  • For all of those people asking "How do I join MARSOC?", read this. Contact your recruiter and ask him/her. I guarentee they will answer any and all of your questions. I would also like to point out that you don't "join", you are selected through a rigorous training process that weeds out the weak. Also, MARSOC is the command, there are several units inside of MARSOC that differ from eachother. Lastly, experience such as a few years in the Corps and a few deployments will be what they look for.

  • @Jimming854

Doesn't the recruiters lie about more or less everything? xD

    That's what I've heard at least :P

  • @LuciusCorneliusMacro

Just make sure everything is on paper. If they only say it, they might be lying. I am sure you can find many books that are full of legitimate information if you don't trust your recruiter.

  • Is this from OIF or OEF?

  • i love this shit

  • how do i get in marsoc?

  • @bloodynachos Spend at least two years as Infantry or Recon Marine and get to be a NCO. then you can try out.

  • keltec 9mm law enforment pistol waist of the corps money

  • @TheLoudpackage

    was a botch

  • Spam-tag these marine vs army vs navy bullshiiters. Our troops all do a good job at protecting our country.

  • wow, amazing guys here! hey, how does a marine MSOB squad works? I mean, do they work in a 4 piece group, or 12 like an ODA? or are they open squads depending of the mission like SEALs who can have a 4, 6, 8, 12 or 16 guys in a team? Its interesting... theres not much info aroung the net of this guys!

  • marsoc kickin some ass

  • there isn't a force recon anymore is there? didn't they get converted to this or sent recon battalions?

  • @DevinChief no force recon is still around, and still recruits men (my dad was in force recon in the late 80's 90's)

  • @deltaenforcer93 i did a little research and found out that the 1st, and second force recon bn's were deactivated in 2006 and they were and either sent back to recon units or sent to msob. but 3rd and 4th recon bn's are still activated but they are marine reserve force recon bn's.

  • @DevinChief yes true the only reason they are on reserve is becasue they since the fighting in iraq has ceased and now our last Army brigade (whatever little Marines are left in iraq, really don't have a high need for spec ops at this moment) but they will be deployed into action by 2011 or 2012 in Afghan (if the intense fighting continues)

  • @DevinChief Nope, Force Recon is dead brotha! We all got sent to MSOB's

  • @steverileo :( sadface.

  • is this what a 0326 marine would do?

  • How do I join MSOB

  • @codeman127 first, be a Marine. Then be a badass Marine. Then contact a MARSOC recruiter. oh yeah, 2 years time in service and a combat tour help too

  • @niggernoogie Awesome advice and funny you tube name

  • @codeman127 I hate having numbers in my screen names, I got no problem with black people but nigger is a funny word. for real though if you want to get into MARSOC now is the time, they are are making a big push to increase their numbers you just have to want it real bad

  • I am a prior Marine and I've gotta say this. Usually the Marines and the soldiers go at it mainly as a manly wager. 2 boxers or 2 MMA fighters will go at each other like there is no tomorrow, but that doesn't mean that the mutual respect isn't there. If I was in a fighting hole with a soldier, the thought of him not being able to hold his own would never cross my mind. I'm sure that the feeling is mutual. there is nothing wrong with wanting to be the best. It's pure pride.

  • MSOB=Manly Son ova Bitch!

  • @evitts78 Yeah, I'm pretty sure. I joined in 07 and one of the guys I joined with is force recon, I think with 1st. Two of my DI's were also with 1st Recon.

  • Finally, if "you" want to compare a unit in MARSOC To the Seals, then you compare the MSOB units with the Seals. MARSOC is analogous to the Naval Special Warfare Command.

  • proud to serve in the battalion, and with some of the guys in this clip.

  • @is300ramid im going to tryout for recon after SOI can you give me info on what happens during recon school and any tips on to better prepare myself?

    thanks

  • @ evitts: The Marines still have recon teams. They're Force Recon. And MSOB is part of MARSOC, not SOCOM.

  • @GSByers are you sure about that? i know 2nd force recon is disbanded. i could be wrong about the socom cause i got out in 02 so im just going off what i hear through the grape vine. thanks for correcting me

  • @evitts78 Yeah, I'm pretty sure. I joined in 07 and one of the guys I joined with is force recon, I think with 1st. Two of my DI's were also with 1st Recon.

