  • LOL Everyone in this is British, of course they like the Typhoon.

  • The Narrator sounds like Thane Krios from ME 2

  • The EF2000?!? the ultimate?! No, certainly 1 of the best, but I think of all 4+(+) gen fighters, the Su35, MiG 35, F15, Rafale, & EF2000 are the masters.

  • Amazing videos and history!

  • The EF2000? The ultimate fighter?! LMBO!!!! merely a 4++ gen. plane.

  • TRyphoon's the best fighter? The Eagle would kick its ass with just one engine!

  • @zeusatflash Rubbish. The Typhoon is superior to the F15. Only the F22 is better (and a lot better)

  • Me-262 totaly outclassed the Meteor

  • what about the JSF?

  • "I like putting canards... On my enemy's aircraft!" F-22?

  • F35????

  • 8:50 AC-130 ABOVE !

  • what ``````this is the most advenced fighter jet in the world`````` f-22 Raptor is the most advenced on earth.............

  • its simple, the Typhoon wouldnt be able to see the Raptor until it had fired upon it. it would be a hugely one-sided battle

  • The Typhoon is a great plane. If it got just a minor stealth improvement similar to the methods used in the F15SE it would be even better. Even as it is now it is good against any aircraft in service except the F35 and F22. It is unlikely to ever face those aircraft in combat. Russian and Chinese designs are much more likely adversaries. With a stealth upgrade package and the planned sensor upgrades installed it would have a chance against some stealth fighters.

  • thats some amazing mobility 1:57 2:01

  • Designed to kill!

    I love the eurofighter!!!

  • Im still crossing my fingers for teh F23. but this is a very great fighter

  • jet fighters are tinkered to it's possible limits..but you cannot tinker or upgrade a human being or the pilot sitting inside those planes..

  • Please stop these silly arguments re: F22 v Eurofighter. They are not designed for the same purpose so the comparisons are worthless. However, IF (and this is a major hypothetical because it will never happer), they were to face each other 1-on-1, the F22 would be marginally victorious.

However, the F22 costs roughly 2.5 - 3 times more tha the Eurofighter. 2 Eurofighters v 1 F22. Eurofighters win hands down! Which would you prefer you taxes to be spent on?

  • Eurofighter the best fighter-jet? oh C'mon discovery, you can do better than that!

  • i swear the british harriers just remind me of US marines harriers

  • @goldendude1994 Might that be because the first British Harriers were invented and produced before the AV-8Bs used by the US Marines????

  • To call the Typhoon the best fighter is laughable. The F-22 would eat it for lunch. Bring the Typhoons to Nellis AFB and have a few rounds against Raptors. This video would have do a quick edit.

  • A raptor cost 225 Million a plane, the US are to scared to losing him.

  • 0-mach 1 in 30 secs whooa

  • i love this song but i hate paying itunes haha. i got it from tubemusicdownload com

  • You spelled "journey" wrong in the explanation...

  • i thought F-22 was the most advanced aircraft fighter in the world..

  • what airplane is taking off at 7:29?

  • F-15E Strike Eagle

  • @Airsz THIS VIDEO IS FULL OF SHIT THE TYPHOON IS NOT THE BEST PLANE IN SERVICE IT IS NOT STEALTH,THOUGH ITS CAPABILITY TO MANEUVER IS UNDERSTANDABLE AND IT IS PURELY OUT CLASS BY THE F-22

  • char1eston - no need to get all emotional now.

  • all of you under me are bethetic losers...while you guys are talking about which country invented the jet engine...why dont you do wat i do and go study aironomics and maybe some day you could invent some thing that losers could be debating about 20-50 years from now...

  • Dont let your menstruation cycle get the betterment of you. There really is no need to act like that.

  • WTF! The Germans were first to develop the jet engine. Britain was second. C'mon British people stop taking credit for things you didn't do...

  • a british man developed the jet engined first in the 30s, but no one in his country was interested, so the germans caught up in development of the jet engine

  • I googled it, some sources claim that it was actually built and tested in Austria. I have to do some more research because I'm not sure.

