I remember seeing a video of Denny live back in the 80s but have never seen it again. I think it was some American gospel TV chat show. Anybody got any ideas? I remember watching the veins standing out on his neck because he was putting so much into it. Absolutely awesome!!
I saw Denny, with his drummer from Blues Image, in Appleton WI in 1983, or so? His drummer said he watched Denny for 20 years before finally giving his heart to the Lord. Was truly a special time in life as a new Christian, and a musical guy myself. "I bought something I Believe in". Great album, wish I still had it! Thank you Lord for guys like Denny!
I remember Denny performing this at the Providence Civic Center in RI circa 1984. Though this a Christian remake of a secular song (Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes, with Teddy Pendergrass) - Denny owned it in my book. What a soulfully honest voice for a white guy. God so blessed and touched us all by Denny's presence and artistry on this Earth. Thank you so much Lord. And as for you, Mr. Denny Correll - "Ride Captain Ride" upon His mystery ship forevermore!
Thanks for posting the Denny Correll songs! We have attempted through the years to find the words to "I want more of You" if you have this song and words, please post. Thanks so much!
Saw him perform a few times and got to meet him because hw would go to my church. Maybe 70 people. Very nice humble person and powerful musician from the Jesus music era.
I had this album as a high school kid...this particular song was one of my favorites. Thank you for posting this -- I just learned tonight (10/5/10) that Denny had passed. His music got me through a tumultuous time of life! Thank you...
Wow! I didn't know Denny has passed on. I just found this today 3/6/10. He was so influential to my early spiritual life as a young christian. Denny, Keith Green, Bob Dylan, Randy Stonehill. I used to listen to all these guys music constantly back in the early eighties. It brought me closer to God. This music like classic rock from the 70's is priceless stuff. I remember seeing Denny in person performing at a church in Warren, MI called the Fisherman's Net back in the early 80's. Good memories!
I used to play in a band with Denny and was heart broken to hear of his passing. His former band mate Kent Henry also passed away this year (may 2009). I've known Kent since we were 16. I know they are in heaven, in the greatest band you could ever imagine !!
I was honored to meet this precious soul at a Mylon Lefevre concert in Atlanta and I have tried unsuccessfully to find his early recordings. Thank you for this video that brings back wonderful memories. I can hardly wait for that great gospel concert in the sky!!
I have an 8-track of the album...it is great! I keep an 8track in my living room just so I can listen to Denny...to bad he passed a few years ago. I can't find his music on record or CD...shame.
Great song from one of the best recordings ever. I'm shocked the world doesn't know every word of every song....This album is an absolute classic. I'd love to have access to the rest of it.
I saw Denny a few times in the late 80's he was such an amazing artist..I was sad to hear passed away....
Does anyone know if he wrote Eternally ( The Wedding Song) or who did?..
I'm looking for the lyrics & can't find them anywhere online..Thanks..

Wow, He died young still. Like probably many of us, when I was little, I used to put a recorder against radio to record his music.

Great song. I remember when I used to play this song on the radio at WGLY 98.3 Miami, Florida.
I used to have a copy of this and other music. Have since mastered all to CD.

Denny was the best man at our wedding. Eric was his guitarist on several albums. We miss him too! Thanks to all of you for the nice comments.
God's blessings to you,
Eric and Carol Turner
