1:03 "You're life means not a fuckin jot to me". A view shared by many who watch your antics! You're not improving attitudes towards cyclists, exactly the opposite in fact. Get a life, and try riding 3 feet from the kerb and not in the middle of the carriageway.
@maidstoneonbike I have read the highway code and yes it does say you can ride two abreast when safe to do so, but it also states that you need to be as far over to the kerb as possible not in the centre of the lane, so he is in the wrong there.
@savanwolfrandal09 But it also says you are allowed to overtake, which is what @Magnatom is doing. And as long as you are on the correct side of the road you are allowed to ride in primary.
Your making a mountain out of a molehill biker, he was nowhere near you, also to be honest i have no care for a stranger's life at all as it does not affect mine to answer your video description.
That distance between you and that car was probably the same ratio as how far the Earth is from Mars. Yeah, goes to show how fucked up cyclists are with a video camera thinking how high and mighty you little pricks are just because you are the 'environmental-friendly' person of the world.
Looks like you where to much to the right rather then he to much to the left. But we know you by now. Always looking for trouble.. One day you WILL meet the wrong guy.. Lets hope you get away from that without permanent dammage...
LOL you guys are all hilarious, we dont even have cycling lanes in my town we either ride on the sidewalk or on the edge of the road. people are real dicks sometimes
Cyclists that ride in the middle of a lane going 15mph piss me off. Even if you are overtaking, you don't stay in the middle of the lane for a half mile, you do it quickly, and you don't do it when there are cars about.
With regard to your overtake on the cyclist, why not put yourself right out in the lane to give him/her room...? That would have meant the Red Honda had to do a proper overtake in the other lane instead of being able to squeeze past you in your lane...and to be honest I didn't think he was that close anyway...I think you're a bit over sensitive....
I've seen quite a few of your video's now...and I've come to the conclusion you court trouble....I'm not saying you go looking for it, but you do like to stir people up. I'm a cyclist too, and I occasionally get problems with traffic, but I choose not to antagonise people who are clearly already upset or too stupid to be out on the road to start with. Move on...
Again, the car driver is in a big hurry to get nowhere, except to that next red light, and screw anyone in his way. Btw, he also needs a new hair dew; he looks the an aged Dutch Boy, on the paint cans. :-)
After posting so many vanity videos of yourself, it must have been a real letdown to learn someone doesn't give "one jot" about you or your life. Hate to break it to you, but most here (on this website) and on the road don't give "one jot" about you. Most of the incidents in your videos are petty or absurd, and your views don't change that. As for yourself, I'm personally looking forward to the video of you as the hood ornament of a speeding car or lorry (truck).
No, he isn't a nice bloke ;-). When a cyclist takes the time to complain, the least he can do is take the complaint in consideration.
When I spot a significant difference in speed between 2 bikes, I expect them to overtake without looking. (In town Dutch motorists are often allowed to park on those dotted cycle lanes; I cannot expect cyclists to full stop every time.)
I find it very easy to predict their actions, let alone if someone is already overtaking!
You were NOT 2 abreast, thats a lie. The car overtook you when you were a good 25 feet behind the cyclist... You were certainly in the middle of the road however.
If the driver, and anyone else here still thinks that, they they were / are clearly not aware of the road ahead.
That said, neither of you use the cycle path, so while the driver is a knob, I feel that you were at fault here.
i know it was a bad overtake but I cannot stand the whole "holier than thou" stance where you have to hold up traffic to actually tell someone off....
if you're riding in the middle of the road what do you expect? to be safe? LOL it's not safe even if you're driving a car staying in the middle of the road.........
you bike riders just have to go on your FUCKING SIDE
its hard to dispute videos when the drivers admit they dont care if they kill you or not. Best part though is that guy is gonna live on you tube showing how he doesnt giv e a fuck if he kills you. Hopefully add another 10 years when he does kill someone.
tbf you were in the middle of your lane long before you went past the other cyclist. you also leave a huge width to the cyclist who clearly isn't unstable or about to have to take avoiding action for anything. a little patience especially with the lights being red would go down a treat.
Why was it so important to overtake the cyclist when there was a light 50m ahead? You moan about cars doing the same, but yet when you do it it makes it OK? Stay behind, then filter to your lane at the red light.
You seriously need to think about how you ride. Mutual respect and all that, but you seem to hold yourself in high regard compared to other road users.
@mattenigmaevolution: If you're cousin is a cycling instructor and finds fault with anything in that clip of Magnatom's riding, they should resign immediately. The car driver was clearly in the wrong, and should not be on the road. Why on earth did the driver pass so close, when he had the entire right-hand lane of the DUAL CARRIAGEWAY to overtake both cyclists safely?
You are a bonehead with a bad attitude buddy. Not to mention a whinger and a cry baby. You were in the middle of the bloody road mate and the car was nowhere near you. What, exactly, might the relevance of two abreast be, considering that an overtake should be entirely in the left (right for Brits and the like) lane?
More proof that when you're in the wrong, all of the arguments that support your position amount to a crock of shite.
That civic guy is such a character. One of those genuine Glasgow salt of the earth hard smoking and drinking types. Love it. Decent quality footage. I wonder what camera you have. 2 abreast? Don't make me laugh wig man. Cyclists can overtake. You are definition of cretin. You passed close because you took offence to the cyclist, and you decided to deliberatly put the cyclists life in danger, then stopped at the red light for 20 seconds. WHY? If you didnt look like such a tw@t I would'nt be this angry.
Again you're in the middle of the road and overtaking a slower cyclist ,which you shouldn't do. And he is right about cycling two abreast which you shouldn't! Sat here with my cousin who is a cycling instructor and he says in a lot of your videos you are in the wrong!
Does your 'cycle instructor' friend agree that I shouldn't overtake slower cyclists and that I was riding two abreast? If so I expect he doesn't get much business! LOL!
@magnatom Hey magnatom, buy a helmet mirror; once you get used to them they're brilliant!
When it comes to riding bicycles and motor bikes you have to treat every road user as a drunkard. It takes only one idiot in a car to easilly kill you, and no matter who's right, it won't bring you back! Stay safe

