Why the negative votes? "Foreigners" have lived in what is now Germany for centuries. That isn't the problem. The problem is when guests or new citizens don't respect the host country's culture and ways, and try to set up parallel cultures beside the native one. This anthem, Gott erhalte Franz den Kaiser, was written 44 years before the alternate lyrics "Deutschland über alles", and 90 years before Hitler was born.

The music was not intended for Nazis let alone lame would-be followers 44 years after Germany was liberated from the Nazis. There are very understandable reasons why the first two verses sung in this video have never been part of the anthem of modern democratic Germany. Germans are welcome now nearly everywhere. Nazis are not.

Actually, the Red Army raped Yugoslav, Romanian, Bulgarian, Austrian, German, Finnish, ANY women they could find. Germans actually treated their (non-jew) occupied people with some degree of respect!
