  • tried to remove that sticker on my new bass.... completely ruined it :S

  • Would there be any possible chance that you can play certain types of rock music with the jazz bass? i just purchased one and i want to do covers for bands like circa survive.

  • @takenbydarkness54 you can play whatever you want... i mean it's the j bass sounding in Pink floyd's "Money" =D

  • Do you think the jazz bass is good for certain types of rock music? I just purchased one,and i want to do some covers for bands like circa survive.

  • I wanna watch more videos of this guy he's awesome!

  • dude are you missing teeth? lol!!!!

  • Lol this guy is so weird at the end. I think I will go for the jazz bass it has more settings and better sound and since I use bass pedals it might sound really sick

  • 1:51 "bass ...." more like distortion ..

  • this guy man. he's fucking cool.

  • I like this guy.

  • Lol and for funerals as soon as he said that I'm like boom subscribed

  • I like that riff at 2:27

  • @lolhax4 haha same I want that on my Ipod or I want to learn it.

  • What a FAG ! (-.(-.(-.-).-).-)

  • Is he on speed?

  • Is he on speed? :o

  • The blue one is mine. 3 years later, and that bass still cranks the jams. That pack made my life amazing. And @brian0102- the p bass is generally kind of a punkish bass, but either one will work for metal. If you want, you could make a hybrid p with a j pickup in the back.

  • This man is so good at playing bass, he could eat it and break his teeth, literally.

  • for playing metal what would be better the jazz or the p bass .

  • @bryan0102 I'd say jazz bass as you can get different tones with 2 pickups.

  • @bryan0102

the "j" bass is better for metal, some bands like Creed, or 3 days grace use a fender jazz, and with a jazz you can get a more round deep sound.

  • haha.... bemispheres and funerals "hey your wife has died, here's a bass guitar!"

  • p-bass is sssuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuick

  • y el teeht cuandoooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • I played the Jazz bass at Guitar Center and I just immediately connected with it. The action was great and I was able to move fast on the frets, while having the notes ring clear. I traded in my Dean Edge bass for it and it's coming tomorrow. I can't wait! :D

  • Leo Fender punched his face so his teeth fell out because he mocked Fender's bass design.

  • I WANT ONE

  • i might get one?

  • j bass i like

  • what's the better bass to play pop/rock . i think is the p bass but i am a beginner and i wanna have sure .

    ps: im not english !

  • @jomaria363 The Presicion is much simpeler than the Jazz bass, but has great sound nonetheless. I'd recommend the P-bass, for I play one myself and I love it. It's great to play, and very useful when starting out.

  • @Depraved6 squier is the line of basses and guitars. p bass is what kinda of pick ups it has and etc... but for slapping you would want a fender jazz bass.

  • which is good for Metal? jazz or precision??

  • my j bass gave up on me today and only have it since april :'(

  • very simple, master volume ( wtf tongue) this guy is badd

  • Can a fender squier affinity precision bass be used for gigging?

  • @rebellingmisfit Yeah, I own one, and I think it would be fine for small gigs, open mics, etc. (but the amp is probably too small and will be drowned out by the guitarist). But I wouldn't use it in a serious band, it's really more of a learner's bass.

  • it sounds great, even if not a genuine Fender. In my opinion, the difference between Fender models and Squier ones is not so evident. I tried to play a Squier Precision (version with 2 pickups) and it sounded great!!!

  • which one would be better for songs like Sweet Emotion, and songs from The Beatles?

  • MY EARS EXPLODED AT 1:56

  • What is the difference between a Bronco bass, a J bass and a P bass ?

  • @AlmostaFlipinSkater bronco bass is a short scale , 30 inch scale and is more for kids ,

precison bass amd jazz bass are 34 inch scale or long scale , your p bass has a deeper tone and alot of punk and rock bands use a p bass , the jazz bass has a brighter tone and suits alot of different styles , even rock and punk

  • I'm thinking of getting a precision to play some prog on, Roger waters style. I'm a minor so it'll take me ages to get enough money for a proper one, do you think this would be worth investing in or should i go for a different model? I already have an epiphone explorer bass which i'm reasonably happy with, it's just a little inflexible.

  • £225.00

    Me: D:

  • '... you get a guitar strap so you can run around playing it'

I laughed hard at the thought of me running around playing a bass.

  • whats the riff at 2:26?

  • Squier = poor man's fender.

