so what if every song they write isnt a million miles per hour....they experiment with music because their ears change...just like everyone's does....they made it very clear early on in their career that they werent gonna write the same songs (fade to black) they did not nor every will limit themselves...only people like you try to limit them

Dude, you assume way too much and like to put words in my mouth. I don't care if a song is fast or not, or if a band wants to make different music than thrash metal. I have a problem with Metallica not changing its name to coincide with every release since the black album. I can think of many other musicians who did exactly that when they got tired of playing the same type of music and made a new band. Metallica is the only band I know to dupe their fans and not give a shit.

You don't understand that bands do need a good relationship with the fans for success and to continue WORKING as musicians. They made so much money off the black album that they could afford to not give a shit anymore. Do I really have to explain why a band should change its name when they choose to play COMPLETELY different music? It shows, oh I don't know, RESPECT for the fans who PAID MONEY with expectations to hear a thrash metal record not alternative rock. Your just a selfish as they are.