Ridiculous, what a lazy ass. He could've easily moved fully into the other lane to overtake. Regardless of one abreast or two abreast which has nothing to do with anything.
what a piece of crap that guy is. i can kinda understand if its heavy traffic or whatever. people do that crap to cars too but when its wide open in the other lane what point does it prove to do that
David..... Magnatom.... you did not have to pen your mouth to that driver.... he may well have just sat there and never said a word to you...
once again you went looking for trouble.... clearly the car behind you which you where holding up didnt like what he seen as he hit his horn... you wouldnt have been sitting agruing at a green light would you...??? didnt think so Dr Do little... I got a PhD...
@magnatom thing is though, one day and i mean one day some one will get out and hurt you. From watching some video's you seem to look for it. My advice will be just watch who you approach, I am not having a moan just some tips
0:27 - See the position that other cyclist is located? That's where you should cycle 99% of the time, not in the middle of the road. If you wanted to overtake him/her, you should of waited for a suitable gap in the traffic. That's how I ride anyway.
That's not a very sensible method. Bikes are considered on the same terms as cars in the code here where I live. We have the right to overtake (and what about passing parked cars?), and cars have the responsibility to only overtake if there is enough space. As long as there's an empty lane, the car can always overtake by pulling in that empty lane, which this driver just ignored. He was doing this on purpose when there was no justification for it. And his comment explains it well.
why not just wait until there are no cars behind you before you start immitating superman on a bike. Of course people are going to overtake closer if there are 2 bikes blocking the road.
He is a cancer, and lukemia causing car bound piece of crap, and yes, if he came in as a patient, you should say, your life does not mean anything to me. Fucking car drivers give me the shits, they create 60% of the pollution in a city and then attempt to suggest that cyclists dont belong on the road. The crap that comes out of the back of cars causes thousands of people to die each year from cancer, and disease.
He really is a carbunkle on the backside of humanity.
Had one similar yesterday. Fiancee was behind me, approaching red light to turn right. I checked right shoulder - clear - moved to the right. Next thing I know she shouts my name, I look to my right and there is a car overtaking me 10ft before the red light. He realised he couldnt stop on the wrong side of the road for the red so instead moved sharply left and into me. Luckily I knew he was there and was able to slow and move left. He then said he was trying to kill me. Police came but did nowt.
magnatom, with an attitude like that, he should not be allowed in public. He certainly doesn't have a useful ability to think, nor to be considerate of others. One vote for retroactive abortion, or pre-emptive euthanasia.
What would you do if this guy was brought in after a serious accident, I would love to stand over him and say "Do you think I care a jot about your life pal"
With driving and an attitude like that, wont be long till this guy does it to the wrong person, dragged out his car and have the shit beat out of him.
You should take this one to the police, as the driver has admitted on camera that they drove at you with willing disregard for your safety (irrespective of how close the actual overtake was).
Probably you could make an allegation of assault (threatening behaviour) rather than a RTA offence which they'd have to follow up on. If people are dumb enough to make threats on camera, they should expect a follow-up.
That's the attitude almost all car drivers have. IT gets worse the bigger the vehicle is. They don't care about anyone or anything as long as they can pass everything else and be there first. Pedestrians, cyclists other cars none of that matters as long as they get to where ever it is they are going as fast as possible and in front of everything else. Why else would they act they way they do. With such cold and irrational disregard for anyone else but themselves and their own greedy ends?
Seriously though - that man was a p****. Totally deluded c*** if he thinks the car is going to protect him from prosecution, or upsetting the wrong person.
What's funny is, like you say, the overtake maybe wasn't the closest in the world, just a bit daft. But the response to being told he'd done something wrong was utterly uncalled for, and caring 'not a jot' for your life really sums up the attitude that is prevalent in so many people.
On a two-lane road, vehicles should always move to the outside lane when overtaking cyclists in accordance with the highway code - "Allow cycles the same space as you would a car"
@alex871uk : He did. And magnatom kept the safe distance from the wall-seat, and the driver of the red car sould keep the safe distance from magnatom. The driver should change the lane.
I'm not so sure. Can't see or hear the car until it is about to overtake.
It had a whole second lane to do so.
I drive and cycle and I would (going on what we can go off in the video) have overtaken there.
If in the car I'd have used the next lane to leave plenty of space for the cyclists.
As tom said "not the worst overtake" - I'd have responded with a shake of the head, but there was no reason to be so close, or for any of them to wait to overtake.
@thirteenfingers Hard to tell from the vid who began their overtake first, but its very optimistic to hope an driver will considerately synchronize their overtake with yours.
are you retarded????? you have no idea how to ride!! if i see you il fucking aim for you!! then your have something to put on youtube!!!!!