  • Okay dude so i have a bass EXACTLY like the jazz bass that you were holding it even says squire on the back.but mine says "STARCASTER"on the head.Is it the same bass?

  • We definitely need a similar music store here in Israel.

  • I love the tone of the J-bass but not the P-bass

I love the look of the P-bass but not the J-bass

    WTF DO I GET?

  • I bought myself one of those P-basses for X-mas last year. Most of the time, I've just been messing around with it, but it's amazing how many basic songs I've been able to "figure out" just because I know how they're supposed to sound and then make it a matter of process of elimination. Lots of fun--and cool!

  • 2:32 love the tone

  • @NevadaMusicUK Thanks for the help

  • what bass would be better for playing slap? i wanna get in to bass mainly for that reason (slapping and pooping) what would be better "squier" or "P Bass" ???? any help would be aweosme. thanx

  • what bass would be better for playing slap? i wanna get in to bass mainly for that reason (slapping and pooping) what would be better "squier" or "P Bass" ???? any help would be aweosme. thanx

  • @Depraved6 I'd go with a Jazz bass mainly because the 2 pickups give a smoother slap sound and you can turn the front pickup down a little for a brighter sound. Saying than, the whole P-Funk sound is down to a precision bass. A good low action is essential for slap, newish bright strings and make sure the neck pickup is low enough so the strings can't hit it which makes a bad clicking sound.

  • @NevadaMusicUK were you doing a simler type of slap there at the end?

  • @NevadaMusicUK I play punk music, and I'm wondering If that punchy pokey sound is achieved with this bass when playing pickbass. thanks!

  • @NevadaMusicUK I know anything about basses am a guitar player who wants to learn is this bass easy to play?

  • @Depraved6 I dont know of any basses out there that are good for pooping.

  • @Depraved6 typically, a jazz bass (j-bass) is more associated with the slap style and a precison bass (p-bass) is more associated with a fingerstyle funk (as far as funk goes) but sounds great slapped nonetheless. also, you said "slapping and pooping" lol :)

  • i want the jazz bass,,,thumbs up if you agree the should have it in sunburst

  • Does anyone know how to play the riff at 1:26?

  • @Hazzo5678 me !!

  • @NevadaMusicUK ^ Legend

  • 3:37....."that will looks great at xmas, birthdays, barmitzvahs!, and funerals!" lol

  • So I've found out (thanks to this video) that the bass I have is like the Squier Jazz Bass. I want the P-Bass tho >.< loll this vid is crazy tho, ur good

  • Nothing beats the sound of a P (except in snow = no sound)

  • lol at 2:58

  • Is it good for playin metal?

  • 2:26 that reminds me of peace sells

  • 2:26 that reminds me of peace sells

  • @mapwallo it sounds nothing like peace sells >_<

  • That's what you'll get when you play bass with your theeth.

  • up

  • At high school we had squier p basses that were shattered to pieces, there was a tanglewood copy that got nicked...

  • Lol funerals I love that part :D

  • Lol great for funerals

  • nice demo

  • I'm so glad I found this video.. I just went to the music shop in my town and seen both of these, I'm striving to learn bass but didnt know which one to get... now that I heard the different sounds they make I know I want the P-Bass... since it has the sound I'm looking for.. Thank you so much for posting this.. it helped me a ton. :)

  • i love this bass

  • This guy is hilarious!!!

  • i think that guy is using a way better amp and pretending to use the fender amp which isnt all that good.

  • @nagaten

I've got a p bass in blue and it's a great practice and performance bass

  • @nagaten If I were you I would play both to see what suits me better. Just buy what your comfotable playing. And if you want a sunburst jazz bass look up rondo music they sell sx basses and I think they have one in three tone.

  • @nagaten

With the p bass you can play more styles in music than with the jazz bass, so if you are a beginner (like me) you should probably get the p bass

  • Personally I'd go for the mexican

  • So, i'm about to buy my first bass and these 2 packages are looking good, but really, which is better?

I like all kinds of music, but i do feel bass should be played with fingers and slapping instead of picks. Also, there should be a Sunburst/Tortoiseshell Jazz Bass :P

That said, which would you recommend generally? Is two pickups better than the split one on the P-Bass? Can i get more different tones out of the Jazz because of that?

  • Great video!

Gonna buy the pbass soon, thank you very much for clearing things a bit up for me, i dont know anything about bass guitars :p except that they are awesome! Anyway, thanks!