  • @GSByers

incorrect marsoc consits of different msob's(marine special operations batallion) and marsoc falls under US SOCOM

  • isnt this the same as recon?

  • recon was disbanded and now its msob. they are now apart of socom

  • hey can anyone PM me with MSOB info. i wanna know what i have to do to get in. im not a marine. im still in Highschool

  • talk to a recruiter if your really interested.

  • what is the name of the second song

  • oh mr corrupted paedophlic swan gay police man of cpt im your suspect am i do you tell that to your bosses as cover or crimes gay raping paedophlic cooper ,ill ciut your pig chld molestring throart where are you then nigger pig, excuses pathatic police, your all fucked up arent you witchy police man fuck you .pussie dog rapist child sex offending paedophlic gay orgiest sex scum abuserr of crime they all know it was you and your nhs cultist copper everyone

  • to add to frackusmc, i find it very horrifying that an individual would come on a website and act like a Marine. You have not earned that title so dont act like you know and you had sure as hell not act like you have been there. Get your shit straight next time bud.

  • TheN1pfan So your like in MARSOC, I doubt it because MARSOC does not belong to 2nd MARDIV. SO LETS HERE SOME MORE LIES ya POSER

  • the best fucken video on line love the tune love the guns and everything in between

  • First of all... I am a Marsoc Marine 2ND Mardiv...... General Conway said it best

Marines do more and better with less....

I do believe that we all fight the same war, however, multiple times we would enter bases and the army personel had taco bell, Burger kings,,, etc........ So yeah whatever

    KILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • marines have the same shit on our bases. your not a marine or you would know that

  • Hyea Semper Fi!!

  • Hello I play COD4 online with the tactics MSOB the best game servers

  • Why does every video have to become an Army vs. Marines debate?

Chill out people. No matter who is "better", all units in all services are all working to keep your fat, Mario Kart playing, Hallmark Channel watching, Starbucks drinking asses safe.

Be thankful even the "worst" units are willing to go down range for you.

  • @SupriseSexify finally. i thought only idiots and call of duty playing thirteen yr olds commented on youtube.

  • @SupriseSexify finally someone logical im sick of this on going debate to, your so right i respect every one in the military from the easiest desk job to the most elite unit of special forces

  • @SupriseSexify Keep in mind that the people arguing are mostly the ones "going down range," and are proud of their units. Let them argue if they wish.

  • you're a child

  • MARSCO HERE I COME

  • Comment removed

  • The Corps has always had a Special Forces Unit (Force Recon) but they weren't funded by SOCOM until recently because the Navy and it's politics wouldn't recognize these units as "Special Operations" because the Navy was hating. They wanted all the glory to go to their SEAL teams. Marine Force Recon does the same type of work and then some.

  • i say the same thing u say and people call me a moron dickhead asshole and other names

  • I was talking to my dad's friends my dad's a retired Navy SEAL and his two friends are both former marine (Force Recon) they both said there primary mission was not the same as SEALs witch is Direct Action, Gurilla Warfare, COunter terrisom, even though they do those ops it isn't primary. there primary mission was exactly what the name says reconoissance to gather info fro the pirmary marine force. Both of them also said they hated what they turned Force Recon into they hated MARSOC.

  • Wrong, the Navy wasn't "hating" the Marine Corps didn't feel the need to have a unit fall under SOCOM. Get your facts straight you clearly don't know what you are talking about. Where you a SEAL and Recon Marine? I doubt it so stop acting like you know what either one does.

  • ur right army better equiped but Marines are better trained

  • that's true. Pogs aren't that effective in combat otehr than defending themselves.

army has way too much shit to handle. give some logistics and equipment to the marines.

I think Marines upgraded all of their arms because they've got alot more shit than before for sure

  • that would be a SOC. Yes they do theres all kinds of high speed units people dont know about like the MEU. Marine Expeditionary Force. Those guys live on aircraft carriers ready to deploy just about anywhere at a moments notice. Believe it or not the airforce even has a high speed group of guys. The CSAR Combat Search and Rescue. These guys go into all kinds of hot areas and get downed pilots and other people in need of a medivac.

