Hi Anita - thank you so much for your videos. I'm trying to learn to be more 'free' with my watercolor, instead of sticking so closely to lines and details. This is really going to help! Can I ask, do you use tubes or a palette of watercolor? And what kind of paper? I think the stuff I have isn't great quality! Thank you so much :)
Hello pepper, thank you for your interest. I use tubes because they are creamy even after drying, and the paper i use is a 300 gr. water colour paper.
Ms. Jansen or Anita (9which ever you prefer) (sorry for the typos) I know only of your skill; you know nothing of me, but you have been very generous with your thoughts and qualifications, continued success to you .
Ms Jansen you said that watercolor has to go fast "sans" pauses . to take advantage of the "wet". I respect your approach but this is the first ,that I have heard of speed and wet being important to the work. If it works for you. so be it. your work does speak for itself.
When i paint wet on wet.....the paper must still be moist at the end of the painting. That is why i paint fast. Paper dries fast..............Those trees have been painted on dry paper, but when i paint for an exhibition, i use only the wet method.
I only disagree with one point. you are sharing your skills with an appreciative audience, speed is not a teaching skill. I respect that for this media time is luxury but so is skill ;you seem to be slower in part one. but you share as you choose to share. It is still quality.
ms. Jansen to say your work is impressive is an understatement. my only issue is I canttell whether the "speed" work is you or the camera. you have submitted several videos ;all impressive thank you for sharing them.
The speed of this video is almost the normal speed. For some others the speed is adapted to the music. Anyway watercolor painting has to go fast without any pauses to keep the paper wet until the final touch.
why is rate bar is off & comments have to be apporved ?
