i liked worms 3d more than reloaded (and also more than mayhem)

it's harder for me to judge my aim in 2d perspective..

Controls are badly tweaked and sometimes even confusing. I don't understand what was wrong with old ones. And what's with the exclusion of back jump? Maybe I'm just being nostalgic but I think old worms were superior to this. After buying the game I can't help feeling kind of ripped off.

@alxmxmff I kinda agree about the controlls but luckily I have a wired 360 pad so I just connect that and it auto binds the controlls to what it would be on a console worms game for me, but yes, without the game pad I find it awkward to play

It's nice review all right, bro, but, unfortunately, not true! I've been playing worms for years now and this latest installment didn't live up to my expectations at all. In terms of gameplay everything seems so awkward. New physics are big step in a wrong direction if you ask me. Widescreen resolution really bothers me. Can't seem to make worms look bigger and moving background, although pretty, gets rather annoying 'cause it prevents you from clearly seeing obstacles on landscape.

The big tactic for playing vertical maps is to get up high as possible when the enemy is on the bottom and has wasted all his ropes/jetpacks. This will make you unreachable so you can easily poop on his head!

Just listen to this 'TEAM 17' employee! Don't believe him a thing, the game SUCKS big time! Poor mechanics, ridiculous physics, lack of some essential controls (back jump, straight upward jump...) and weapons/utilities, neglected strategic element and the camera is probably the worst of all. Everything is so tiny that you'll probably need telescope to successfully avoid mines thrown all over the landscape. Without exaggerating, the worst 2D Worms game ever. EVER!

This is a good review. We can see that you're obviously a fan of the series, but you remain truthful about what you do and do not fully approve of, which is important. It lets us long-time fans know how we might feel about the game in advance.

I've played the demo of this on the PS3 (was released recently). It's the first time I really played a Worms game and I enjoyed it.

I haven't played much Worms since the original came out, but the title music still made me quite nostalgic. I think It will give this a go providing it runs on Wine.

@LJonathan It's called X-Fire and it's a freely downloadable program mainly used to chat with your friends while ingame. I strongly recommend it. It also tracks how many hours you play as you've seen assuming that it supports the game in question. It doesn't support Worms Reloaded yet much to my annoyance but it should be sometime this week. They were recently bought over so there has been some changes and delays.

As a programmer I'd like to see an SDK provided with the game to easily create not only user created objects (weapons, items, etc.) but more importantly AI -- it would be nice to easily allow for arbitrary programmers to develop their own AI variants and play them against each other.

@ioctlvoid I remember the Age of Empires series had something like that. Just basic text files which you could easily edit to make the AI behave exactly as you wanted. I never tried it myself (I mean it was simple but clearly gruelling work) but yeah, I love that idea.

@TheFinalHighlander Yeah, I still have yet to get SC2, I've been playing SC alot lately and am getting onto VC2 whoch I reccomend, I want to play WC, but I like playing chronologically, and am not sure if I can find or even play the original. If you could tell me how to find and play it that would be nice. Also, SC2 irs really good, I did play a bit of a trial I was given, but for me, it was emmensely different tech wise to the original. The factions have been changed.

Very well made video David, love your reviews. Back in the 90´s i had the "Full Wormage " pack, it includes Worms 1+2 and Worms Pinball. The new game looks amazing, ahh so many games to play :D
