  • lol at when you paused it at 1:12 . It doesnt matter if its his first or second serve, because no matter which it is, he elbow is still at or below his hip, which should never happen. :/

  • @asfadasfa1234 oh i actually like that comment

  • The trophy position looks great for a kicker, but then he totally messes up and swings the racket across the shoulder.. sorta like frying pan. Ouch, looks very unhealthy.

Pause the video at 0:45 to see what I mean.

  • That's not a kick serve bro

  • @kkct7 dude it is... he only has this serve and it's a kicker, that's why I videoed it--it's the oddest looking kicker I have ever seen in my life.

  • It looks like his gonna get an injury after the trophy pose o.o

  • bad serving action!

  • @tonycuip what's wrong

  • @hi10spro everything before contact point

  • OK whats wrong.

R-Elbow is too low in "trophy pose" and too close to body causing a decrease in rotational speed and increasing load at shoulder. He then extends his arm to almost strait at the beginning of the throwing phase adding to previous issue and at this point is loosing 20% velocity overall and he will at some point develop a rotator cuff issue if he has not already got one

  • OK there is a lot to like in this serve, there are a few things that are restricting his performance and increasing greatly his risk of shoulder damage. OK let look whats good.

His vertical extension and trunk rotation co-ordination. Perfect, good balance, co-ordination and power. He has very little arch in his lower back, awesome as little risk of disk issues. Great pronation and racquet acceleration through the contact phase.

  • pause at :16 when he is in "backscratcher" position to see something weird

  • @scorchfrost it's a bitching serve, but it's also a weird serve. but it moves...and that's what caught my eye--it's a big kick when it lands and it's a fast court...so on a slow court, this serve is devilish

  • You know, I have to agree with some of the comments here. I don't see this as a very good training video for young tennis players. There's something flawed about that swing and it doesn't look right. He's not going to be able to play tennis like that forever. If I were him, I'd get this corrected.

  • his technique is gonna kill him when he gets older.

  • "beautiful serve" . . . even better return, dropped it right in his feet.

  • @geepeeone i haven't seen this guy play for awhile, but he's an university player

  • Too ugly serve.

  • wrong !! wrong !! wrong !!!

  • Eeww

  • Wrong snap in the wrist and off the eyes on the ball. With this way you cannot generate the ball power in a normally way and will cause injury.

  • @dclee2000 please explain to me why it's an awesome kicker because it was an awesome kicker without looking like a kicker

  • @hi10spro The player does not use the rotation power which should be made by sholder and wrist. He is pushing ball hardly using much of energy. It may cause back and sholder problem. Also, he need to see the ball more. He is looking at net before he touch the ball.

  • This is great kick serve !!!! may be this swring is producing kick but this is not tennis for god sake!

  • WACK

  • This is another realy poor demonstration of a serve fraught with injury risk. I'm sory but you realy should take this off here. The only person going to benefit from this will be a medical pratcitioner at some point.

  • @deve8uk what are the points that are injury risks

  • I've been playing competitively in the US since I was a kid and have seen and competed against even middle school players with much better form than this. You should really show videos of players with good form and function that will teach aspiring players fluid technique that will ensure power, consistency and not induce injuries. This is overall very bad technique even if the ball kicks like crazy. I feel the same about a number of your videos to be honest.

  • @shredfromthedead sorry bro, the purpose of this site is to show people what people are doing and maybe, just maybe they will see something they like, or looks like them and realize whoa. it's an everyman site, that's my area. the goal is to share. there are more people that are average than above average also i try to give strategies you don't find on the mainstream site--specific solutions to specific situations. everyman tennis, but hey you can start your own site and do that

  • @hi10spro No, I'm sorry but the title of this video is "A Great Kick Serve Demonstration 2." People will search Youtube for "a great kick serve" and find your video to which you're already implying is not a great kick serve by any respectful standards other than some "average everyman" and yet you call it "Great." Do you not see the problem here? Arrgh whatever.

  • @shredfromthedead oh homes, does this look like a kick serve? no. is it one, this serve was AWESOME. the jump was HUGE...it was MASSIVE... if you can combine the elements of this serve into your serve, it will fix it. try some of the things.. and it doesn't look like a kicker. but i like how there's minimal back arch--because that's how i hurt myself

  • i won't say his technique is wrong but it's just not mechanically sound.

it's impossible to generate rapid racket speed without dropping the racket head,

    like the guy's doing.