  • would you recommend the p-bass or j-bass? i'm a complete beginner and can't decide between the two

  • WE DONT KNOW!

  • good looking bloke.Back to the main question, how much these package costs?

  • does anyone one know wher i can get good tabs for a base guitar solo?

  • When you're playing the p-bass what setting is your amp on?

  • I didn't get a dvd...

  • which would you recommend, the squire p/j bass, or theyamaha rbx 170? great review by the way!

  • @zenox18 i prefer jazz cause p bass sounds like shit

  • LMFAO, i didn't know you get presents on funerals

  • Bloody hell, at a glance I would swear that was Jimmy Tarbuck - face, hair, gap/tooth, even the voice.. the resemblance is uncanny! No offense, of course, just an observation.

  • i love this guy :D

  • @Kaimietizz Elephant Juice too...

  • @NevadaMusicUK you whit your smart comments...i really like this guy,hes great

  • @Kaimietizz God, this was 2 years ago, thanks for your kind comments, was one of the first video's for Nevada. Still working there, loving it too, must update some of these !! 97k views, 300 comments !! crazy numbers. Still looking for me tooth though...;-)

  • I am thinking buy a squier set bass. I have a amplifire for guitar but i think than I can't turn a Bass in a guitar amplifire, so i need the bass amplifire too :S

I don't know if i should buy jazz or precision! Someone can help me, please?

I like play red hot chilli papers, Metallica, Ozzy osbourne, Iron Maiden, Muse, Pear Jam, bon Jovi, Manowar, Judas Priest, Guns n' roses, ACDC, Kiss, MOTORHEAD, Megadeth, Rammstein...

  • @Pedrogomesramalho get a pbass its more of a rock bass and has a deeper sound to it but try both out and see what ya think

  • @Pedrogomesramalho get the precision if you havent. or if you wanna splash out, get the sterling ray34 for 600 quid

  • ill like a bass for my funeral

  • BEST REVIEW EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That being said, both of these basses are Affinity basses. I have the P bass (2002 20th anniversary) and its my main player. slap on some flatwound, lower the action, adjust the neck (to compensate for extra tension) and adjust intonation.

Squier has made some great strides to raise the level of quality control and these basses prove it.

They are not the greatest, nor will they beat an american fender but if your strapped for cash or just learning theyre great.

  • great! i'm getting this for the day that a small infant known as jesus was born.

  • Who else thinks this would make a great gift for a funeral?

  • the riff starts at 2:25 is awesome!

  • The riff starts at 2:26 is awesome!

  • Thanks for the video! I just got the P Bass and its great, not too advanced as i just started playing.

  • thats why i love about you guys your honest good or bad, i'm sure he can afford teeth but i guess he doesn't what to bother, it took too short awhile to get his grill fixed

  • what is the tab for the first bit you played on the P bass?

  • @crocksrock101 just watch his fingers thats how i learnt it

  • Hi

Does the pack come with the new Fender Rumble 15

  • What was the amp settings when you play the p-bass

  • @ButlerSONG i would really love to know that too !!!

  • 3:36 it will look great at funerals!?!?!?!?!?!? Yeah you can play some hardcore DEATH metal There hahahahahhaha

  • Very fuzzy o-o

  • Wher is your tooth?

  • @bernardoboarder in a field in canterbury.

  • @NevadaMusicUK that was almost a pulp reference, but i suppose honesty is the best policy

  • Hey...how much is the blue/black one?

  • A Guitar strap so you can run around playing it.. hahaha

  • Funny review, Squier stop playing-stop dreaming, stop dreaming-stop playing, or it just stop playing, we don't know........aaahahahah, he is awesome

  • @darkokostadinovic its actually start playing; stop playing wouldnt make since, but i think that would make me want it even more

  • Can someone give me some good amp settings for this bass? I have this exact kit he is showing, I have the red bass. I'm into Metallica so what tone would be the best for it?

  • I have the same red Squier. Could someone give some good amp (the 15W amp) settings for it? I'm into Metallica by the way so any nice settings for it guys?

  • can i buy this thing if i live in america

  • 2:37 i dont need a pick

  • What's the difference betwwen the Jazz Bass and the Precision Bass?

  • I love that guy that was the best review ever man! cheers!

  • punk guys - weeeh

  • waz da name of that pinchi loco?

  • i love how he just throws everything like its worthless

in his mind "fuck it there not paying me to be nice to the

    equipment"

  • So pumped to get mine in the mail.