  • The brits built the first jet engine, but realized the technology wasn't mature enough to justify putting all of their resources into building a jet plane. Instead they flooded the skies with Spits and Hurricanes. Only near the end of the war did they bother with building Meteors. The Germs by that time had the ME-262 up and going but with little impact. The resources they put into the 262 could have seen better use elsewhere. Only the allies benefited from development of the ME-262.

  • There are 2 kinds of fighter aircraft, targets and Stealth....................

Which would you want to be...

  • Only 14000pounds?he he.

Eurofighter has 90kN thrust with afterburner (each engine). Su-37 has 145kN thrust with afterburner (each engine). So about your power.

You talking bout speed? F15 goes up to 2660km/h and Mig 25 in that time(1970) has 3490km/h!!!!

    People where are you living?

  • russians still ahead of US in terms of military power..i think

  • That`s right bro! And....

I dont know why people here, leaving so untruth telling..,many of them. They even claim that western planes are better cuz they had been in wars(which they initiate) and percentage of success is 99.9999%... I dont know in which war Su-37 had agency AND THAT DONT MEAN THAT IS FUNNY AIRCRAFT!!! Also,if I would be a Russia, why I would tell you bout my radars generally. JUST KEEP THINKING THAT YOU ARE INVISIBLE. He he.

  • We are invisible to radar. Maybe not to low frequency radar but that is hard to use and aim missiles with. Maybe....

  • all aircraft are visible to radar. Stealth just makes us a smaller blip on the radar scope. it makes the aircraft difficult to track.

  • You're kidding me right? Russia is not even close, in size or technology.

  • The funny thing the F15 is still the fastest fighter..................

  • yeah during 70's and 80's but not now....there are more better planes today than the f-15 mmm no wonder they are being replace soon...

  • The Su-37 is better, if you're only counting operational aircraft. The F-22 and the F-35 are also better, but they aren't operational yet.

  • it's true..but im just asking does the su-37 is operational and is combat tested?

  • How long ago was this video made?

  • No doubt the Typhoon is a true warrior of the air but these guys make claims at the onset of the documentary that are unproven, as is the F-35, F-22 , the Dassault Rafale and the Russian fighters. They are all slightly better at different missions. The F-22 does have advantages though

  • in airshow the ef 2000 beat the so called F-22 stealth...

  • F-15 will fuck your shit up. I'll bet a Falcon and a Hornet too. F-22/F-35. Not even worth the fuel to put it in the air. Nice try Eurofags. Keep trying

  • SoloThunder. Im a Royal Marines Commando mate..and it gets boring the way skanky yankees keep commenting negatively on anything British..whats up inferiority complex?? i knew your lot were not as well trained as us having ran your guys amock on operations in Afghan and Iraq...but really...your coming on here to slate the best, all it does is prove you need to convince yourself. Sorry sonny jim.

  • I have nothing against you guys besides the fact of videos like this being made promoting things like this (i.e. this plane) I like the plane personally but I don't believe it matches nor "out beats" those of the US planes. And with the promotion of videos like this it pisses me off so I have to stand behind my guys.

  • well now hands down the F-35 is the best

    Typhoon doesn't compare

  • F-22 is better. F-35 is cheaper and has bigger bomb load.

  • F-35s in slicked configuration (all stores internal to maintain stealth) can only carry 2 bombs. 2- 2,000 pounders in the A and C models and only 2- 1,000 pounders in the B models. This goes up to six with external stores. the F-35's selling point is its ability to get to 'center of mass' targets by evading defenses with its stealth and ECM and using precision guidance to destroy Achilles heel type targets with JDAMs. The F-35 is less a high capacity pickup truck and more a two seat coup.

  • The F-22 was not operational at the time of this video being aired. Estimated per unit cost of the F-22, $138-177 million per copy or about $339-361 million per if development costs are included. The F-35 was projected to cost $112 million per copy in 2005 (not sure if that includes development costs.) The F-35 was supposed to be only $50 mil per. Both planes were intended as silver bullets capable of replacing entire fleets of legacy aircraft with a handful of ultra high tech wonder planes.