  • MEU (Marine Expeditionary Unit).

I was with 22MEU(SOC) which means "special operations capable". It basically encompasses a small detachment of every MOS in the Corps and distributes them onto 3 ships called an, "Amphibious Ready Group" or ARG. The MEU has battalion recon, force recon, artillery, aircraft, TRAP team (same as CSAR) and every now and then, groupies (the navy girls). Good times! Ready to take lives and save lives at a moments notice!

WTF is a "quiet professional"? Bwahahha!!

  • Are the MEU like the Army Rangers?? ( on the same level ) ?

  • A MEU is a unit, not an MOS.

It's like a battalion on a couple of boats with everything it needs to fight a war.

  • Marines just got a Special Forces command lol still gotta catch up to the Quiet Professionals!

  • they have had one since the sixties

  • fucking a should join the corp

  • Whats the difference between MSOB Marines..and Recon Marines????

  • they are the same just changed names.

  • badass dude, cant wait till i get in there

  • what song is this?

  • You guys don't understand. The Marines ARE their own branch. It is only under the civilian leadership of our military, which besides the Secretary of Defense doesn't mean anything, that the Marines are under the Department of the Navy. Military leadership- Admirals do not command Marines.

  • the marines have their own general

  • The Marine Corps is not a branch of service thats why they fall under DEPT. OF THE NAVY!!!!

  • their still better than all the other services

  • the navy and marine corps are different branches. i thought the same thing until about 3 weeks ago.

  • Same dept. DIFFERENT BRANCH. Dept. and branch aren't the same words there bud.

  • The Marine Corps is not a branch of service!!!!

  • uh... Yea it is.. that's why wherever on the paper it ask me to list what branch of service... I put USMC.

  • sure its oorah i should know my dads inb the marines

  • Marines say Oorah! Army says Hooah. Navy says Hooyah! Air Force drinks cappuccino....

  • Yeah, Hooah and Hooyah is really Oorah while suckin a dick ;)

  • Hmm...seems the Army's new boot camp is pretty cushy and makes the Air Force look hardcore :P

  • That's just for the support, non combat soldiers. Check out Infantry OSUT.

  • How does it work now? Do they send people in non-combat jobs to an entirely different boot camp? If not, it still (in my opinion) is totally inappropriate. Whether or not you are in a non-combat role, you are still a soldier and there still may come a time when proper military training would be beneficial, even lifesaving. I guess my point is that you're still in the military and with today's methods of fighting, being at a desk job doesn't insure your safety...proper training helps.

  • Yes, and it's been like that since the 80's. Support, and office, and types like that, as the women go to Fort Jackson (the one that they always use in recruitment videos since it's the easiest.) Infantrymen go to Fort Benning for 16 weeks of Infantry training. Tankers/Cav Scouts go to Fort Knox for either a tank training OSUT, or a scout training OSUT. Artillery does the same thing I think. The Army is so huge, it has that luxury. They each get training which is focused on their job they chose.

  • Well thanks for the clarification...and make no mistake that I respect all of our armed forces and I'm not one of those people who will tell you "Marines are better!" Every branch of the service has their role and their training for that role...if that weren't the case, there would be no use for multiple branches. Either way, though, it is my believe that any softening of training (in any branches) produces soldiers whom I would be less than thrilled to "trust with my life." Thanks again =)

  • No everyone goes to the same boot camp. Only your MOS effects the schools you goto for obvious reasons. If you go into a combat arms MOS you goto ITB if you are not in a combat arms MOS you goto MCT. ITB is longer than MCT but overall they are the samething. Every Marine is a Rifleman. But the Army is a whole different system with its own clusterfuck. If the USMC is not a branch of service then why doesn't the Navy enlist you? All I saw were EGAs when I enlisted.

  • haha thats pretty good. Kudos.

  • don't foget the mail...please don't forget the mail

  • ya.the mens department.haha

  • MARSOC is like Navy SEALs, SF, CCTs, and Rangers but with the audaciousness and combat prowess that only United States Marines can provide!

  • What are the differences between marines and the army?? They are still under the command of the same government aren't they?? just curious.

