I downloaded Picasa for the first time today and as soon as I downloaded it, it started scanning MY WHOLE COMPUTER!! FOR LIKE HALF AN HOUR! And this happened EVERY time I opened the program. It wouldn't let me choose and pick which pictures to open like a normal program. And then I thought if I just "remove"folders from picasa. Then I realized it was sending those folders to my RECYCLE BIN!!!! WTF??

I had to uninstall Picasa. I hope they fix this bug soon, until then, I'll stick with Photoshop.

it's no bug if you want to organize your pics in a hierarchy different from your folder one you can create Albums. You can open specific pictures using Picasa Photo Viewer > Edit in Picasa. You can also specify which folders you want Picasa to 'watch' in the Folder Manager.

In Picasa you can export an image in a resized format (800x600, 1024x768 ecc...) Did you mean that?

As if all PCs run Windows and there are only two OSes existant. Extending face recognition (already in v3.1) to allow name tagging is a neat feature... and the ability to suggest other faces as being the same person... it will be interesting to see how accurate this is, esp when photos contain family members with similar faces. I use Picasa mainly for Google Earth 3D modelling, so face matching isn't a hot feature for me, but I will certainly give it a try. :-)