  • ...I'd love to see how it actually hits the court.

  • I can never do the snap bit

  • dude, you have really outdone yourself this time. Normally I just watch your videos and laugh, but this specific one is down right dangerous. The full force off the acceleration and impact is falling straight on his shoulder. believe me, if this little star of yours continues to serve like this, his shoulder will be destroyed within 5 years.

  • @marieloud now that is interesting, he plays for a local college. i would have to see how he is. i admit i shot this because this is a crazy odd motion, but i never thought about that. he's not my student. i wouldn't teach this because well, it's not a kick serve, i have no idea where he learned how to do this

  • one of the worst serve techniques i ve seen in my life. And that includes my grandpa. Not talking about the speed of the ball and the result of it, the technique is just HORRIBLE.why post this garbage on utube.

  • @thanoseft because it's different and it works. you know when Andy Roddick started serving people were like that's so weird, the way he sets up...but the result was tremendous so now everyone serves like that. you try to incorporate this motion--you realize it's a kick serve right but it doesn't look like one does it...

  • terrible serve to be honest

  • @Foreverguga1 why? it's a massive moving serve with pace

  • UGLY, SERVE...WRONG...WRONG...WRONG

  • @WTFblogg that's the amazing part, this is NOT a kick serve...BUT it's a kick serve that's the amazing part...it's a MONSTER kick serve

  • He's gotta bend his elbow more so that the racquet drops and almost scratches his back. There's no elbow extension in his serve. Bet you he can get a lot more pop if he does.

  • @blahraptors i showed this serve because he has a massive serve that doesn't look like it

  • This is wrong man.....To have a good kick (topspin) serve, you need to come with your right arm, underneeth the ball. You'll have this movement if you'll come with your right hand from behind your head...Now, your arm is not going to the back at all....

  • @StefanoCiampichetti that's why I wanted to show this video, this is a massive kick serve yet does it look like one? nope

  • @hi10spro But I don't believe there is a massive kick in this serve.....I can't see the result, but I really don't think there is any kick...

  • @StefanoCiampichetti why would i lie? massive kick--that's why it caught myself

  • Its likely he gets a lot of kick cuz he's hitting the ball from quite a height - when he jumps and he looks tall for a Thai too...which stands to reason that the ball will also bounce up high - as a result - as it lands on the other side.

  • @jkdhoward he's about five foot 8...too bad, if he was like 6 foot, he would be awesome

  • You're serve is wrong man. I don know about your tennis skills but left hand must still looking up.

  • @BVSUser999 that's not me. i thought this serve was strange also but the results...the kick WAS MASSIVE

  • Bring your racquet brings you more power..

  • @illusionmofo restate it, not sure what you mean

  • @hi10spro Oh, I missed a word. Bringing your racquet BACK brings you more power, you kept it vertically symmetrical to your body 1:06 - 1:08 will show you it. When you brought your raquet back, you position your serving arm as if there is no space behind your body. Use that space to bring your racquet back and swing it forward, brings you a smoother and more powerful serve.

  • @illusionmofo um thats not me. but i get what you're saying. this guy's kicker is aWESOME

  • Whatever wins you matches is what makes you good

  • @theriot31cubs this guy wrecks his competition

  • unorthodox and thats all i have to say

  • @dellam04 what caught my eye...was the result and how unusual his motion was. this was a very slick court yet this serve was HUGE--great movement and kick

  • I see a lot of people give thumbs down for this vid but I would have to say that this a vid of a pro tennis. His name is Michael Yani. His Kick serve kicks up passed your head. The angle of the vid doesn't do him justice.

Check out his full match. This vid has good angle of the way he serves.

    watch?v=61Rh85FrQTo

  • @anle1109 OHHH SEE, that's what I'm talking about...his serve is MONSTER

  • hi10sport are you a ptr proffesional tennis coach?

  • @soccer13soccer uspta pro 1

  • this could be his natural motion,no way that any half-sane instructor/coach would teach/instruct someone to serve that way! Sorry pal but it shouldn't be on youtube, because it causes more harm to your reputation and potential followers of yours, sorry

  • wth is that!?!?!?!? the neccessarity of power bucle to make a lot more of power and spin is lakely not uses by this guy....

