Shame your vidcam farked their sound, looks & what I imagine their sound would be live...is good...lead singers mastered all the rock moves fully hey...I wonder when Australia will steal them & claim them as our own, like we allways do hahaha...cheers : )
Good point - I went and found the proper music vid version of this song and put the link in the sidebar so you can enjoy it there. Elevencolors showed me the mic settings last week but it looks like I still had it as too sensitive :(
That said, great bunch of guys. Hehe, you know you've made it as a Kiwi music artist when Aussies are claiming you as theirs ;)
Ahh yeah they're not bad man...I had the pleasure of having a couple of beers with Jon Toogood of Shihad when they played in Margaret River in about 1996 & talked about the NZ music scene & how many bands have bailed over to Oz. he was a cool guy...seen them a few times starting back from their Big Day Out gig in like 1994 which was awesome. I was a big fan of split Enz as well : )
Ah! Good question! The "onna" is their basist, who apparently injured her back in a cliff diving accident on the US leg of the tour (somehow, Kiwis seem to have this kind of thing happen a lot...). Good news is that she is apparently recovering, but the manager took over playing bass for the rest of the tour, which ends this week when they head back to NZ. These guys are hardcore by the way - straight off a 13 hr flight from Germany into a gig when they got here!
But dude, everytime you walk in the room, you always end up getting all the sugar mamas! How is a guy supposed to compete? This was all a bit spur of the moment, but definitely, we can get everyone together to hang out soon, man!
Actually, my understanding is that they are an unsigned Kiwi band that is just rounding out a tour of the US, Europe and Japan, before going back to NZ, and then going to Canada where someone has offered to record, although they want to set up in the US. Kat recommended them to me - she is an artist signed up with a music label here in Japan - it was pretty cool. I'll show clips of the other bands on Hikotalk.
Haha, I figured I had some good video of it, and just kept it secret and got it out so people could find out about their gigs before they go - cool hanging out, let's meet up again soon!
There will be more - Kat is a pretty cool... well.. cat. We will hang out again and I will show off her very cool channel, and her career a bit. Other Kiwi YouTubers in Japan are Sarah from thedailyenglishshow and JohnnySamoa, both up Hokkaido who I hope to meet someday, but hopefully this might be the start of getting more out of the woodwork! Glad you liked it!
