  • I saw this video at 5:30 in the morning in early 1997 on MTV when i was leaving for 6AM hockey practice and it was the weirdest video / song i had heard (I was into nirvana, smashing pumpkins, korn at the time) and it never left me

  • so trippy vid

  • This was Number 1 on the day I was born.

  • @ManiaKattaK

Oh god...I'm so old:( What an amazing time in culture this though, albeit on the wrong side of the Atlantic;) Rave culture was just beginning to explode into the US mainstream consciousness, it was an electrifying time to be around. Damn, life was so much more interesting.

  • @lowenklee Yeah, I missed all the best stuff :( Was this that big in the USA?

  • @ManiaKattaK

No, it wasn't that big, but it was exciting that MTV was starting to play it (along with prodigy, chrystal method, fluke, et al), and the fashion trend was influenced by rave/drug culture (futuristic and heroin chic) in the late 90's....and just as quickly it disappeared and MTV dropped our generation, and started pushing boy bands and brittney spears garbage for the kids, and that was it.

  • contrary to popular belief, the tomorrow never knows drum riff (although VERY SIMILAR) isn't the same! Ringo's second snare hits like 1/8th note sooner than the chembro's loop.

  • Those cops can get down.lol

  • stfu about the beatles comments. we get it!

  • it's called a sample. musicians do that sometimes. not ripping the song off, simply recreating it. the beatles were a huge influence to noel gallagher (singer for this track) and the chemical brothers. this song was essentially a tribute. deal with it.

  • This is very like' Tomorrow Never Knows' by the Beatles!

  • @bladeboy2041 total rip off in my opinion

  • There seemed like there was another video, same one but different, It seemed she had red eyes in one video, but In this one she was normal. But either way I remember watching this video one time and felt like I had a nightmare afterwards.

  • Fuck you youtube for playing Good charlette the WHORES of pop culture (youtube adds) before the GODS OF MUSIC THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS!

  • tomorrow never knows is the beat. glad the beatles picked up on that and sued

  • @Babelfish112 you should know the beatles lost that case. its not illegal to be inspired by another artist...

  • @musicsmymedicine yeah, inspiration is great, but when it sounds just like another song........ george harrison's my sweet lord sounded just like 'he's so fine' yet he also lost the case. and fair enough, becuase they sounded almost exactly the same!

  • @Babelfish112 "almost exactly the same" is kind of invalid ya dig? almost and exactly are very different. also realize that Drums, unlike all other musical instruments, are much more limited in their ranges, tones, and arrangements. drums are a much more base instrument and thus they can sound similar across songs.

  • what a tune,,,,,they dont make em like they used to,

  • rip off of tomorrow never knows

  • what are you up to these days lassie?

  • I though see Borat as one of the cops... 0:24

  • Love it.

  • the chemical brothers + Noel Gallagher = EPIC WIN

  • Decadent bourgeois crap.

  • I used to love this style of videos when I was a kid...(okay, still do)

  • Astralwerks uploaded this video and Vevo had it removed in the US for copyright infringement... wtf

  • the blonde is pretty slamable!!

  • @SuperGiantdouche

Hell yeah! I'd bang both her AND her evil counterpart simultaneously!!!

  • Comment removed

  • never liked the chemical brothers, too many ppl up thier asses, and too overhyped in the 90's when the prodigy were smashing it. but this tune is undenyably masterclass and deserves a place in the history books... classic!

  • Hype!!!!!!!!!

  • Who is the cat?

  • This video is about paranoid drug addiction. I'm quite sure.

  • The chick is actress Emilia Fox.

  • Comment removed

  • Proper music by proper artists. Not the shit that's around nowadays.

    LOVE IT :)

  • Gondry, right?

  • LSD

  • i love the break dancing police

  • classic song from the legendary chemical brothers and legend noel gallagher. proper song.

  • the first time i watched this video was the first ime i did shrooms.

It still scares the shit outta me.

  • hey miss doubtfire is in this movie lol

  • 3.36 It is the devil himself!!! OMG

  • fit

  • Use to love the old Chemical Brother 95 to 02 but now there all glvanized. But again there was indie dance post acid market when this came out along with The Prodigy and Underworld,Faithless and Leftfield.

  • @Ablal Swoon is a good track.

  • this shit is trippy

  • If I met a woman who looked like her and dressed that way, I'd piss myself with happiness.

  • @EwokianWisdom - LOL! Yeah, nice little rack she has as well.

  • @EwokianWisdom you should get out more PAL!!!!!

  • @TheWebbsy I live in LA, and NOBODY dresses like her anymore. Thanks for the advice.

  • I love the fact that the beats are a remix of Ringo Starr

  • everyone check my page

  • girl in this looks like alison harvard

  • the hot chick is emilia fox

  • Spek---fucking----takular

  • This is a copy of Tomorrow Never Knows by THE BEATLES, good though.

  • i agree. it's similar, but not in a bad way.

  • I like the breakdancing cops.

  • thats the whore from "smack my bitch up" by prodigy

  • lyrics and voice are by noel gallagher

  • It is being... It is being...

  • Cooolll. The Chemical brothers has interesting and surreal songs and video.I love the beats!