  • Army- Aren't Ready for Marines Yet

    that is the difference

  • Marines are part of the NAVY

  • ya the mens department.haha

  • Look it up m8, they are 2 diffrent branches. Marines are "a department of the navy". They get most of their logistical and medical help, hence the corpsmen, from the Navy but operate on their own behalf. In my opinion are faster strong and better than the army will ever be. The bad ass.

  • Agreed, they are. The Marines are trained to do alot with little where as the Army gets fancy equipment that most Marines could only dream of having. Except these boys in the video above have the pleasure of having all the neat stuff.

  • Thank you, yeah that reminds me, I got into an arguement with this kid today that the Marines do get the armys "hand me downs" but even so they find a way to kick 10x more ass than any soldier. Always wanted to be in Recon, but my vision kinda sucks, not too bad yet but I got 1 year till I can enlist, hope I can stay off the computer more often.

  • Same here I have little less than a year. Recon is a hell of a job bro. But as long as you have grades and the ability to learn and can take alot of shit, your there. Glad you plan on joining. Semper Fi.

  • And the navy is under the army isn't it??

  • No not at all.

This is the way it used to be when the Continental Armies were 1st instituted (feel free to correct me).

Army- Seperate Branch; Navy- Sep.; Marines- Dep. of the Navy.(1775) Then somewhere in the meantime the Marines became their own branch, and in WWI the Airforce was part of the Army, but is now it's own branch. The Marines arn't really UNDER the Navy, they don't take any orders from them, but get alot of help, including giving them rides.

  • The Navy is it's own branch.

  • Finally I found the first song is Orion By Metallica. :)

  • MARSOC Recruiting has a brief every friday 1100 building 321 H st. Camp Lejeune.

  • cant wait till im 18 2 years to go any body got tips on what i should to physically and mentally to get prepared

  • Not watch youtube videos. Run your ass off. And understand before going into Basic that the Drill instructors are only doing their jobs.

  • do Sports in school. Wrestlin, Football, Track. xc. get in shape. lifting weights. and most important. Learn your rank struckture if you dont want to get your ass chewed up.

  • nice music, what is this? 1985?

  • when pres bush ordered an attack on syria back a few moths ago, who did he command to get the job done??? THE MARINE SPECIAL FORCES. why not the army or navy seals, yes the seals are very high in combat and yes the army are loud mouths. but why??? because there is nothing in the world more meaner rougher or tougher than a marine mother fuckers!!! Marines are the best. the only 2 branches are the seals and marines, the rest we shit on. the navy wears white 4 fagots but other than that theyre cool

  • @mrolympiae..Even though it's a year old... WTF are you talking about? Pres Bush???? A few MONTHS AGO??

Syria?? R U smokeing crack??? Who's we? SEAL's R a branch? U are fuccin RETARDED!!! Marines don't have Special Forces that's US Army SF u bone head. Also REAL Marines use a capital M u idiot!

Put down the crack pipe & break the call of duty disk cause digital characters is all YOU shit on you wannabe tool.

  • @billyjacc Actually Marines have Special Forces, they are just called MSOC SOFT or Marine Special Operations Command Special Operations Forces Teams, and they are heavy in Afghanistan now working Jointly with Seals and Delta Force. All branches have special forces, they just have their own unique titles, but your enthusiasm is great we appreciate it...

  • @sprout3292 Well son...I've trained with a few high speed low drag units from various branches from the US Military as well as forigen units. The only unit in the US Military titled SF/ Special Forces is the 18 series MOS in the US Army and they wear the "Green Beret".. There are NO USMC forces by that name and I've NEVER heard any of them refere to themselves as that EVER.

So sprout..What's your MOS and are you in a Marine Special Forces Unit.

  • @sprout3292 I, first off, am not a son, I am a woman, & I was an HM2 (FMF) with 2nd FSSG Marine Corps, my husband is currently with a SEAL Team that I prefer to remain unnamed in Afghanistan, working with MSOC-SOFT at this very moment & has been there since last year. I never said they were titled "Special Forces" I said they have special forces with their own unique teams, since you have never heard of that unit, here is the OFFICIAL PAGE marines.mil/unit/marsoc

  • OORAH!!!

