LA Noire is not going to be a contender. The giant map had nothing to do in it, the story was choppy and didn't flow, and the protagonist was extremely unlikable. The only cool part was playing as that other guy at the end.

Just remember, facial animations do not make a great game. Team Bondi is best known for their The Getaway games for PS2, so they're not exactly known for the best gameplay. I can only hope this is as good as Alan Wake. While the tech is impressive, did they spend more time on the tech, or did they spend more time on the gameplay mechanics and varied missions?

@MegaRekyyli I love the Mass Effect Series and it is an RPG, but its almost disguised because it actually puts a lot of effort into combat unlike traditional RPG's. I think his point was that the genre of RPG's has a certain crowd. Im pretty sure that someone who only likes shooters isnt going to want to play Elder Scrolls V. But they may want to play LA Noire because it has guns. Same way that people who like RPG's may want to play LA Noire to explore the world. Rockstar make all rounder games.

Mass Effect is one of the most highly rated Xbox titles of the decade. So the competition is going to be very, very tough. Well the reason they did the facial expressions so well is because the game is based around "are you lying? yeah i think ya are" your suppose pick up on the visual cues people do when lying, telling the truth, faking being sad, actually being sad, etc. This is going to even more of a brain tingler than heavy rain since in Heavy rain it was basically hit or miss. Here you can be like "weeeeeeeeelll he was being a dick and smirking alot maybe hes hiding something?" So mind blowing!

This isn't even that groundbreaking, motion capture like this has been used for ages, this is just the first time its being incorperated into a video game. This will greatly enhance who a games feels visually, but will it alter how you play at all? Not really.