  • I love the formula that the Brothers used for their videos. On Hey Boy, Out of Control, and here. The protagonist is a good looking girl, and not displayed as a sexual object.

  • I'd nail her as long as she didn't talk and made me a sammich afterwards.

  • @eisenkreuzmusik displayed or not she is pretty tidy : )

  • Unfortunately, a song like this would never get to Number 1 nowadays.

  • unfortunatly a song like this it not made nowadays

  • @Benjani7 Its all shit that gets to number one now ... thanks to Simon Cowell ..... tosser!!!! Noel rocks singing on this tho..

  • @Benjani7 too right, mate. Mediocrity rules the airwaves at the moment.

  • @Benjani7 it wasnt number one in 97 either :(

  • I describe this kind of stuff as crossover...

  • "Turn off your mind, relax and flow downstream..." :-D

Seriously, though, this is a pretty interesting song. Pretty cool.

  • jajajaj qe buenooo

  • are the dums sampled from somewhere?

  • Tomorrow Never Knows by The Beatles has a similar drum beat

  • So similar beat and melodic structure that some of the Beatles' lawyers tried to sue back when this song came out!

  • there dun by the drummer from coldplay and thie singin is done by noel gallagher

  • K^^L video, Kem Bros very energizing really !!!

  • 02:21 is the best! Green screen rules

  • Are the Chems sorta retired?

  • Think so.

  • Reminds me of the good ole days when I use to take ACID and watch AMP on MTV

  • God, I miss AMP . . .

  • That looks a lot like my cat in the video at 0:29

  • Some guys wrote this song 35 years ago or more though!

  • you said your mind was jumpin but your body was very old so its jump style get it.

  • It's "You said your body was young but your mind was very old."

  • psychedelic song

    geat

  • sounds like 'tommorow never knows' by the beatles

  • I think you mean Let forever be

  • Directed by:

    Crack McMethspeed

I like techno, but some of the genre's music videos are just, wow. For example:

    0:06

    0:20

    2:30

    2:51

    3:34

Not really following the story arc, either.

Like the song, love the Chemical Brothers, hate this video.

  • this isnt techno, its more like big beat

  • Comment removed

  • Used 'techno' to describe electronic music in general. Trust me, I know the difference.

  • this isnt techno.

  • so fu**ing trippy

  • Is dat noely g on vocals? epic

  • yes that is the arrogant fuck indeed

  • classic

  • Makes you think just how good the beatles were when you listen to this. Not that much difference between this and the original considering that they were made 35 years apart. might have to make revolver my favourite album again for a while.

Top marks to noel and the chem bros for recognising what a tune this is!

  • Esto es "Tomorow never knows" de los Beatles!!!

  • The chick is Emilia Fox

  • Late 90's fashion was great!

  • does anyone know of a music video with a woman wearing black and has some sort of red bandana and is barefoot on the sidewalk?

  • Be more specific. Date/genre of music/band?

  • I think techno, and saw it I think year 2004 or 2006

  • classic track, but what's different about this remaster??? you don't need to be on drugs to appreciate dance music. just need to feel da riddum!

  • trippy&creepy

  • i wish people would leave the drug comments behind u know not everyone need to be fucked up to appreciate this type of music! fuck! u guys make me feel like shit !

  • You don't have to be lucid either.

  • after rave acid trip still dreaming

  • That drumb beat is sooo fcuking good, bloc party did a similar thing

  • Comment removed

  • Souds pretty much like Tomorrow Never Knows (The Beatles)...

  • That would be the Tomorrow Never Knows sample. There was a legal case over it.

  • please elaborate...

  • @MouseGenome It's a remix of Tomorrow Never Knows that is why it sounds so alike.

  • @coop995 It's not actually a remix of Tomorrow Never Knows it was just inspired by it, when this song was released the remaining beatle's lawyers tried to sue them, but the record company proved that it wasn't

  • I need a sexy rave chick that eats acid like it's candy and has an evil twin.

  • Aww you missed me and my twin by about 9 years.

  • The Chem Bros always make a short appearance in their videos, like Alfred Hitchcock did in his movie.

  • like stephen king, stan lee, and quentin tarantino also.

  • didn't know they did that too. Did Stan Lee appear in his comics drawn by Jack Kirby or someone or do you mean the movies ?

  • haven't seen the cartoons, but yeah, he usually cameos his movies.

  • he means the movies dude

  • stephen king and stan lee are my homies :)

  • love this video

  • Comment removed

  • you fell the same when use some kind of acids..

  • does anybody know of a music video with a woman barefoot wearing like a black dress and was sleeping on the sidewalk?

  • I know of a Massive Attack video, where a woman is drunk, laying on a sit, by the sidewalk ...

  • there was a time when the Chemical Brothers and The Crystal Method were like an addiction for me ;p

  • Daaaamn, used to love this song way back when. Had to put it on all the tapes I'd make for whichever girl I was dating at the time.

  • Didn't there used to be a different video to this song?

  • Casi todos los videos de Chemical hablan de malviajes jaja

  • Highly influenced by The Beatles' 'Tomorrow Never Knows' I would say. Nice work.
