  • POD X3 multi-effects the supposedly characterized by good distortion, but there are no files where they can get decent distortion, since most of tones to play with the loud sound very weak or does not distinguish the notes.

I who can not get a good tone for Metal or is podx3. if so please could make me retract

  • I have a question? POD X3 LIVE, OR POD HD 500??

  • @RijadHabibovic Well, depends on WHAT you play.

I'm a metal guy, and currently use a PODx3Live, and love it. I had an HD500 for about 1 week and took it back. I use dual tones for everything, and the DSP limitations on the HD500 crushed my soul. You get 2 amps/cabs, gate and verb (if you're lucky) before the DSP craps on you. The amps/tones are amazing, but the limitations kill you.

If you're fine with single amp tones (which are great), then the 500 is your best bet. Dual = X3

  • Is there a vid of the pedalboard going directly to PA? I'm afraid it could sound crappy.

  • @TheBelva85 We don't have a video like this yet but we will definitely consider it for the future. The POD X3 Live sounds great directly into a PA. Use the XLR outputs and set your output modes to Studio Direct and you are on your way.

  • I don't know how to create a clean sound from an empty bank. I got the x3 live yeasterday and i'm kinda lost with that. Distorted sounds are easy but i can't make it sound clean at all. Is there something i'm missing?? thanks man!

  • @Lugaid Hi. We have a bunch of people over at the Line 6 Forums that might have some advice for you. Just visit the line6 website and click on Community in the top nav. Thanks.

  • @variaxguitar It really depends on the amp. Some amps have top handles and you can purchase a "POD Mount" from our online store. This mount props the bean up and has a bottom plate that you can slide under the amps handle. If your amp doesn't have a top handle then you may need to get creative and build some sort of stand and maybe even screw it directly into your cab.

  • can u please tell me doese pod x3 has tuner

  • @karachi90 Yes, it does.

  • hi, Would you please tell me which cab u used in this clean dual tone? this is really a great clean tone!! thanks so much!

  • @erickk716 Kevin said "The cabs were the stock cabs associated with the amp models. Not sure of the names, they're the Twin and AC30 cabs"

  • Line6movies replied to my all questions about X3L and helped me to give a decision quickly about processors. I use this tool with my Technics Sa-Ax 710 AVR Stereo and Jamo BX200A cabs. And you know what ; Modelling ability of X3 Totally ROCKS. It's a great tool. Especially the Dual Tone specification is just a REVOLUTION... It's a great for those who doesn't want to use it with guitar amplifier. It works great with hifi systems, headphones, reference monitors. Line 6 = Success. Thanks.

  • what is the difference between line6 pod x3 and line6 pod x3 live?*

  • @joachimekstrom on specs they are the same (except the live has a wah pedal and buttons you can step on them while playing live.) Pod X3 is the studio version of this :)

  • @FraggiesL1t5a For a dual tone do you need two physical amps?

  • No, you can blend two tones together with one amp.

  • @MrJackanthony No. Dual tones will work with just one amp although having a stereo setup will offer more tone possibilities. Especially in regards to stereo effects.

  • @line6movies Thank you

  • pod x3 live is Pedalboard

  • x3 live is the floor model

  • X3 is a table top unit and the x3 live is a floor unit with more ins and outs.

  • @joachimekstrom X3 is better and newer...no reason to get the old podxt live , it is only $100 difference ...you get twice the amp mod in the new x3

  • nice full/ rich sound

  • how to make 2 sound at the same time .. i mean tone 1 and tone 2 sound together

  • Turn tone 2 on and then go into the output settings and PAN each tone accordingly.

  • Kev, how do I get the killer "stereo" sound( I enjoy by hard panning while recording)-in a live situation where they are probably running mono P.A.?

  • Kevin answered: you can enjoy all the stereo guitar you want if you use 2 amps and 2 cabs, but nobody in the house will hear it.

  • what guitar model is he using with the variax?

  • Kevin answered: "it's the rock a billy, prob on the mid position on the variax, def the mid position on the model.

vairax update: wired the x3 into the interface and created a DI patch for the guitars and bass using the ethernet cable. works great. also lets me do a stereo in and use the m13 in the loop. very excellent. the only drag is having to rely on batteries for the gut, but small price to pay for the convinience"

  • i'm not sure i understand this DI patch. how do you create it? also, can't you put the m13 in the loop using the x3l effects loop? sorry to be so thick.

  • Kevin answered: as for the patch, it's pretty self explanatory. can't add much to that. and yes, you can put the m13 in the FX loop of the X3. for stereo out and return, you'll need a stereo to dual mono plug for the send.

  • In this video he has two distinct sounds panned hard left, hard right. While that's fine for this demo, in practice, you might want to blend them a bit more. Of course this be determined by the needs -- a live gig or recording. (good tips, but the music in the bumpers between the set-ups distracts from the sounds being demonstrated).

  • I'm sorry for my bad english. I have a doubt concerning tone 2. When I use tone 2 it am the same for all presets or I can use one tone 2 for each preset? Exists some different skill to use tone 2 for each preset? how can i do this?

  • You can use a different tone 2 for each preset. You are not limited in this manner.

  • you can use 2 amps at once with different effects chains on each.

  • They just mixed two amp models and went through one amp

  • They went through both amps.

  • wait so you can play two amps at once???

or is this just with the pod effect or something?

  • You absolutely use two amps at once. Just send one output from the POD to one amp and the other output to the other amp.

  • @nikiHXM u can buy various pedals and things that let you use 2 amps at once, but i think what there talking about here is when a band records a CD if u like the tone its normally 2 different sounds doubled the record with one sound then go back and record again with a different one, check out radial pedals they have loads of things like running 2 heads in the same cab or running 1 guitar in to 1 heads
