He might have not gotten up fast but denny knew arguing wont help him he was more of Crushed in defeat obviously he was ok he was defending well from the half guard and his head was not on the mat and he dominated him the first round idk why if this is pro its 2:00 rounds his life got saved but cant complain u have to keep them hands up
you know.. usually you KNOW it was stopped too early when the losing fighter gets up and objects the stoppage. Denny was on the ground for 2 full min after the fight was stopped. Yes, it looked like the ref made a mistake but judging by Denny's reaction(or lack, thereof) you can say the stoppage was justified.
Wow...Way to go Cesar...you told me you were going to start fighting MMA, but I never thought you would get so good...awesome dude...This is Billy ...come by sometime and hang out.
im no 10th planet fanboy, but eddie bravo's grappling style/philosophy really showed that it is very well suited for mma in this video (especially on that back take). the no-gi game is very different from the gi game; everything has to be much tighter, and much quicker. im excited to see more 10th planet specialists transfer to mma. add some striking, i think they will do very well.
@luchador1764 i didn't see anything specific to bravo's style, just good fundamental jiu-jitsu. prokopos had tight top control and was able to smoothly transition to the back when his opponent rolled away from him. same with the armbar transition. nothing specifically 10th planet about any of that.
@TheArcuda - I'm not arguing that. You're right, its clear that Cesar couldn't compete with Prokopos on the ground, but Prokopos couldn't finish him when he had the chance. In MMA today, it's not enough to be an expert grappler/submision guy, you need to be well rounded. Ask Marcelo Garcia.
Great example of what happens when you are a one dimensional fighter. It's clear that Prokopos had no clue in the stand up. He should stick to no-gi tournaments with no striking. He'll get mashed by any decent mma fighter.
@Rich0008 Agreed! Just because a person can dominate on the ground does not mean that they'll dominate in a stand up match/or vice versa.Another example if this was Cesar Gracie vs.Frank Shamrock.
@iRandyyyyy I'd agree with you if that was in a professional fight, where the fighters are insured, where fighters get paid, and where we go through all kind of medical exams before a fight, but since it was an amateur fight, we have to consider all of those details. As for being an early stoppage, I don't really think it was considering the fact that denny was rocked, and Cesar was still punching without receiving any answers from Denny.
Look at that denny got fucked up again, he can't win in bjj he can't win in mma.

Better stick to the rubber guard.I remember Denny back when he was a little teenager at Charles Gracie's Academy.

Really good fight. Wish Denny had won, and if the rounds were longer I've no doubt he would have, but good strategy by Campos in the second.
