Ya, well, the fact (which one ?) that women's brains are 260 grams SMALLER ( lighter please if you talk about weight) than men's is also a major reason why women can't play chess(no it's because they have to spend their time cooking). @mautand it is because their playing 960 chess, the starting position is sorted, making playing it more dificult, because all the openings are discarded and you shhould brain storm since the very beginning. it´s also called fischer chess, because bobby fischer invented it

@mautand acording to chess 960 principles, the pieces are placed disorderly, but at least one rook got to be at one extreme of the king, so at least the players will have one side for castling. also the pices are randomly disposed, but being the same for both sides.

Women can become excellent chess players like they can become excellent in mathematics. However as we know back in school times, there were quite many excellent student girls who struggled to get good marks in mathematics (and got them only out of hours of work) while excellent student boys simply revised a bit and got the marks having fun.

Chess is mathematics and men have brains working better for it. Women are better in other things. Does not mean they are stupid or something.

Concentration and stress for long periods of time causes fatigue. Since men are stronger they can sustain more fatigue for more time. So men would have and advantage over women. Thats why there are separated categories by genre. Alexandra and Judith are just the two of the few women that can beat any man in the world incluiding Kasparov

İt is not because they are seperated. Women actually play in chess tournaments against men, it is only because men's tournaments at master level are simply too strong for most of the women. It is almost impossible for them to win any prize, so that is why they play seperately.

actually the number of female price winners in "men" competion (actually "open for all" competions!) match the share of women playing chess among all chess players, they are even slighlty, but not significantly, over represented.

there is one general class,where men and women may compete and one only for women.

So there is no "men only" class.

Some players like Judith Polgar refuse to play in women events, most do both.

After all it is meant to develope women chess, as they they have ADDITIONAL competitions.

i know that - but nevertheless 1. the average strength of men is higher, 2. there was never a woman in top 10 of elo list, and 3. you need a lower elo as woman to get any title like ´GM. these are facts.

1. the average strenghts ("median") is about the same among men and women. Men are not superioir in that comparison.Their peak players are higher,but not the average.

2.What about Judith Polgar? She was as high as number 4 at one time.

3.For Women Grandmaster, but not if a Woman want to get a Grandmaster.

Dont mistake the titles Grandmaster and Women Grandmaster.

They are two different titles.

So all three facts are in fact no facts.

i talked about that with kosteniuk in the past - she agreed that men generally play a better chess - maybe that depends on the less number of female players - get the fide elo ist - but i dont make any difference to my opponents gender - male or female has no meaning for me if i have a match