  • Sorry but you have a horrible technique and this is no way to teach an effective second serve.

  • @will191990 this is a MONSTER kick serve...but the point is this is something that works and you might have something to pick up from it. it's different--but so was Roddick's serve, lendl forehand, mcenroe's serve. just because it's not orthodox, doesn't mean it's wrong if it WORKS...

  • If you look closely at around 0:21, his racket drops in such a way that the strings are always pointed upwards, which basically decreases the amount of acceleration he can get on the ball. I know you insist that it was a big kick, and I believe you, but it could be even better if his form was fixed.

  • @2random4tomatoes OH--i'll give you credit for that one, never thought about it--he gets a longer range of motion, more of an impulse, more force on the ball over a distance...good point. I'm using that for serves

  • when I was taught the fundamentals of serving, they always preach to keep the head up until contact. At freeze 0:23, he's clearly showing off his beginner nature of not looking at the ball. In addition to, the vertical jump doesn't help him in getting more power. A forward jump into the court would help out his momentum.

  • @tirsogamboa hmmm that's a good point

  • bad use of wrist. cause some serious paint to beginners

  • youve got some weird videos hi10spro. While admittedly my serve is the weakest part of m owny game, this guy in the video has got a hitch and therefore not a good complete learning demo, though many aspects are sound here.

  • @TonLars but you know what this guy's SERVE was MONSTER kick!

  • @hi10spro youre completely missing the point. Anyone can hit a ball a number of different ways and have some good results at times. This serve has some technical flaws so its tough to use this in a video demo

  • the arm is not loose at all, way too tense and the grip is alright but the wrist is not loose, kind of a slap more than anything, watch the wrist just collapse back and then stiffen, but good leg drive and bit more trunk rotation would be good which would engage core muscles and not rely so much on the smaller muscle as @foreverguga mentioned

  • WTF??? Have you ever taken a tennis lesson? what's wrong with you...

  • This is a self improvised crap service because he is hitting with his pectoral muscles and not with his upper arm muscles. He forces himself to do that because of a wrong racquet grip and a bad ball toss.

You can not generate decent speed with a serve motion like that. Secondly, if you are over - rotated towards the net like him during your service motion, you can barely use your back extensors to push your body weight into the ball and generate optimal speed

  • this is an amateurish serve. this should be titled THIS IS NOT TO SERVE. this is service for freaks!!! hi10pro tips are all useless. someone please teach these guys real lessons.

  • There is something weird on the way he moves his arm after the trophy pose. If the server is massive as you say, the way it is now, it would be even better if he naturally lets the raquet fall behind his back while his back is perpendicular to the net and then starts the shoulder rotation....

  • @lu5dx I didn't understand how it was such a big kick serve

  • why the gay voice??

  • I hate it when people post videos glorifying how good they are at something when they're at all what they claim to be. The kick serve, not only does not seem to have the proper mechanics to induce any kick, but it would be a poor serve for any serve, maybe rolling the ball in, but that's about it. Look at some better videos with good instructors see what they're doing and maybe you can learn. Right now you're in denial.

  • @lureyourkidsinvan um, you realize that's not me in the video. 2) it's a kick serve. I watched it BOUNCE...BUT like I said before, it doesn't look like a kicker now does it. 3) this is a university match--1 of 12...this is the best guy from 24 guys. Trust me homey, I've seen a lot of tennis--this guy was AWESOME... and thus, his serve is on vid--and it's because 1) it doesn't look like a kicker. 2) it's unusual. 3) IT HAD A MASSIVE KICK

  • this is crap

  • @stinjos why?

  • @hi10spro....c'mon, you're trying to make a joke or st?? It actually looks like a windmill, the way it moves....I think you're joking. "beatiful serve', well it's not!

  • is that a sky hook?

  • @packers452 you know that's probably the best analogy, but it's a tough kicker

  • Indeed, it's not a good example to show how a kick serve works.

The serve we can see in the first seconds is a flat serve! Looks a bit like a fly swatter...and there is also no good shoulder turn!

  • @CharlyRudnick nope. the first serve is a kicker also. it's a trip, it looks like a flatty but it comes off with a MONSTER KICK... i wish i could have shot the vid from the back so you could see the jump on the ball

  • I also think that this service is something wrong. He is just jumping and hitting by his arm. There is no forward momentum.