  • this is sweet! i hope to have this job someday

  • BAD ASS!

  • They are the best of the best!

I know bunch of people will try to say "No they are not! green beret is the best" or "Delta is the best" blah blah blah...

    NOBODY CAN BEAT MARINES!!!

  • as a team we're the best! that's why we clown the army of one slogan!LOL!

  • the delta force is comprised of the best of all the special forces to the best of my knowledge.

  • im joining the Corps but thats a dumb comment, if no one can beat the Marines, why did the army have to train their special forces? i hate these who's better than who pissing contests.

  • I agree with you, at least some people have working brains.

  • Marines dont have "special forces" dude. they have special operations. and i'm not sure where you heard that the army trains them. what do you mean anyway?

  • The Marines send their marsoc guys to airborne school, ranger school, and possibly pathfinder school, all of which are ran by the army. they also send them to SERE which is ran by the air force.

  • The Marine Corps rolled Recon into Marine Special Operations Command in 2006. My son is in the 1st marine Special Operations Battalion. So, the Marine do have "Special Forces"

  • it's funny how marines pride themselves on being the first ones into combat.

    afganistan/iraq- 3rd Infantry Division (Army)

    WWII- 1st ID

Vietnam- Idk which, but it was an Army ID

    Although Korea was the Marines.

  • you're high as an effing kite if you think that an infantry unit (doesn't matter what branch) was first in the mid east.

  • 1) A majority of Marines are infantry... you don't have to be in a specific branch to be infantry

    2) Army was first in Iraq/Afghanistan

    look it up

  • The majority of the Marines are support for the Infantry. The Infantry Marines are the true "FEW THE PROUD"

  • to be the 1st 1 in u have to have BALLS mother fucker!!! and u dont have that. u disrespect marines mother fucker. ur a nothing. if ur the 1ist 1 in a fight ude be shitting bricks mother fucker. MARINES shit on the army!!! army just "keeps things under control" but when u want something done right u call in the MARINES MOTHER FUCKER!!!!

  • and you're dissing the Army... "mother fucker".

also, it's a FACT that army was the first in.

i'm not saying the army is better than the marines, in my opinion, every branch is equal, and marine's AREN'T above ANYONE! everyone has their job. you'd realize that if you thought about things a little bit.

  • Nicely said.

  • The Army may be the first in but the Marines are the "First To FIGHT" OOORAH

  • Makes no since what so ever. Marines are first ones in. Army essentually picks up there mess after words and keeps things under control. And its not oorah, its "Hurah"

  • proof that army cant do the job so send in the marines to get it done

  • Please, enough with the attitude. For a professional it's beneath you. The USMC has simply, and finally, accepted the invitation to join USSOCOM, which has been offered for many years. And before you you naysay, yes this is coming from someone that's been in the community for a number of years.

Worked with and respect the USMC and supported them many a time with capabilities that the Corps does not have organic. So let's play nice as we're all on the same side.

  • shut the fuck up you dumbfuck. Seriously statements like that are gettig old, and mc poser spec ops doesnt touch army spec ops. And if i had to place my bets on some1 defending this country, it'd be army plain and simple, they are just more specialized. Oh, and infantry is infantry regardless of branch, theres jsut alotta posers in MC who think their all rifleman, xD. Grunts are the back bone of any army/corps.

  • @SpiritofVersaille actually the marine corps are more specialized then the army i would say, a lot more diverse being able to deploy anywhere a lot faster then the army does, and i am in 1st msob and the guys here are some of the hardest working people i have ever met

  • Can an MP Officer try out for MarSOC? Or do I have to be infantry and intelligence officer to get it?

  • Are you actually a officer? Or just thinking about joining.

  • Any Marine is eligible to try out for MarSOC / Marine Recon. Are you an MP Officer in the Corps or a different service branch?

  • ever wonder why the marines were the last ones in special operations command? you do the math...

  • No I don't. There are less marines than any other service, and they origionally refused to join due to not wanting to take away from the "whole force" concept.