  • The appalling costs are a result of losing the economy of scale enjoyed by previous designs.

  • Typhoon is not the best fighter sorry

  • it is

  • from what I understand F22 is superior but its not multirole and it costs far more per unit than the EURO fighter typhoon.

  • thanks man.....and i agree that the f22 is the best...!

  • The f 22 is the most deadliest fighter ever produced.

  • Let me guess... You're American!!!

  • No I am Indian.

  • You dont have to be an American to realize the F-22 is by far the best and most advanced jet to date.

  • That's right!

  • I agree with you!

  • yea keep thinking that

  • You're just deliberately trying to sound like an idiot, right?

  • really? even thought it is... dude! as they say, eurofighter thyphoon is better. just better. i don't f***ing understand why every one is obbsesed with the raptor(sorry, little bird). Thyphoon all the way!

  • This requires skills and understanding more usually associated with helicopters. Most services demand great aptitude and extensive training for Harrier pilots, as well as experience of piloting both types of aircraft. Many recruit trainee pilots come from the most experienced and skilled helicopter pilots in their organisations.

  • Controls and handling:The level of understanding and skill needed to pilot the Harrier is considerable. The aircraft is capable of both forward flight (where it behaves in the manner of a typical fixed-wing aircraft above its stall speed), and VTOL and STOL maneuvers (where the traditional lift and control surfaces are useless).

  • Development:Following an approach by the Bristol Engine Company in 1957 that they were planning a directed thrust engine, Hawker Aircraft came up with a design for an aeroplane that could meet the NATO specification for a "Light Tactical Support Fighter". There was no financial support for the development from HM Treasury, but aid was found through the Mutual Weapon Development Project (MWDP) of NATO.

  • There are four main versions of the Harrier family: Hawker Siddeley Harrier, British Aerospace Sea Harrier, Boeing/BAE Systems AV-8B Harrier II, and BAE Systems/Boeing Harrier II. The Hawker Siddeley Harrier is the first generation version and is also known as the AV-8A Harrier. The Sea Harrier is a Maritime strike/air defence fighter. The AV-8B is the second generation Harrier and the BAE Harrier II is the British variant of the second generation Harrier.

  • The Harrier Jump Jet, often referred to as just "Harrier" or "the Jump Jet", is a British designed military jet aircraft capable of Vertical/Short Takeoff and Landing via thrust vectoring.

  • This program lost credibility with its opening claim; the Tyhpoon isn't the most advanced fighter in the world, and it can't even parody the Raptor.

  • I think I will trust the US test pilot who has flown both, he said that each has characteristics better than the other.

They both perform different roles and complement each other.

For example the Typhoon is more manouverable than the F22, but the F22 has stealth. A stealth beating RADAR has already been developed however, and dogfighting isnt everything with regards to the Typhoon, however togther they will own the airspace when used in their correct roles.

  • Well said.

  • @Xiolablu3 ...if you search there is a british pilot that flew ef and raptor....he says F22 is the best fighter in the world!

  • Would you really want to be sitting in a fighter without stealth? You would be like a guy in the dark with a bright flashlight (and a knife) while the other guy is wearing camoflauge targeting you with his sniper riffle! Also, he has more power and superior agility than you do! The Raptor is truly in a class of it's own. At least for now! The Typhoon is simply out-classed when compared to the Raptor. The Typhoon is nothing to sneeze at though and I have great respect for British engineering...

  • There is no fighter jet that can be 100 % invisible!

  • I'm sorry....i meant pounds

  • Typhoon best fighter? with 30,000 pouns of thrust? hahahaha. The F-22 can do 70,000, and the F-15 can too with their two 35,000 pound thrust Turbofans. The only difference is the F-22 is lighter.

