Nice to see between the start of the video and 00:53 that other drivers are sensible enough to leave staggered gaps ,what is make of this vehicle please
@insaneRideOuts666 - I retired in March 2007 having done my 30 years. When I was in the force I was trained as a Grade 1 car and motorcycle Instructor. So when I retired, why not use my skills......
@hazr101 I can still use themn for the purpose of training only, so long as the vehicle is being used for such a purpose, i.e. Fire, Police or Ambulance. But there are moves a foot to make it more difficult to do. Legislation or should a say a money making exercise is on its way.
You can be taken to court still if you do go through a red to help an emergency vehicle. How ever it will be heavily mitigated. I've heard (though not 100% sure) that you may still get the fine, but no points.
why are you moving so slow? i thought this was to practice shoooting through traffic to get to an incident the quickest possible way. btw i know ur keeping safety in mind but when ur going as fast as the other vehicles then...that's just driving normally.
Like the videos, very informative. Just curious, are you covered as an emegency services instructor to drive your vehicles, or do you have to get special permission?
@Chubcatcher - Good question...Does it, I do not know, that is why I am very careful when I see the traffic light cameras. Any answers greatly received.....
@advancedbiker - In theory if a car did get captured crossing the red light, so would the blue-light vehicle. Would it then be possible to obtain the subsequent pictures of that vehicle from the same camera to mitigate the offence?
Hobsons choice really - risk a NIP, or delay an emergency response vehicle...?
@advancedbiker Would a blue flashing light not trip the traffic lights to green anyway? Round here the taxi drivers have all got blue flashers mounted on their dashboards, every time they see a red light they just give it a couple of flashes and bingo! The light turns to green.
@Chubcatcher Yes it does. In fact, in law if you run a red light to move out the way for a blue light you could still be fined. That is why nowadays you see emergency vehicles turning off their sirens when they get to busy red lights so they don't pressure anyone into danger.
@04wheelerd Yes, there's a video on youtube titled "Blue light aware" which is an instructional video which states that you will be prosecuted if you cross a red light even if it is to move out of the way of an emergency vehical. Stay safe and "legal"
LOL, the police car is moving slower than the traffic!

@ 2.03 "50 mph" limit? Look at the road, no wonder so many are caught speeding. Preposterous.

Great video once again. Would have been nice to hear more of the third tone. And the sound cut out half way through the video just a heads up.

Just wondered, would moving part way through a red light to make room for a bluelight trigger any cameras designed to capture "amber gamblers"?