  • they didnt initially "NOT JOIN"... they were turned away when the general and commandant of the marines told SOCOM that "ALL" marines are special forces... so then SOCOM said "yeah ok guys, come talk to us when your ready" then the marines figured out that they were missing out on money and missions by trying to be special...

  • It's called MEU SOC. That was their compromise. And it had nothing to do withmoney and missions. That's useless because the money doesn't go to the marines, just to Special Operations command. And missions don't man shit if the SOC area Commander is Army. It was actually Donald Rumsfield that gave the order and pressured them into it.

  • My only problem with MARSOC is that they only want them for 5 years, and then they send them back to the regular corps. Most guys will not like going back to an infantry or even a recon unit after spending 5 years in an MSOB, and they'll either go to selection for one of the SMU's or get out of the military.

  • ACTUALLY SHOTCALLER UR A DOOFUS NOTICE THE 0321 at the end of mine and levs name? THAT IS THE MOS FOR RECON BN S & IT HAS BEEN SINCE THE RECON BNS INCEPTION YOU HAVE TO WORK FOR 0321 mos usually by means 0311 or cbirf or fast teams it isnt something they are working on u tool keep sitting on ur couch playing armchair

commando talking out ur ass on a subject which u clearly have demonstrated u have no knowledge people like u are whatsoever wrong with this country ECHO6DELTA OUT

  • are these marines using full auto M4A1 SOPMOD rifles, or M4 Carbines with burst fire?

  • They M4A1 the full auto version.

    Regards

  • tell me you love me!

  • The shooting ranges and jumps are monitored and if anything video taped is classified then they wouldn't of let the video tape go anywhere. That is why most of spec ops training is never video taped.

  • Terrorists are not our only enemy. I see at least two classified items in this video, not to mention range 130, which is listed as being a classified facility. Not to mention PERSEC issues. This is why MARSOC will fail. Oh and some of those range tactics are a joke. And no this is not an authorized recruitment video.

  • Do you really think there goin to fail m8?

  • :|. You must be kidding. MARSOC is going to fail thanks to a four minute and thirty eight second video? Wow. It showed Range 130. Al Qaeda will be there any day now blowing it up. For the love of god why! *Sarcasm*

  • No it won't fail due to a video on YouTube. It will fail due to a lack of a true Marine driven purpose. It will fail for a lack of direction. It will fail if it only serves SOCOM an ignores the needs of the Corps at the MEF, DIV level. It will fail due to having people in charge who know next to nothing about discretionary warfare in non-permissive environments. Letting people in who don't have their heart an soul in it. I am saying it is going to fail, I am saying it could.

  • Lavbo, you seem like an intelligent and knowledgeable person on the subject while I'm just a poolee. Could we possibly discuss this through the message system? I added you as a friend.

  • zbojnik, don' listen to him. The true driven purpose is the same as any other spec ops unit. It does support the regular Corps becaause duty with MarSOC is a 2 to 3 year combat tour before you go back to the regular fleet. So the marines don't lose their best. They just give them that much more expirence. Also, MarSOC is deemed Seperable but not Seperate which means when they are needed for spec ops they will be taken but if not in use, the are controlled by the needs of the Corps. Any others?

  • I thought that was true back in the days of Force Recon, but not much today. I had heard that many can and will stay in MARSOC for the rest of their careers like their army and navy counterparts. However, I'm just a former army grunt so my knowledge on this subject is limited.

  • Actually the Marine Corps is currently working on making MARSOC an MOS. Earlier this year they passed a MARADMIN stating that any Marine can goto RSAS, however many will fail to get selected at after the three weeks of hell at screening.

  • You got the link to that MARADMIN? I was bullshitting with the CRS the other day and saw their new request of grunts, grunts and battery powered grunts. I think it'd be funny to see an air winger go for the indoc!

  • Negative, do not have that MARADMIN. However my friend is assigned to 2nd MSOB. And he was an 1812 (Tanker) I will try and look up that MARADMIN now.

  • dude if you get it lemme know im scheduled for A&S in April but id like the maradmin for my buddy btw im an MOS 2111 so yes now any marine can go

  • are you serious? how soon will that be available?

  • OPSEC gents. I love how the SRTs names are posted for the world to see. Just stay tier 2 or 3. Im Sure the General is pleased.
