@supercowboy23 whats the best place to go offroading around San Bernandino. Preferably close to Big Bear? Is this good or I heard that heartbreak Ridge is really good. which trail should i take because i only recently started offroading but I have a 1987 Isuzu trooper 2 4 cylinders with great offroad tires but i just dont know where to go
its off of forrest road 3N03 between highway 18 and cactus road intersection. its a black diamond trail and trailhead is marked as a dead end. its awesome!!
supacowboy23 - but if you can do it without the 4x4 and you had backup, more power to ya. we haven't been on this trail just yet but it was recommended by my bro-n-law. we just had to check it out to be sure it was something of interest for us. any suggestions of great trails in the area , preferable with creeks and or waterfall destinations?
@cordova2005 hey well the big bear area has many awesome trails all rated from easy to difficult. this one is rated difficult( u will see y if u ride it) and if u look in the far background u will see a small road. this leads to a creek(nice hike). the best time in big bear is in spring when snow is melting, creeks and waterfalls are plentiful!! theres 1000's of miles of trails!! if u want some cordinates lemme know!!
@cordova2005 hey go to my page where i have a few vids of a couple different places to offroad in so cal. most are in big bear but there are a few other interesting places, i would be glad to share in youtube.com/user/supacowboy23
supacowboy23 - i noticed that your rear tires where slipping as you were trying to get through. we recently moved out of the eastern sierra's and roamed around in the middle of nowhere on roads and questionable roads less traveled. we drive a 4x4 2005 jeep wrangler limited. pretty nice to travel around and over boulders even on nearly straight declines. while trying to find great adventurous trails in this area we stumbled upon your vid and thought how brave that was to travel without a 4x4...
@cordova2005 ohhh no!! theres no way i can run this trail on 2wd!! this is a 4x4! yes u did see the rear wheels slip and if u look closely my fronts are slipping too!! its real hard to see the incline on this trail but being so steep and my truck so heavy, its a pretty hairy!! haha . if it wasnt for the limited slip i would never have got outa here!!
easy for who or what? i agree if your driving a rock crawler or light four wheeler better suited for this trail, then yes its way easier. in addition to mandatory 4x4 its very highly recommended to have at minimum limited slip. we had a regular 4x4 in the fleet and it was a chore to get the thing back up the mountain.

he'd get alot better traction if he would deflate the tires down a bit, with that heavy truck i would go to 20psi, traction would improve a whole lot

they need 4x4 vehicle to get around easier. they're lucky this trail is easy even with an incline.
