Well I think that the magician's nephew should be first because they have started the lion the witch and the wardrobe even know the lion the witch and the wardrobe the 2nd book of the the the chronicles of narnia and the magician's nephew is the first book of the series and it tells us about how narnia came to be and who were the first people who discover it. I hope that this movie will be first than the silver chair.

They better do The Silver Chair sooner rather than later because in the book Eustace returns (only one year later in normal time) and if they postpone it too long the current actor who plays Eustace will be to old for the role... The Horse and his Boy can wait awhile as it is set when the Pensieves are older, same with the Last Battle.

Since Disney started it in this order I think they should finish it in that order.

I love the magician's nephew beause it tells you so much on how the world was created, but it is kind of weird since they hinted at doing the silver chair. And horse and his boy would be the worst one to do. it has no connection to any of the other books.
They must be arranging it so that they can do Silver Chair and Last Battle back to back, which I think is wise-they need the same actors for those 2, and they dont need the 4 kids to look young anymore, which must be a relief. I like the order
With all the technology out there, you saw how fast they did harry potter. i am a bit upset that all has taken so long. i got to speak w/someone involved w/the orig prod of 1st movie. i asked them if they were going to do whole series w/all the same actors, etc. that was their goal. they should have had everything set up before they started so they could have done them all in order. i say they do both! it doesn't require the same casting besides aslan(voice) for main characters, &they play complete different storylines anyway. walden media can film both and they know it. like the harry potter series, they should not miss the opportunity of using the actors youth as they have done with the other narnia films showing the characters and how they grow. maybe start magicians nephew and halfway through start silver chair to show age on eustace(will)'s character. anyone agree?

Stop bitchin'. It makes perfect sense to do Magicians Nephew next, it is afterall "technically" book number 1!!! Yes, I think after Wardrobe the next steps were Caspian then Dawntreader but now they are done, Nephew should defo be the next in line before moving on. Wonder if they'll do Horse and his boy, book 3... maybe they can work part of it in somehow... we'll see.

Wow, how will the Magicians Nephew be a good film? Man, I would have to disagree with that. It makes sense to have the Magicians Nephew first because it shows the origin of how Narnia came known and how the Closet was made. This makes total sense, unless your thinking of recapping and putting all the exciting stuff first and then making the "boring" stuff in the middle meaning that the Horse and His Boy weren't necessary then idk, its your opinion and I totally respect that just saying.
I think they should stick to the plan.... do it in the order they were written... I hope to goodness Will Poulter is still young enough to be Eustace by the time they FINALLY get around to the silver chair! Ah well, at least they're keeping it going....

I'm happy their doing the Magician's Nephew. They already have a Silver Chair. Although it's really old now. They don't yet have the Magician's Nephew. or the Last Battle, or The Horse and his Boy. They need to get on making them before they remake Silver Chair.
They really should do the Silver chair first and then go back and do the ones that they missed. Otherwise Will Poulter will look WAY too old for the part in the silver chair.
Dawn Treader was my favorite of the movie releases, so far. Will Poulter did a good job playing Eustace Scrubb, but by the time they go ahead and film The Silver Chair, he might be too old looking to play the part. I'm hope I'm wrong.
I'm actually pretty psyched that the next movie will be the prequel to the series, with a completely different cast of characters, rather than a continuation. Don't get me wrong, the actor who played Eustace was PERFECT, but I'd imagine he'd be a little old by the time they finished 'The Silver Chair.' And to the haters: how about we just appreciate the films for what they offer, not what they lack: the special effects that bring them to life, and Lewis's message of love that still rings true.

@tbirdykee I'm not sure if you're aware but although the Magician's Nephew is listed chronologically as the first book, it was actually the sixth to be released. This is because it was always intended to be a prequel read after the other five books with The Last Battle intended to be read directly after it. When the books were republished and renumbered according to their chronoligical order, many argued with The Magician's Nephew being first because it spoiled much of the story if read first.
@Satsuki389 The republishing of the novels in chronological order spoils some of the magic of reading them in the order of their original publication. When I was a child, I read the books in the order in which they were (more or less) originally published, with Magician's Nephew being the 6th and The Last Battle as 7th. It's much more exciting to return to characters that had appeared in earlier books and see where they came from. So I agree with you.
Fox ruined this film... They should put Andrew Adamson and Disney back to the next movie if ever. Andrew have a really great job with the first two movies.

@wangyuxiao1 No The magician's nephew shows the origin of Narnia, Aslan, and how the lampost and the white witch came into Narnia. It's the prequel, quite some years before the Pevensie children are born. "It's an OMGosh that's where this and that happened" book.

@Steveinator100 The problem with the Horse and his Boy if I recall correctly, is that it shows the young Kings and Queens of Narnia visiting the other Human realms of the world and I don't think they displayed any awareness of them in the previous books and movies. The Silver Chair would be the next logical choice but I think the studio execs don't want to show the funeral of King Caspian.
I think they should film Silver Chair and Magicians Nephew at the same time, release Silver chair first then release M.N. while they start filming The Last Battle--if you think about it M.N and L.B have a lot of the same aspects that they could use at roughly the same time (and quite possibly save money)

I think the Magician's Nephew should have been the first Narnia movie to be released personally, since it's introducing Narnia and shows how everything came to be. It just kind of seems weird to throw it in there in the middle of the series. But I do like the idea of it being made before the Silver Chair just so we can see the beginning of Narnia and get that out of the way before we continue the series.. since The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe didn't really explain it.
@Emjlje Maybe, but the truth is, and as Walden Media pointed out, if they had waited to start LWW, the actors for the Pevensie kids would have probably been too old to be in it once they started. And that's a good thing, considering the actors were perfect for the roles.