  • I suspect that the old british jet they're towing out of the hangar near the start isn't actually a Gloster Meteor. I think the makers got confused and took footage of an Armstrong Whitworth Meteor which first flew in 1950. If you compare the old photos of the Gloster plane you'll see the nose and canopy is different; the Armstrong Whitworth Meteor was meant to be a nightfighter so it had a larger nose to house a new radar in, which you can see in the video.

  • It is a Gloster Meteor Night Fighter..

  • What I mean is part of the footage is showing a different aircraft to the Gloster. The nose and the canopy fluctuates wildly between the archive footage, photos and modern footage. Just checking to make sure... okay, 02:36, thats a Gloster. Note the short nose and the fairings on the near side. 03:03, modern footage, no fairings, larger nose, different canopy. 03:39, Whitworth's larger cockpit on modern footage, 03:56 next shot, back to the archive of Gloster and the small cockpit is back.

  • Also there's an almost imperceptible different in the rear fuselage. The Gloster plane's airframe tapers off behind the cockpit whereas the plane in the modern footage has a level edge. Look at the relation to the engines and fuselage between 3:49 and 3:54. It looks suspiciously like an Armstrong Whitworth Meteor they're towing out the hangar. That's the only explanation I can come up with for the difference. Any thoughts?

  • people always compare the f22 and eurofighter for the best plane. Honestly, what you have to look at is that the US and Western Europe are allies. So these two monsters will most likely be on the same side in a future major conflict.

  • this plane can fuck any Russian plane

  • Well no shit! This is a highly sofisticate plane and, well the russian planes, let's just say that they cant fly very long or else it will brake apart:P

  • lmao dam rite =)

but i like the Russian Tu-160 that's my fav Russian aircraft =)

  • what do you know about a russian plane, the fact is that the su-37 terminator is one of the best fighters to date, russian fighters only let down by the pilots

  • What the hell are you talking about?!The SU-37Terminator isnt even a fighter jet!

  • sorry i mean the su-30, the plane can flog an f-15 any day given it has a good pilot, and russian fighters look way better than american jets, the flanker and fulcrum looks way better than the f-15 and f-16

  • He said:The Eurofighter is both agile and sophisticated, but is still difficult to compare to the F/A-22 Raptor. They are different kinds of airplanes to start with; it's like asking us to compare a NASCAR car with a Formula 1 car. They are both exciting in different ways, but they are designed for different levels of performance.

  • Performance

The Typhoon's combat performance compared to the new F-22 Raptor and the upcoming F-35 Lightning II fighter under development in the United States and the Dassault Rafale developed in France, has been the subject of much discussion. In March 2005, United States Air Force Chief of Staff General John P. Jumper, then the only person to have flown both the Eurofighter Typhoon and the Raptor, talked to Air Force Print News about these two aircraft.

  • The fighter achieves high agility at both supersonic and low speeds by having a relaxed stability design. It has a quadruplex digital fly-by-wire control system providing artificial stability, as manual operation alone could not compensate for the inherent instability. The fly-by-wire system is described as "carefree" by preventing the pilot from exceeding the permitted manoeuvre envelope.

  • The Typhoon features foreplanes, and lightweight construction (82% composites = 70% carbon fibre composites + 12% glass reinforced composites).

  • Technical

On 21 November 2002, DA-6, the Spanish two-seater prototype crashed due to a "double engine flame-out", said to be specifically related to the experimental trial standard of engine being used by that aircraft. The aircraft went down but the two crew members escaped unhurt.

  • Number built:137 (as of December 2007)

707 Ordered (as of January 2008)

Unit Cost:£61.5 million, €88.4 mil., $122.5 mil. (2007 flyaway cost)

    Primary Users:Royal Air Force

    Luftwaffe

    Aeronautica Militare

    Ejército del Aire.

  • The Eurofighter Typhoon is a twin-engine canard-delta wing multirole aircraft. It is being designed and built by a consortium of three separate partner companies: Alenia Aeronautica, BAE Systems, and EADS working through a holding company Eurofighter GmbH which was formed in 1986. The project is managed by NETMA (NATO Eurofighter and Tornado Management Agency)

  • On 2 September 1998, a naming ceremony was held at Farnborough, England. This saw the Typhoon name formally adopted, however initially for export aircraft only. This was reportedly resisted by Germany; perhaps because the Hawker Typhoon was a fighter-bomber aircraft which served with the RAF during the Second World War against German targets.

