As a pianist who pours hours into arranging songs, I appreciate the amount of work that I know went into this. The quality of the video is very bad, however. With all due respect, to me this just sounds like two pianos that have no synchronicity at all. Yes you can "mix" jazz with any genre of music, but that doesn't mean it sounds good.

I think the additions make it sound really awesome on piano (without them it'd probably just be bland and blah without the rock instruments to back it up like how its normally done). And for the record, its also a cover, and when people do covers, shit tends to change. So with that, I think its amazingly creative and well played, great job!

Well, I think to fix that you just should have worked at maintaining the right volume control, for each person in the right section. Hows it out of tune the only thing I could hear out of tune was the dissonance they put in intentionally ....... The should of placed the mic in a better place because they are getting bleed through on the reverb but that's just bad recording .

@renatabandrade You can put jazz into anything. That is what jazz is. You are so uneducated to the art of recreation. It is not suppose to sound like ENTER SANDMAN. Anyone can recreate or replicate. The point is that the material is richer than that and can bring out something else completely. The great classical piano composer Franz Lizst did it all the time with Verdi Operas and the like. If Lizst could mess with Verdi, I can mess with Metallica.

all you people ignorantly criticizing annoy me. the big "mess" quite a work of art and adds to the feel of the cover. the overuse of the sustain piano around 3:00 is an example. i like this alot :}

This is a gorgeous rendition of Sandman. I am a huge Metallica fan and I generally hate jazz. But this is so well done. Played with such passion and originality. And that is the very essence of Metallica--passion and originality. For all you people on here who are leaving negative comments--James and Lars would be the first people to give this a big thumbs up if they heard it. Get a clue

@renatabandrade You can put jazz into anything. That is what jazz is. You are so uneducated to the art of recreation. It is not suppose to sound like ENTER SANDMAN. Anyone can recreate or replicate. The point is that the material is richer than that and can bring out something else completely. The great classical piano composer Franz Lizst did it all the time with Verdi Operas and the like. If Lizst could mess with Verdi, I can mess with Metallica.

@Vdimura The jazz is my favourite style, but I think, If you re-do a song, it have to sound much better than the original (not considering the singing). But it's much much worse than the original. Moreover sometimes unlistenable mistakes.... crap

hm, funny ...it must be you, or your interpretation,the way you play....because there are so many Metallica -piano-covers out here and everybody likes them,of course most sound great, except yours, you're the only one even 50%voted against and all these unnice comments, not used to it, so it must be you, i understand what you were after, and it sounds really selfcreated-jazzy and people don't like this so often and just hear noise instead

Listen I am tired of the comments that are uninformed. I'm not trying to reproduce the song. I'm a jazz musician. I create something new from what is given. If you understood, you would hear Stravinsky and Bartok and modern 20th century composers. Metallica is a kind of post modern classical music. That is what I was after. I love this shit but it ain't Beethoven so grow up.

@Fallen2898 You can put jazz into anything. That is the point. That is the re-creative tradition.Franz Lizst did this with Verdi's operas and the like. If Lizst could do it to Verdi, I can do it to Metallica and please, don't tell me what I can't and can recreate. You don't like it, don't listen. And just for your uneducated information, a very serious and gifted piano duet in Poland heard this rendition and is commissioning me to write the thing down so they can perform it on tour.

This is quite better than Metallica's version. Metallica's version has only that thrash metal stuff. This one has everything, Thrash, jazz, blues. You need to be more open minded. You can't put limits to music, you need to experiment. If you want to criticize you must, first, listen to a LOT of music, and I don't mean only METAL stuff. You need to listen to many different kinds of music.

@Vdimura Just stumbled up this. I have to say that the comments are probably mostly your fault. You labeled the piece a 'cover'. You may have been better off saying "Jazz Variations on a Theme of Enter Sandman" or something like that. Instead you are spending energy describing what you mean by 'cover' in a jazz context and it's lost on those that don't normally listen to jazz.
Having said that, I like it. Job well done.
