Thanks for posting this memory. Buck was more than a band director. He was active in the leadership of the First Baptist Church, gave countless hours for the benefit of City of Hope. I was honored to be one of two freshmen in the band, thrilled to find that he had purchased a brand new french horn for my use. I complained endlessly about the Studio Band being only for guys back then. He came to the hospital to visit my dad; he was so honored by Buck's visit. B. Sanders York, class of 1967.