  • The first production contract was signed on 30 January 1998 between Eurofighter GmbH, Eurojet and NETMA.[24] The procurement totals were as follows: UK 232, Germany 180, Italy 121, and Spain 87. Production was again allotted according to procurement: British Aerospace (37%), DASA (29%), Aeritalia (19.5%), and CASA (14%).

  • man there is always someone fighting over which plane is best. the F22 Raptor is more manouvrebel than the Eurofighter, + it's stealth. the only planes that can match the

Raptor is the russian SU27 Flanker, and the SU 37 Terminator. The eurofighter could win against the Raptor, but overall the Raptor is a better plane. if the pilot of the Eurofighter is better than the Raptor pilot, the Eurofighter would most likely win.

  • Wow, why is this so biased for the brits? doesn't even talk about the mig262

  • dont you mea the ME 262?

  • uhh, people have been going mach 1 for 50 years.

  • typhoon is no match with raptor period!!! raptor is a mutli role also, it has a capable of killing tanks or any bustards in d ground.. typhoon can be killed by a raptor without seeing it d radar...

  • Idiot. The Typhoon is designed as a dogfighter. As a dogfigheter it is unequalled. The Raptor is not. The Raptor is a long range strike/superiority aircraft with stealth capacity. Why would we need to compare them? Different characteristics. The Raptor & Typhoon are on the same side and are used in different capacities to compliment each other. You obviously have a lot of gung ho and no intelligence.

  • @stillceaser The F-22 is more agile and is a better dogfighter btw

  • @TheMilitaryTactics

Indeed, but only for those who have the will to search and use a little bit of maths and let the words come out!

    Cheers!;)

  • @Maverickf22flyer Yeah it does takes patients and hard work to get the right answers but thats life. No problem by the way.

  • @stillceaser Typhoon is slower and less maneuverable than the F-22, F35, SU-37, F/A 18 Classic and Super Hornet. It's superior to nothing, it's a dog and that's from the lips of a Typhoon pilot.

  • All aircraft are good, all of them are the same, just used for different roles, if you have a weapon, you can shoot down any plane, it's just a matter of the pilots skill. The F-22 is an awesome plane, the Typhoon is too, why don't we all stop trash talking? The Typhoon can shoot down the F-22, the F-22 can shoot down the Typhoon, planes aren't invinsible, even the F-22.

  • ahh~ Here we go again. Wherever there is a video about fight jets, there will be people posting comments like this. Seriously, if you really want to compare, then you really need a war, period!!! Unless there is a bloody war, there will not be any statistic or empirical data to backup whatever theory you imagine. Of coz, you might think blowing up other people up is cool... which is really your fantasy, nothing to do with anyone else here.

  • Typhoon is an awesome jet, I couldn't believe it when I saw it display. It runs rings around F-16s & the like. So cool that the RAF has a decent fighter again. Not sure how it'd fare against a Raptor but who cares, they'll never fight each other anyway. If anything we should be listening to the troops and putting more effort into building a battlefield support aircraft (next-gen A-10?).

  • the raptor isnt just air to air, it carries a JADAM.

  • jgatoc3, you don't know what you're talking about. The EF isn't small and it certainly won't get plasma stealth anytime soon, probably ever.

  • First of all, I'm not American. The Rapotor is actually cost-effective. Quite frankly, it's so dominant that you don't need that many of them. The US has close to a thousand F-15s, those weren't cheap either. That many raptors won't be needed.

The EF is a good plane but it too turned out extremely expensive. Too many countries with different needs. The JSF will cost about the same and it's one generation more advanced.

  • EF 38 millons vs F22 100 millons, even USA can not produce a lot of raptors, it is so expensive, besides, EF is multi roll, Raptor is just for air combat, Ef is small and is easy to become a stealt, using plasma for example o change the materials, also the EF can use vectorials engines as the su 37.