@PemboCycling So the police where you are believe that a confession before a witness of attempted murder is not actionable?
Definitely one for a formal complaint.

I've scraped higher forms of life off my boots.
Doesn't that attitude meet all the diagnostic requirements for "psychopathy"?
Camsplint 1 year ago
magnatom, with an attitude like that, he should not be allowed in public. He certainly doesn't have a useful ability to think, nor to be considerate of others. One vote for retroactive abortion, or pre-emptive euthanasia.

What would you do if this guy was brought in after a serious accident, I would love to stand over him and say "Do you think I care a jot about your life pal"

He needs to hand in his licence as he clearly has no consideration for anyone. And what is it with that wig!
gadgetmind 1 year ago
With driving and an attitude like that, wont be long till this guy does it to the wrong person, dragged out his car and have the shit beat out of him.
milewide 1 year ago 2
Grr. what an arse. it clearly wasn't two-abreast and even if it was, cycling two-abreast is fine under the highway code
StupidlyRandom 1 year ago 3
You should take this one to the police, as the driver has admitted on camera that they drove at you with willing disregard for your safety (irrespective of how close the actual overtake was).
Probably you could make an allegation of assault (threatening behaviour) rather than a RTA offence which they'd have to follow up on. If people are dumb enough to make threats on camera, they should expect a follow-up.

i think you should carry a tazer, when some one gives u greif simply give it a zap and watch them shit a brick
lukeeboy149 1 year ago
That's the attitude almost all car drivers have. IT gets worse the bigger the vehicle is. They don't care about anyone or anything as long as they can pass everything else and be there first. Pedestrians, cyclists other cars none of that matters as long as they get to where ever it is they are going as fast as possible and in front of everything else. Why else would they act they way they do. With such cold and irrational disregard for anyone else but themselves and their own greedy ends?

Seriously though - that man was a p****. Totally deluded c*** if he thinks the car is going to protect him from prosecution, or upsetting the wrong person.

You were over a car length behind the other cyclist when he passed, so his "2 abreast" comment was bollocks anyway.
mrcellophane99 1 year ago 2
What's funny is, like you say, the overtake maybe wasn't the closest in the world, just a bit daft. But the response to being told he'd done something wrong was utterly uncalled for, and caring 'not a jot' for your life really sums up the attitude that is prevalent in so many people.

On a two-lane road, vehicles should always move to the outside lane when overtaking cyclists in accordance with the highway code - "Allow cycles the same space as you would a car"
seanusmcprawnus 1 year ago 2
He looks like a laaaaaady, dontcha know.
What a tosser though, no understanding of the law and no idea how to drive. Should be taken off the road permanently.

Did you check behind before overtaking that cyclist?
alex871uk 1 year ago
@alex871uk : He did. And magnatom kept the safe distance from the wall-seat, and the driver of the red car sould keep the safe distance from magnatom. The driver should change the lane.
atomboy83 1 year ago 2
@alex871uk
Yes at 23 and 29 seconds.
magnatom 1 year ago 2
@alex871uk You didn't see the camera angle change as he turned his head?
thirteenfingers 1 year ago
@thirteenfingers Indeed, it seems the car was coming up fast when he looked back. Seems like a dangerous time to try overtaking the other cyclist.
alex871uk 1 year ago
I'm not so sure. Can't see or hear the car until it is about to overtake.
It had a whole second lane to do so.
I drive and cycle and I would (going on what we can go off in the video) have overtaken there.
If in the car I'd have used the next lane to leave plenty of space for the cyclists.
As tom said "not the worst overtake" - I'd have responded with a shake of the head, but there was no reason to be so close, or for any of them to wait to overtake.
thirteenfingers 1 year ago
@thirteenfingers Hard to tell from the vid who began their overtake first, but its very optimistic to hope an driver will considerately synchronize their overtake with yours.
alex871uk 1 year ago
Boy that was close!!! He said that you were cycling 2 abreast? He needs to get his eyes checked!

WTF - Being filmed openly admitting that he doesn't care about the lives of other road users should merit having his licence taken away immediately.