  • I love how he doesn't care about tge accesories: "This won't break *nghhh* see?

Also, I would love to have tge box set up my funeral. (?)

  • lmao "You get headphones these are reall tough" (crash)

  • I played a fretless squier Jazz bas once and I quite liked it... really wish I had it.... but my cheap old jazz bass to shame... I really just need a new bass I grew beyond my old one ha ha.

  • I have a Squier Jazz bass that I bought in 2001; It's different from this one in that it has no pick guard. It's a solid blue, like the P-Bass in this vid. The only problem I've ever had with it is one of the pickup wires has twice become disconnected, but that's a quick fix with a soldering iron. I don't care if its a 'cheap imitation' of a Fender; I love the thing.

  • 2:59 hahah)))))))))

  • i wonder why most people say they don't like them.. but you make them sound and look so cool! thanks for the demo :) ima go pick one up soon ^_^ and yes they are obviously are great for feunerals ;D

  • @meezshinji45 Death Metal....

  • Run around and play it! lol

  • whats that riff you were playing on the pbass with the pic ?

  • @NevadaMusicUK Lol sorry. Hey thanks for the review because after hearing this review I went to try one out at the store and I ended up getting one today

  • Always been a p-bass lover but this particular jazz does sound alot better than the P to me. I've been playing an Ibanez GSR200 for 2 years now, was my first and I always told myself I wouldn't upgrade to a Jazz or Pbass until I'd saved £500 to get a proper one but I think I'm gonna just buy a Squier... they sound awesome! I know I'l be slightly disappointed and telling myself 'what if' but until the day comes when I'm strapped, I'm sure this will suffice.

  • @RewindMJ Buy a Vintage Modified

  • @NevadaMusicUK I might get this in the starter pack that it comes with for about $300. It also comes in a P-Bass version, which is the same price. I'm gonna be playing mostly classic rock on a low register. Should I get the J-Bass or the P-Bass?

  • which one is better for playing rock/metal???? The jazz or the P bass??

  • @Theinsley p bass

  • i found the tuner was not all that great but awesome guitar. i have the exact same one as the blue p-bass. i love my guitar i have had it for two years now!

  • these look nice! their also cheeper. wich im not like most people and have to have name brand. if it looks like a p bass and plays good i want it. im wanting a p bass. like the one steve harris uses. and i was wondering if i should hold out and just get fender or save and get the squier. because comming up with 500 bucks is going to be hard for me

  • its a really great starter set

  • i have got this package with the p-bass and its great

  • Please give me back my teeth! lol

    Great player.

  • @resakate Bloody tooth fairy...

  • @NevadaMusicUK I might get this in the starter pack that it comes with for about $300. It also comes in a P-Bass version, which is the same price. I'm gonna be playing mostly classic rock on a low register. Should I get the J-Bass or the P-Bass?

  • im jealous. i wish i had your smile.

  • @WrapdInStripez doh..

  • can i use behringer BXL450A ULTRABASS (amp) for this bass??? i want it to sound great,,, please answer soon because i want to order a new amp for my squier!

  • @GreekAnimal1 you can use any bass amp with any bass (assuming it isn't a straight acoustic one bass, of course)

  • Which is better for me ?? the J bass ?? or the P bass ??

I play in a Hard Rock / Metal band, and i cover any song from Punk Rock to Black Metal, i play with my fingers, with picks when it needs, not that good in slapping, loves fast bass lines, and my fingers a lil bit small

which is better for me ?? i love the p bass's sound, and the j bass's neck :/

    Can you help me ?

  • @BassistAliAyman I would say P bass. The Jazz Bass is, as the name suggests, meant for Jazz. Unless you want to do a Jazz Metallica re-imagining. Come to think of it... that would be badass.

  • The English sense of humor always makes my day

  • how much is this package?

  • @godfathadeth11 check the link to our website for latest prices cheers !!

  • @NevadaMusicUK haha ok thank you

  • Alright here is the deal guys people play more then one bass , enough said ,

  • lol funerals :D

  • Like the P bass tone better!

  • Is the P-bass good?

  • brits r good in music lol

  • For a starting bassist who wants to play indie rock and jazz songs would u suggest the p or j bass package?

  • how much for just the amp?

  • This guy is friggin cool.. good player.. great sense of humour.. made me LOL.. just getting back to playing a bass after a 25 year hiatus.. This guy made me want to do it MORE than before !