Anyway, I saw these Narnia films in cases at Blockbuster several years ago. Never watched them...Narnia on the big screen just couldn't suffice.
Though how they could ruin The Magician's Nephew, I'm not sure. I'm hoping it's not possible to mess with it. Charn will be dismal, The Wood Between the Worlds will be fantastical, actuallty seeing a CREATION of a world will tickle people.
Magician's Nephew has some incredible scenes in it. When they find Jadith on that weird realm where the sun is a red giant...how the lamp post got into Narnia...the list goes on.
I think it makes sense to have The Magician's Nephew next, like some other people have said, it gives some actors time to age to fit the part better in their film. Plus, I love the Magician's Nephew book, even though it isn't filled with action, it is a brilliant origin story for Narnia. Bring it on! I love Narnia.
It's good as long as they don't skip The Chronicles of Narnia: The Horse and His Boy, because this movie showcases more of Edmund and frankly his the only character that wasn't given any highlight at all of the past movies. It's always Peter and Caspian......
I just want more Narnia, but I do think Silver Chair will work better for today's "every movie needs action" attitude. I'm worried The Magicians Nephew will be changed a lot to add more action and 3D scenes, which wouldn't be too bad unless they twist the story.

With all the technology out there, you saw how fast they did harry potter. i am a bit upset that all has taken so long. i got to speak w/someone involved w/the orig prod of 1st movie. i asked them if they were going to do whole series w/all the same actors, etc. that was their goal. they should have had everything set up before they started so they could have done them all in order. Magician's nephew is actually 1st book! oh well.

i say they do both! it doesn't require the same casting besides aslan(voice) for main characters, &they play complete different storylines anyway. walden media can film both and they know it. like the harry potter series, they should not miss the opportunity of using the actors youth as they have done with the other narnia films showing the characters and how they grow. maybe start magicians nephew and halfway through start silver chair to show age on eustace(will)'s character. anyone agree?

Stop bitchin'. It makes perfect sense to do Magicians Nephew next, it is afterall "technically" book number 1!!! Yes, I think after Wardrobe the next steps were Caspian then Dawntreader but now they are done, Nephew should defo be the next in line before moving on. This makes total sense, unless your thinking of recapping and putting all the exciting stuff first and then making the "boring" stuff in the middle meaning that the Horse and His Boy weren't necessary then idk, its your opinion and I totally respect that just saying.

Dawn Treader was my favorite of the movie releases, so far. Will Poulter did a good job playing Eustace Scrubb, but by the time they go ahead and film The Silver Chair, he might be too old looking to play the part. I'm hope I'm wrong.

I'm actually pretty psyched that the next movie will be the prequel to the series, with a completely different cast of characters, rather than a continuation. Don't get me wrong, the actor who played Eustace was PERFECT, but I'd imagine he'd be a little old by the time they finished 'The Silver Chair.' And to the haters: how about we just appreciate the films for what they offer, not what they lack: the special effects that bring them to life, and Lewis's message of love that still rings true.

@tbirdykee I'm not sure if you're aware but although the Magician's Nephew is listed chronologically as the first book, it was actually the sixth to be released. This is because it was always intended to be a prequel read after the other five books with The Last Battle intended to be read directly after it. When the books were republished and renumbered according to their chronoligical order, many argued with The Magician's Nephew being first because it spoiled much of the story if read first.

When I was a child, I read the books in the order in which they were (more or less) originally published, with Magician's Nephew being the 6th and The Last Battle as 7th. It's much more exciting to return to characters that had appeared in earlier books and see where they came from. So I agree with you.

I thought that would mean the next movie to be about Eustace. Is Eustace even in the Magician's nephew's story?

@Steveinator100 The problem with the Horse and his Boy if I recall correctly, is that it shows the young Kings and Queens of Narnia visiting the other Human realms of the world and I don't think they displayed any awareness of them in the previous books and movies. The Silver Chair would be the next logical choice but I think the studio execs don't want to show the funeral of King Caspian.

I think the Magician's Nephew should have been the first Narnia movie to be released personally, since it's introducing Narnia and shows how everything came to be. It just kind of seems weird to throw it in there in the middle of the series. But I do like the idea of it being made before the Silver Chair just so we can see the beginning of Narnia and get that out of the way before we continue the series.. since The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe didn't really explain it.

@Emjlje Maybe, but the truth is, and as Walden Media pointed out, if they had waited to start LWW, the actors for the Pevensie kids would have probably been too old to be in it once they started. And that's a good thing, considering the actors were perfect for the roles.

Anyway, I saw these Narnia films in cases at Blockbuster several years ago. Never watched them...Narnia on the big screen just couldn't suffice.
Though how they could ruin The Magician's Nephew, I'm not sure. I'm hoping it's not possible to mess with it. Charn will be dismal, The Wood Between the Worlds will be fantastical, actuallty seeing a CREATION of a world will tickle people.