  • im newbie here

can recomend any site on fighter jet??

  • If the Aurora were weaponized, it would be an unstopable fighter.

  • Despite being an American, I think the F-22 is going in the wrong direction. A 100 million dollar fighter is just wrong. The Eurofighter has done nothing but impress me. The only flaws I spotted in this video is that at 6:43, an F-16 is firing a radar-guided Sparrow missile, not an IR missile like they're talking about. And Vietnamese SAMs were radar guided, not IR.

  • 1)the f-22 incoporates stealth technology

2)thrust vectoring technology makes the f-22 extremely manueverable

3)HUD and other display settings let the pilot fly easier

in the case of f-22 vs Eurofighter T. i doubt the eurofigter can even find the f-22 let alone out manuever it.just because Eurofighter is fast doesn't mean it can outrun an AAM or SAM.

  • The F-22 would eat the Eurofighter for breakfast. Mmm! Tasty.

  • I'm not saying the F-22 is lacking in any performance aspect. But I don't think even the F-22's superior performance is really worth a hundred million dollars. Also, I never said the Eurofighter has better performance than an F-22; its just more cost-effective. Yes, the F-22 is a better air superiority fighter than the Eurofighter, but nothing else can match those two, and I doubt the US and any Typhoon customers will duke it out. I like both, but I like the Eurofighter a bit more.

  • EF's agility actually surpasses the F22's. I would like to see the F22 doing 12G's. :P

Besides, the EF's HUD is even more advanced than the Raptors. Sight activated firing system for example;)

But I agree with the last guy... I doubt they ever gonna fight each-other

  • I like the way it's called "The Ultimate Fighter Jet". 50 years from now,the typhoon will be nothing against new developments then.

  • The f-22,JSF-35 and even the f-15 would kick the shit at of the eurofighter typhoon

  • Actually, when you're fighting an enemy aircraft three things are necessary to win: a good aircraft, good piloting skills, and chance. The F-22 has been defeated by typhoon thanks to the 2 last factors. There is no shame in this. For eg F-15 has been defeated in exercise even by Mirage 2000 and F-16.

  • British pilots have kicked F-22's ass at red flag with their Eurofighters.(believe it or not ,I'm not british!)

  • I'm not a typhoon fan (i'm a rafale and mirage 2000 one ) but i must admit that british pilots have won against F-22's. It's a brilliant aircraft in the hands of good pilots

  • It's pretty sad that they didn't give more credit to the Germans for the beginnings of the jet fighter. The early ww2 fighters are based off German designs.

  • F22 doesnt have any helmet mounted sight cuz it is primarily design to engage in long distance and it has stealth technology anyway that's why they didnt bother to put that in F22. both planes are great the thing is they are made for different purpose.

  • Since the two Germany governments merged back together at the end of the Cold War and the Western Bloc inherited their MiG 29s and tested them in combat, the U.S. has been (albiet slowly) refitting their fighters with the Joint Helmet-mounted Cuesing System. Eventually all American fighters in active service will have it.

  • thyphoon's radar has a lower RCS which means it can detect the raptor, and when it comes to supercruise both has sustained super cruise.and both are made to engage in long distance F22 can engage at 100 miles while EF can engage at 85 miles in terms of targeting system EF has the advantage, when it comes to speed f22 can cruise at a max of mach 2.80 EF can cruise at mach 2.30

  • What did you say, F-22 rules, i dont think so u know why? thypoon can sustain 9G. F22 cannot, thypoon is made aero dynamically unstable to become more agile as possible which is handy in a dogfight. F22 is made stable and only more manueverable in subsonic speed cuz it can point it's nozel but in super sonic speed typhoon is more maneuverable

  • Eurofighter ...as the ultimate fighter jet? i dont think so....british pride got hurt once again

  • I agree. A brilliant aircraft, but not the ultimate.

  • cool!!!!!

These are the best creation of our technologi!
