Apparently that is so hard to do... Alot of the best pilots fail there Harrier training. Pilot coordonation as to be second to none ! Alot of tweaking and nudgeing on the thrust i believe to keep it balanced . Hats off !

This is the only privately owned Harrier. I saw him perform at an air-show last summer. Awesome plane, but the F35 will far more than fill the shoes that the Harrier fills. (That is if anyone buys the V/STOL variant.)

I just learned of this civilian owned harrier today, so i did some research.

Turns out this guy is a retired Marine Lt. Col. who used to fly AV-8B's. He's rich now, and bought/refurbished/certified a British Harrier.

I found a full video of his performance in Virginia this past weekend. AWESOME! Consider the fact that this was only the third time he'd flown a Harrier in the past 16 years.

I'll bet he loved showing off for his wife. He wasn't lying about those "war stories", was he?
