Interesting cus i'm cheap but this thing looks like it throws a lot of blue. Can you correct this by adjusting your white balance?

@TheElectricRider It looks like a lot of blue, but it actually looks quite natural on video. I bought one yesterday, and started experimenting. Really good light.

I have some of these . you can convert the 4 aa cell version to just one AA if you install a Joule Thief . and it runs longer that all 4 batterys!

I have the 48 led version of this light. The only problem is that you cant dim the beam. The have a 126 led light panel that you can actually control( dim) on ebay for $49.00. and it comes with diffusers. Search 126 led dv

Yes the dome light is bright but it annoys everyone that is around it. All you end up shooting is people with their hand in front of their face.

@donsherio You can modify this light and cut a larger hole in the middle, take out the batteries and the switch and attach it to a filter or step up ring.

your short video was an inspiration. I went on ebay, and I not only found the light you show here, but another just like it, but with an EXTRA row of LEDs. 3 bucks. bought it, love it. thanks for the cool idea-ultra cheap on ebay right now.

I am thinking of buying a hand held rechargeable torch which promises the light of 1 million candles and is sold in supermarkets for the equivalent of about 18 dollars here in Botswana, Africa. I reckon the light maybe too harsh but maybe i could put some kind of diffuser and use it for outdoor shooting to eliminate shadows on peoples faces.