  • @fonya3 even if the motion was strange, the result was unreal. It was a MONSTER kick. I think it's his jump into the ball that transferred a lot of energy to the ball. He's not a big guy so....

  • with the right racquet loop motion, this guy would serve twice as hard, because everything else is already powerful!

  • @deapseafish This guy's serve really rocked, and I was shocked because it's so unorthodox.

  • that sere is fine, but you should never teach this serve to anyone. BECAUSE IT'S wrong.

He doesnt let his racket arm drop, he starts with it down. this will definitely slow down the serve and makes the "snap" that roger and does so very well, impossible.

I think ur great and u try hard to learn others (which is awesome) but u teach (sometimes atleast) plain wrong. same with your forehand vids.

  • @kallan1337 homes. I show people different serves because people are different from each other--you think Nadal hits the same as Roger, Nowak, etc? NO! This guy's serve was MASSIVE...it had a MONSTER KICK...why do you need to let your racquet drop? where did you get that? WHO ARE YOU? now you see how it feels so stop hating...

  • are you kidding the guys serve is completely wrong. his right arm is just slapping at the balls. do not attempt this serve

  • @topspinmonkey but dude...this guy's serve was MONSTER and hard to read too

  • are you kidding the guys serve is completely wrong. his right arm is just slapping at the balls. do not attempt this serve

  • are you kidding the guys serve is completely wrong. his right arm is just slapping at the balls. do not attempt this serve

  • @topspinmonkey i want to show possibilities. i don't like the kick serve in general very difficult to teach and hard on the body.

  • he should be corrected still, coz he has a huge problem with that arm movement, he throws it sideways not using that "spring" effect that we need to teach on the service but hey i've seen much worst with excelent results...

  • PLSTROM...how you been? I was kind of shocked that his serve had such a massive kick and such an unusual delivery but in this university tournament, he was by far the best guy out of 15 courts, that I saw. too bad he's short and small. that seems to be a common denominator in Thailand...

  • I cannot understand why you consider this a beautiful serve. It isn't. It's plain weird. He manages to gets decent acceleration at contact point, so no doubt the ball had decent action when it landed, but it's awkward unnatural swinging motion. It's obvious this guy did not play baseball as a kid, because he does not have the natural throwing motion that is needed for a really huge serve. I've heard Andy Roddick can toss a football sixty yards, and look at his kick serve!

  • that's what I liked about it, it didn't look like a kick serve, but it has a MASSIVE KICK?! I was like how, plus these courts were like glass so i was like how the heck is he generating that kind of pace... I thought maybe this is the evolution of the kick--a new way to hit it

  • That's a very odd racket take back.

  • you know...i didn't even notice...kind of a roddick but not.

  • OH and the kick was MASSIVE...good 2 meters? i was like how the hell...he's like 1.8 m tall? five feet 8? 10

  • Yeah, I don't like his service action. The racquet kinda sits back, it doesn't go into the throwing motion. and he lands almost on the baseline, so the ball doesn't get much pop i think? That's just what i think from watching other vids

  • dude...the kick WAS MASSIVE...that's why I shot this video...I couldn't figure it out, how it was such a big kick on a fast court too

  • He hits from the side and through instead of from behind and through, if he changes that he's got even more power in his serve. The back-scratch is what is missing here.

  • it's kind of an odd kick serve. BUT the results were awesome. this kicker was HUGE...and he's only about 5 feet 8 or 9.

  • interesting. it looks like he opens up and almost hits it with a pan grip flat. i know that is not what actually happened, but his slap shot short motion seems to portray this

  • it has a massive kick, but no back arch? well, a slight one. I was really impressed

  • He's probably making it up by using his legs a lot more.

  • he is the same guy from your other kick serve vid

  • um no.. he's a college player from ? I have no idea. I was walking by the courts and saw this event with 6 universities BUT the names were all in Thai...so I have no clue, but there were like 8 courts playing...this guy was by far the best guy from 8 courts

  • oh i thought he was the same guy because his foot kind of did the johnny mac thing like the other kid where his back foot became perpendicular to the baseline

  • heheh the other guy was caucasian...
