
It depends on what you mean by reality. What's real to you may not be to someone else. Who's to say otherwise? Your perceptions and how you understand them dictate what is or isn't real for you. That's not only the essence of reality but of diversity.
Reality is nothing more than a twisted mass of relative sub-conscious. Nothing exists to any given person other than what exists inside their mind. Reality, as we define it, is nothing but impulses deciphered by the brain. sight. sound. smell. touch. taste. anything you can sense is the result of some stimulation in the brain. our personalities are the result of our history, i.e. the information stored in the cerebral cortex. nothing more than chemical reactions... so how can you define reality?
Your point is irrelevant, although valid in its own right. Since all humans are physiologically the same, we all see the smae things in the world (ie objective reality). How objective reality is interpreted among the members of human society dictates our actions and beliefs (ie subjective reality). The subjective realities of interacting peoples can and usually does lead to conflict; as such, reality sucks cos conflict is bad
but the point remains, that if we cannot truly prove that reality exists outside of our minds, much less the minds of others, how can we even know if said conflict really exists? and the fact that our memory and, thereby personality, is nothing more than impulses deciphered by the brain, leads to the idea that someone with the proper know how and resources could simulate it or rewrite your brain, so in the end I suppose the real question is, how can we prove reality?
Are you suggesting we are in the Matrix? I am familiar with that argument, but do not accept it on the grounds that it is horribly depressing and is unfalsifiable. There is a similar theory that says that the probability is that we are all conscious computer simulations. The chances of being a member of a complex civilisation are so remote that it is far more probable we are the creations of a race of creatures with super-advanced computers that can recreate life.
no, I'm not suggesting that we are in a matrix-esque reality, only pointing out the that the possibility makes reality very uncertain. I am more trying to say that as all of our perceptions and memories exist to us within our brains, we have no real means to prove that anything exists outside of our own minds. I was really using the matrix as an example because in the terms of such uncertainty the matrix hit the proverbial nail on the head.
(cont.) (By 'recreate' I meant 'create computer simulations of') This is because if such models are relatively easy for them to build then they could create thousands or millions of worlds with billions of conscious humans unable to detect their presence in the computer, as such making it far more probable to be one of them than to be 'real'. (btw this is not an argument for God) Again, this argument is widely rejected due to its unfalsifiability.
many people choose to avoid such concepts because it is very true that ignorance is bliss. I would probably be a much happier person had I never gone down such a train of thought, but whatever, it's too late now.
Haha, I used to read that kind of philosophy too. I would suggest putting down the book and finding a less depressing subject to study, like 3rd world politics ;-P
honestly, I never read it in a book. I find out some of my stuff on the web and the rest I work out on my own. but to be honest it's a subject I can't just drop because it's just too damned interesting, no matter how depressing it is, lol
except we don't really know that, do we? there is no past, nor is there a future. what we describe as the past is really just memory, memory is just a pattern in our heads, and that can be faked. so how could we possibly know?
good video

Yeah your right
Draidic 2 years ago
I doubt you know anything about "meaning" if you really think the majority of people(99% in your words) who make AMV put no effort into their videos.
This one is good, but to say its better then 99% of the others out there is bull.
