Went to the Distant Worlds concert in Baltimore this summer, and this was played there. It's not on the albums and was a great surprise. I haven't really heard this song much before, but this version was amazing. An FYI: Before they played it, Arnie Roth had stated that this is the most popular FF song in Japan.

I'd have loved to have seen him as an Eidolon in XIII. He probably would've transformed into Enkidou, like how Odin transformed into Sleipnir.

@Celdrach Sorry but every Gilgamesh is the same person. He's been traveling through the void trying to find Bartz, and I don't think he would turn mechanical.  A boss maybe would be a bit more awesome, or a party member for the first time.

I haven't played XI, but as I understand, the Gilgamesh there isn't the same one either.

And I always assumed the Gilgamesh from IX isn't the same one either. He's completely unarmed and doesn't seem interested in weapons, and seems more interested in playing cards. Gilgamesh was born in the V universe, and didn't start dimension-hopping until then anyway. The real Gilgamesh, however, probably passed through at some point.

If you find a letter to Gilgamesh in ff9 then you see it is from Enkidu, which is with him in the fight in ff12. The letter says he thought he found Excalibur, which is what he is after most often. And in Dissidia 012 Zidane thought he look familiar but he didn't have 4 arms at the moment. That is why I think it is the actual one, though for 11 I can't say since I have yet to play that.
